EDNA MAE "BOOTS" EARNHART WRIGHT, age 74, of Coleman, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Coleman County Medical Center. The body will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Stevens Funeral Home.
Edna was born November 18, 1927 in Whitesboro, Texas and was a daughter of John Allen Earnhart and Edna Virginia Slaton Earnhart. She grew up in Texas and New Mexico where she also attended school. On February 22, 1944 she married
Romie Breeden and he preceded her in death in 1975. She married
Earl Wright in 1978 in Lovington, N.M. and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2000. She had been a mail carrier in Hobbs, N. M. for a number of years and moved to Coleman in 1992. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Johnnie (and husband Wayne) Bradford of Carlsbad, N.M., Romie Jean (and husband Danny) Nowlin of Warren, Texas and Paulinda Sue Boyer of Coleman; son-in-law, Mike Garza of Coleman; two brothers, Claude Allen (and wife Alva) Earnhart of Millsap, Texas and James Edwin Earnhart of Tulare, California; one sister, Marie Fleetwood of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two aunts, Eloise Hunter and Eva Cross both of Hobbs, N. M.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth Dee Garza on May 14, 1999.
JUANITA ROWDEN, age 88, of Coleman, passed away Thursday (August 1, 2002) at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Juanita was born June 25, 1914 in Springtown, Texas and was a daughter of William Noble Bedford and Fannie Lee Strickland Bedford. She grew up in Burkburnett and Wichita Falls area and attended school at Weath. In 1935 she married
Harold Farquhar; he preceded her in death in 1976. On April 8, 1981 she married
Joe H. Rowden in Coleman; he preceded her in death on November 27, 1984. She had lived in Coleman since 1981 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Concho Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Faye Jones of Coleman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, including Donna and Tim Ehrler of Coleman, Marsha and Russell Jones of Oklahoma City, Jerry and Sherry Berry of Burkburnett, Buddy Bird of Eastland and Carolyn Maddox of Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Family visitation will be held this evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
EMILIO SEBALLOS, SR., age 77 of Coleman, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman, with Father Lawrence Cyr officiating. Committal service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at Mt. Hope cemetery in Anson, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Seballos was born May 29, 1925 in Seguin, Texas, a son of Dionicio and Julia Garcia Seballos. He grew up in Seguin and Anson. He married
Lorenza Zambrano on February 3, 1947 in Anson. He moved to Coleman in 1977 from Anson. He was a farmer, member of Cursillista and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorenza Seballos of Coleman; three sons, Emilio Seballos, Jr. and Santos Seballos both of Coleman, Tony Seballos of Pflugerville; five daughters, Ernestine Garcia of Lampasas, Rosalinda Garcia of North Richland Hills, Gracie Munoz of Austin, Rosemary Mendez of Georgetown, Gloria Allen of Blackwell; two brothers, Enrique Seballos and Jessie Seballos both of Anson; six sisters, Tomasa Galvan, Frances Seballos, Lupe Seballos Jimenez, Maria Jimenez all of Anson, Manuela Rodella of Abilene, Josephina Aguero of Dallas; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Seballos was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Munoz, Andy Garcia, Robert Seballos, Joe Mendez, Donny Allen and Ruben Garcia. Honorary Pallbearer will be Emilio Seballos, III.
GRACE McGREGOR, age 101, of Coleman, died Monday (August 12, 2002) at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Coleman City cemetery Pavilion. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Miss McGregor was born August 20, 1900 in Coleman and was a daughter of Jesse and Gabriella Edwards McGregor. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. She was previously a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a life-long resident of Coleman.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Eugenia (Jean) McGregor Tough of Brentwood, Missouri, Mary Lynn Tempone of Tucson, Arizona, Rebecca McGregor of Frisco, Texas, Robert Dean McGregor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Malcolm Brian McGregor of Dallas, Texas and Douglas Scott McGregor of Bryan, Texas.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers: Myrtle McGregor, Essie McGregor, Stuart McGregor, Roland McGregor and Dean McGregor.
Helen Marie Anthony Burnam Rambo, age 88, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at Mesa Springs Healthcare Center in Abilene. Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2002, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coleman. Burial will be in the Coleman cemetery directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Helen Burnam Rambo was born June 3, 1914 in Longview, Texas to Henry Milton and Katie Joe Foster Anthony. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1932 and married
Edwin Burnam in 1934. They lived in Abilene, Victoria, Robstown, Corpus Christi, and Vernon before settling in Coleman in 1948. They operated "The Book Store" in Coleman until 1959. Over the years, her interest in flowers, gardening, and birds developed until she became a local authority on these subjects. She earned the status of Master Flower Show Judge of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Incorporated. In addition, she was District Chairman of Bird Sanctuaries of Texas Garden Clubs, Incorporated for six years. In 1969 she married
Jack Wilson Rambo. In later years she filled her time with her home, yard, Coleman’s Fishes and Loaves and Senior Citizen Group with their quilting projects being her favorite. She lived her last two and one-half years in Mesa Springs Healthcare Center in Abilene.
