DAVID DAVIDSON, age 46, of Jonestown, died Thursday (September 27, 2001) at his residence. The body was cremated and a memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Steward place near Mozelle, Coleman County, Texas, for family and close friends.
David was born August 7, 1955 in Roswell, N. M. and was a son of Maureen Steward Davidson Duncan and the late Richard Alvin Davidson. He grew up in New Hampshire and California and had lived in the Austin area for the past seven years where he was a courier for a freight company.
Survivors include his daughter, Jamie Davidson of Beaufort, S. C.; mother and step-father, Maureen and H. M. Duncan of Talpa, Texas; two brothers, Dennis Davidson of Webster, Texas and Dan Davidson of Somersworth, N. H. ; one sister, Pam Gasper of Houston, Texas; his grandmother, Estaleen Steward of Voss, Texas; one step-brother, Harlan Duncan of Alva, OK; three step-sisters, Glenda Connel of San Antonio, Rhonda Harrell of San Saba and Vivian McCall of Goshen, Indiana.

CLEMENTINE SMITH AUTRY, age 78 of Austin and formerly of Coleman died Friday, September 21, 2001 in Austin. A memorial service will held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Coleman with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Autry was born October 4, 1922 in Miami, Florida, the daughter of the late William S. Smith and Theo V. Murphy Smith. She was raised and attended school in Miami and graduated from the University of Miami. She married
Milton Autry on June 20, 1946 in Miami. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1998.
Mr. and Mrs. Autry were part owners of the Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice. She served as president of the Coleman Public Library Board and Friends of the Library, represented First Baptist Church for a term on the Overall-Morris Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, served on the Coleman Housing Authority Board, was active in the Girl Scouts as a troop leader and later at the Council level and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sherry Autry of Coleman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Autry Taylor and Ambrose Taylor and Leslie Autry Midgley and Mike Midgley all of Austin and three grandchildren, Michael and Paige Autry of Coleman and Erin Midgley of Austin.

PATSY PRICE ENGLAND, age 71 of Tuscola, died Saturday, September 22, 2001, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., September 26, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Coleman, with Joe Henry Waldrop officiating, assisted by Dr. Rodney Pirtle and Doyle Meador. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Patsy was born April 14, 1930 in Coleman, a daughter of the late Joe Collin Price and Thelma Lou Boyd Price. She was raised in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1946 and attended the Technical Art Institute in Fort Worth. She married
Alford England on August 17, 1947 in Coleman. Patsy had lived in Dallas for 35 years, before returning to the Abilene area five years ago. She was involved in in many civic and charitable organizations, worked in advertising and promotions for department stores and owned a health care and skin products business. Patsy was included in the first issue of "Notable Women of Texas" and was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband, Alford England of Tuscola; two daughters, Al’An [pronounced AL-AN] England Kesler and husband Michael of Tuscola, Traci Kai [pronounced KAY] England of Abilene; her mother, Thelma Price of The Woodlands, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Elvis Selman of The Woodlands; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe Sealy and Elizabeth Price, Sr. of Crosby, Texas; one sister-in-law, Fran Price of Houston; four grandchildren, Austin England and Braden Del Kesler; Kyla [pronounced KI-LA] and Kevin Kelco of Clarkston, Michigan and many neices, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Max Price.

OVIALEE RAYMER, age 88, long-time Coleman resident, died Wednesday (September 12, 2001) at an Abilene nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (September 15, 2001) at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Helen McIver officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Raymer was born December 20, 1912 in Coleman, Texas and was the daughter of William Edward (W. E.) Yates and Quilla Jane Wester Yates. She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. On November 16, 1942 she married
A. V. "Shorty" Raymer in Coleman and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1984. She lived in Coleman until moving to Abilene about ten years ago. Many years ago, she worked at the County Superintendent’s Office. She was a homemaker, a former Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Coleman Senior Center. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Michael Brown of Abilene; three grandchildren, Alicia Brown, David Brown and Daniel Brown all of Abilene; one great-grandchild, Dylan Jacob Brown of Abilene; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ethel Yates of Houston; two nephews, Carroll Draper of Buda, Texas and Alan Draper of Granbury, Texas; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister.

JUANITA WILMON DOBBINS, age 83, of Coleman, died Sunday (September 2, 2001) at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (September 4, 2001) in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Wilson officiating. Interment
will be in the Coleman cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dobbins was born March 4, 1918 in Rule, Haskell County, Texas and was the daughter of Edgar and Maude Alice Moser Wilmon Colbert. She grew up in Coleman where she graduated from high school. On August 31, 1961 she married
Alvin A. Dobbins in Coleman and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1984. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Ronald "Tooter" Baynes of Ovalo; one grandson, Lance Ty Baynes of Abilene. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Gene Baynes.

