FAY GILL, age 92, of Coleman died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Coleman. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Fay was born August 28, 1911 in Heidenheimer, Texas and was a daughter of James Franklin Davis and Martha Etta Stacy Davis. She grew up in south Texas and graduated from Lott High School. She attended Southwest Texas Teachers College and taught school at Whon for four years. On November 3, 1931 she married Jim Gill in Brady. Fay and Jim lived on the Gill Ranch at Whon for 15 years, moving north of Coleman in 1945. Together they showed polled Herefords from 1941-1971 all over Texas and many other states. Fay organized the National Council of Poll-Ettes in 12 states in the 1960’s and helped publish the Poll-Ette Cook Book to make money for Ladies of Polled Herefords. For her work with youth, she was recognized by the American Poll Hereford Association in their Hall of Merit for Distinguished Service. She was past president of the Cow Belles, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Overall-Morris Memorial Hospital (now Coleman County Medical Center) and past president of the Town and Country Garden Club. She was a director of the West Texas Fair and an honorary vice president of the State Fair of Texas. Fay was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Coleman.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Gill of Coleman; nieces and nephews including Kathy Harris, who was raised by Fay and Jim as a daughter and her husband David of San Angelo; Betty Ruth and Tony Maciel of San Antonio, Martha Lenora and Bill Bond of Chattanooga, TN, Audrey Bailey of Deer Creek, TX, Allyn Gill of San Marcos, James L. Gill of Bronte and Joyce England of Bryan, TX; sister-in-law, Maye Gill Craig of Sweeny, TX; honorary grandchildren, Jolee Karle of Granbury, Matthew Turner and Kristen Turner both of Coleman; great-grandchildren, Emma and Kenneth Karle and Wyatt Perry.

Family visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, TX 79605 or First United Methodist Church, 500 W. Liveoak, Coleman, TX 76834.

WILLIAM M. GALLAWAY, age 78, of Carrizozo, Lincoln County, New Mexico, died Thursday, November 13, 2003 in Alamogordo. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Glen Cove cemetery with Dr. Ira Gallaway officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. Gallaway was born August 24, 1925 in Coleman County, Texas to William Fletcher Gallaway and Julia Estelle Taylor Gallaway. He grew up in Coleman County and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He had lived in Farmington, N.M. for many years and moved to Carrizozo in 1982. He was a well-known rancher, banker and oil man. He was a banker in Truth or Consequences, N.M. before moving to Farmington where he organized the Farmington National Bank. He then bought the Diamond Peak Ranch in Carrizozo and was active and very successful in the Thoroughbred Horse industry. He was married to Martha Ilschner in 1980. He was Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Martha T. Gallaway of Carrizozo, N.M.; one brother, Dr. Ira Gallaway of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, William C. Gallaway and Benjamin Gallaway; one daughter, Mechel Fithian; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Aleene Gallaway of Coleman.

Family visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Josephine Mary Crosby, age 84 of Coleman died Monday, November 17, 2003 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Coleman City cemetery Pavilion, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Josephine was born July 22, 1919 in Denver, Colorado. She married Garland Milford "Bill" Crosby in Santa Monica, California in 1942. He preceded her in death in January, 1994. They moved to Coleman in 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Crosby of Vista, California and Randy Crosby of Coleman; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

EARL KENT GOSS, age 80 of Coleman, died Monday, November 17, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. Goss was born March 18, 1923 in Grosvenor, Texas, a son of Leonard L. Goss and Minnie Pearl Byrd Goss. He was raised in Grosvenor and graduated from Grosvenor High School. He served eight years in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day and received the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars and the U.N. Service Medal. He married Ozell Edington in 1955 in Brownwood. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2000. They moved to Coleman in 1986, after living in Dallas for 35 years. He was a sprinkler fitter and a Protestant.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Goss and his wife Joyce and Kenny Goss, both of Dallas and one granddaughter, Greer Goss of Dallas.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers and in the memory of Ozell Goss, the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Coleman County State Bank, Attn: Dorothy McDonald, P. O. Box 940, Coleman, Texas 76834.

LORANZA JAY EVANS, age 85, of Cross Plains and formerly of Coleman, died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Coleman cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Loranza Jay Evans was born February 12, 1918 in Coleman, Texas and was a son of the late Troy and Viller Yates Evans. He grew up in Coleman and attended school at Echo. He served in the United States Army and the United States Navy. In 1968 he married Jackie I. Byrd and lived in Zephyr and May where they raised turkeys. He was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Wichita Construction Company. He moved to Cross Plains 15 years ago and was a Baptist. He was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Evans of Cross Plains; two sons, T. J. Evans, Jr. and wife Barbara of Granbury and Ruben Evans of Portales, NM; two daughters, Gail Churchman and husband Tom of Brownwood and Barbara Evans of Wichita Falls; stepchildren, Ronnie White and wife Donnie of Proctor, Pat McBroom of Melissa, Sue Wilson and husband Ronnie of Gainesville, Bill Jackson and wife Anita of Wichita Falls, Margie Quillen and husband Danny of Little Elm, Theresia Moffitt and husband Doug of Alvord and Jay Evans and wife Kim of Chico. several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one half-sister, Edith Rose Evans of Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews including Guy Evans and Cathy Barkemeyer.