Survivors include two sons: Joe Ed and Nan Burnam of Abilene and Kenneth and Debbie Burnam of Montgomery; four grandchildren: Stephanie Burnam of Austin, Russell and Terri Burnam of Dallas, Tracey and Jim Cook of Grand Prairie, Brittany Burnam and one step-grandson Brandon Morris of Montgomery; three great-grand children, Reagan and Ryan Cook of Grand Prairie and Cole Burnam of Dallas; one brother Mark Anthony of Fort Worth and one brother-in-law Paul Wayne Burnam of Lafayette, Louisiana and eight nephews and one niece.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Ed Burnam, second husband Jack Rambo, sisters Inez Ketner of San Angelo and Peggy Elder of Houston.
Family visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 14 at the funeral home.

BERNIE B. GRIFFIN, age 49 of Coleman, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2002 at the Coleman City cemetery Pavilion, with Rev. Don Northway officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Griffin was born November 28, 1952 in Menard, Texas, a son of the late J.T. and Ofleta Davis Griffin. He was raised and attended schools in Menard. He served four years in the United States Army. He married
Wanda Brooker in 1976. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include three sons, Jason Griffin, Brandon Griffin and Lee Dan Griffin both of Coleman; one daughter, Jennifer Griffin of Coleman; his mother, Ofleta Carraway; three brothers, Larry Gibbs of Weeoka, Oklahoma, Ira Carraway of Odessa; Lee Carraway of Coleman; one sister, Jamie Bowers of Coleman; one granddaughter, Danielle Dela Cerdea of San Angelo; one grandson, Jordan Hale of Coleman; former wife, Wanda Roachek of Coleman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Griffin.
Family visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2002 at the funeral home.
VONDA JEAN GAUER, age 70, of Coleman died Wednesday (August 21, 2002) at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home. The body was cremated and private family services are planned. Arrangements were made by Stevens Funeral Home.
Vonda Jean was born on December 28, 1931 in Burkett, Texas and was the daughter of Chester Marion Jennings and Gracie Windham Jennings. She grew up in Burkett and graduated from Burkett High School in 1949. On December 31, 1949 she married
Cecil Johnson and then married
Robert Gauer in 1980. She was a practical nurse and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Storm of San Angelo; one son, Randy Johnson of Carlsbad, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to National Federation of the Blind.
SYLVESTER A. CRANE, passed quietly from this life August 23, 2002 at the Coleman County Medical Center in Coleman, Texas. Mr. Crane was born January 16, 1915 in Garden City, Kansas, attended schools in Clayton, NM, and married
the former Mable Kennann, also of Clayton. A current resident at Holiday Hill Nursing Home of Coleman, he was a farmer and rancher at Tucumcari, NM since 1949. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Tucumcari, where he was recently honored as Deacon Emeritus.
Mr. Crane is survived by six children, 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. Children include Harold and Barbara Crane of Tucumcari; Bob and Judy Crane of Coleman, TX; Carolyn and Floren Thompson of Portales NM, George and Rhonda Crane of Yukon, OK; Shirley and Mark Terry of Johnson City, TX and Charles and Martha Crane of Portales, NM. He was preceded in death by Mable, beloved wife of more than 50 years. He was also preceded in death by three brothers (William, Charles and Paul), a sister (Joanna), and one grandson (Karl Sylvester).
Visitation with Coleman friends is set for 7-8 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. Visitation with friends in Tucumcari will be at the Dunn Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Saturday. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, at the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari.
By request of family, memorials may be made to the church libraries of First Baptist Church (Coleman, TX or Tucumcari, NM) in lieu of flowers.
ALBERT BLANKENSHIP, age 88 of Coleman died Saturday, August 24, 2002, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2002 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Blankenship was born December 16, 1913 in Spanish Fort, Oklahoma, a son of Georgia May Blankenship and Dollie Alice Purser Blankenship. He was raised in White Flatt, Texas and attended schools in Trent. He married
Annie Florene Blair on March 25, 1935 in Trent. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1989. He later married
Dava McCoy Lawrence on December 29, 1991 in Midland. He moved to Coleman in 1981 after living in Midland for many years. He was a route driver for R.C. Cola, worked at the Scarborough Hotel in Midland and was a Maintenance Supervisor with the Midland Independent School District. He had also been a Deacon in the Baptist church for while living in Midland. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Dava Blankenship of Coleman; one son-in-law, Dean Tedford of Ft. Stockton; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Thompson of Midland; four step-daughters, Margaret Burkhart of Coleman, Judy Row of Midland, Billie Simpson of Livingston, Linda Williams of Midland; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and twelve step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gearld Wayne Blankenship; one daughter, Joann Tedford; one brother, Homer Blankenship in 1985 and one sister, Estella May McDonald on July 22, 2002.
Family visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2002 at the funeral home.
DANIEL HOWELL (DAN) MOSER, age 74 of Dallas, died Thursday, August 23, 2002 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at Valera cemetery, with Chaplain John Helm of the Blue Knight’s officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Moser was born January 2, 1928, the son of Virgil C. and Nona Mae Howell Moser. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army and the United States Navy. He worked for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years, was a member of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Association and the Blue Knight’s Chapter 21, Waxahachie, Texas.
Survivors include one uncle, Robert L. Howell of Dallas
Mr. Moser was preceded in death by his parents.