He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Ronald Jackson and Jerry Jackson.

Family visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

ALMA JO McCLELLAN, age 72, of Coleman, died Monday, November 24, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2003 at Gouldbusk cemetery with her son, Rev. Gaylan McClellan officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Alma Jo Bowen McClellan was born December 20, 1930 in Gouldbusk and was the daughter of the late Alvie "Short" Bowen and Una Mae Smith Bowen. She grew up in Gouldbusk and attended school there and in Mozelle. On June 27, 1946 she married Floyd McClellan in Gouldbusk and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1999. She lived in Coleman for a number of years before moving to Burkburnett for 3 1/2 years and Tye for 15 years. She returned to Coleman in 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of Concho Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gaylan and wife Susan McClellan of Weatherford and Hollis McClellan of Brownwood; one daughter, Gloria McClellan Lemond of Kerrville; two brothers, Ted Bowen of Lake Coleman and Duane Bowen of Wilson, Texas; eight grandchildren, Andy and Beth Lemond, Tim McClellan, Angela, Kathleen and Holly McClellan, Jason Lee and Jennifer Garland; three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Coleman County Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, 310 Pecos, Coleman, Texas 76834.

The family visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.

William Paige "Bill" St. Clair, age 47 of Coleman died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 at Johnson Station cemetery in Arlington, Texas. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, Texas.

Bill was born January 7, 1956 in Tarrant County, a son of the late Robert Page St. Clair and Mae Evelyn Shelton St. Clair. He was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School. He moved to Coleman in 1993 from Abilene and Eastland, where he was a machinist.

Survivors include his daughter, Karolyn St. Clair of Arlington; two granddaughters, DeSiree and Kaitlyn Jackson both of Arlington; his mother, Evelyn St. Clair of Arlington; eight brothers and sisters, Robert St. Clair, and wife Kim, of Abilene, Teresa Horton of Coleman, Patricia St. Clair of Fort Worth, Christopher St. Clair, and wife Sandy of Arlington, Joseph St. Clair, and wife Frances, of Arlington, Evelyn Blanton of Alvarado, Mary Ryan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ann Johnson of Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan, Coleman, Texas 76834.

CARLA PERRIE PARKS, age 49, of Coleman, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center. Graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003 at Coleman City cemetery Pavilion. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Carla was born October 4, 1954 in Santa Anna, Texas and was the daughter of Louie and Barbara Bennett Perrie. She grew up in Coleman and attended school here. In November 1977 she married Larry Parks in Coleman and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2000. She was a waitress and a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Galen Perrie of Coleman and Aaron and wife Lori Parks of Coleman; one daughter, Amber Parks of Coleman; two grandchildren, Katlin Parks and Avery Hale; two sisters, Donna Perrie and Karen Densman both of Coleman; two brothers, Alan and wife D’Ann Perrie of Winters and Bruce Perrie of Coleman; numerous nieces and nephews; one great-niece.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

ANNIE LEE McFARLIN, age 92, of Coleman, died Friday, December 5, 2003 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coleman with Rev. Dick Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Bangs cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Annie Lee was born December 22, 1910 in Brown County, Texas and was a daughter of the late Thomas Edgar and Mary Schulze Avants. She grew up in Brown County and attended school at Whon. In 1935 she married Henry Elmer McFarlin and he preceded her in death in April 1984. She lived in Whon, moved to Odessa and then to Hamlin where she lived for a number of years. She moved to Coleman in 1997. She worked in the dietary department at the nursing home in Hamlin. While living in Hamlin, she was a member of First Baptist Church and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coleman.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, A. W. and Jorene McFarlin of Coleman; daughter-in-law, Sharon McFarlin Vickery of San Angelo; three grandchildren, Cindy and Jon Achilles of Gilbert, AZ, Dana and Russell Hamilton of Idalou, TX and Leo C. McFarlin, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; two step-grandchildren, Carolyn Rich of Ada, OK and Robert Graves of Caddo Mills, TX; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Belle Farris of Coleman and Ella Mae Watson of Silsbee, TX; two brothers, Aaron Avants of May, TX and Charlie Avants of Gouldbusk, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Ray McFarlin in 1940 and Leo McFarlin in 1984.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

RUTH DONICA, age 89, of Coleman, died Friday, December 5, 2003 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at North Coleman Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Roberts officiating. Private interment will follow at the Gouldbusk cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Ruth was born March 19, 1914 in Pittsburg, Kansas and was a daughter of Ernest and Bertha Harmbuckle Powell. She was married to John Miller in 1941 in Corpus Christi and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1975. She married Floyd Donica in 1979 in Coleman and he died on April 1, 1996. She lived in Odessa from 1945-1970, when she moved to Coleman. She was a member of North Coleman Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include one step-son, Ronnie Donica of Coleman; eight grandchildren, Tammy and husband John Casey of Coleman, Joe and wife Jamie Donica of Early, David Donica of Allen, TX, Stephanie Donica of Kermit, Travis Donica of Coleman, Mike, Darell and Cody Fikes all of Coleman; seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to North Coleman Baptist Church, 905 N. Neches, Coleman, Texas 76834.