JOHN CHANEY, Age 93 of Palestine - Former Coleman resident, died Sunday in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dean Coultas officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will follow at Tuscola cemetery. Mr. Chaney was born in 1907 in Moran. He grew up and graduated in Tuscola. He lived on the family farm near Tuscola, later lived in Lawn then moved to Coleman in 1964. He moved to Palestine in 1994. He was a farmer and retired from Santa Fe Railroad. In January 1990, he married
Ida Mae Gray and she preceded him in death in 1993. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coleman where he was a member of the Friendly Fellows Sunday School Class and long-time member of the Chancel Choir. He was a 50 year member of both Masonic Lodge #1230 and Eastern Star Chapter #30. Survivors include: nieces and nephews - Doyle Chaney of Phoenix, Arizona and Dolores Moore of Palestine; sister-in-law - Beunah Chaney of Elkhart, Texas.
ROBERT B. DODSON of Coleman died Tuesday at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Coleman cemetery Pavilion, directed by Stevens Funeral Home. He was born in 1906 in Coleman, attended school in Coleman and was a life-long resident. In 1928 he married
Myrtle Craig in Coleman and she preceded him in death in 1994. He was a carpenter, worked many years at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Coleman and later owned and operated a furniture upholstery shop. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a volunteer fireman for a number of years. Survivors include: three daughters - Patsy Winstead of Coleman, Ann Jameson of Voss and Roberta Rice of Tucson, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
MARILYNN MILLER SEWELL, age 79, of San Antonio and formerly of Coleman County, died Thursday (January 4, 2001) at the Hospice Unit of Methodist Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (January 6, 2001) at Brown Ranch cemetery in Coleman County, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sewell was born November 5, 1921 in Gouldbusk, a daughter of John Manley Miller and Annie Pearl Harris Miller. She was raised in Gouldbusk and Fisk and attended schools at Brown Ranch and graduated from Mozelle High School. She married
Albert C. Sewell on February 8, 1946 in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death in 1972. She has lived in San Antonio for the last 30 years and was an executive secretary in the Civil Service and a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, J. M. Miller and Frances Miller of Arlington, Texas and Charles and Maggie Miller of Overland Park, Kansas; two nephews, David Miller of Amarillo, Texas and Charlie Miller of Watagua, Texas and a nephew-in-law, Larry French of Arlington, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a niece, Judy Ann Miller French in 1983.
CHRISTINE JONES, age 78, of Coleman, died Friday (January 5, 2001) at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born September 12, 1922 in Coleman County, a daughter of Leon H. Johnson and Eunice Cirkle Johnson. She was raised and attended schools in Coleman County and graduated from Buffalo High School. She married
William Jesse (Billie) Jones on July 14, 1940 in Coleman. She worked at the Owl Drug store for many years and was a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Skip Williams of Coleman; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Don and Deborah Jones of Brownwood; two brothers, Bobby Johnson and Doyle Johnson; one sister, Glennie Glass; four grandchildren, Clay Bob Fenton of Fort Worth, Chad and wife Ashley Garrett of Weatherford, Jerri Lyn and Juli Jones both of Waco; two great-grandchildren, Baley and Cade Garrett of Weatherford and several neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers.
BROTHER BILL EVANS, age 62, of Coleman, died Sunday (January 7, 2001) at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Community Baptist Church with Bro. Marcy Grun officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Bill Evans was born February 8, 1938 in East Prairie, Missouri and was the son of Ellon Poley Evans and the late Tillman Evans. He grew up and attended school in East Prairie, Missouri. At age 17 he moved to Kentucky and then later to California where he lived until 1992 when he moved to Coleman. He returned to Bakersfield, California and lived there from 1995-1998. He moved back to Coleman in 1998. In September 1986 he married
Mary Murphy Chamberlain in Taft, California. He had pastored churches in Texas and California since 1978 and was pastoring Harmony Baptist Church at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Evans of Coleman, Texas; his mother, Ellon Evans of Bakersfield, California; two sons, William Poley Evans, Jr (and wife Tammy) of Bakersfield, California and Douglas Evans of Taft, California; two daughters, Cheryl Fields of Taft, California and Liz Hagstrom (and husband Chuck) of Taft, California; one step-daughter, Johnna Phillips (and husband Berry) of Coleman; one brother, Albert Evans of Bakersfield, California; six sisters, Doris Henderson of Bakersfield, California, Alma Hunt of Maricopa, California, Betty Poor of Sikeston, Missouri, Sue Muse of Bakersfield, California, Judy Burns of Pine, Arizona and Brenda Evans of Bakersfield, California; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

GLYNN DALE FARIES, JR., age 48, of Coleman died Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Mr. Faries was born April 6, 1952 in Coleman, Texas and was a son of the late Ealder Ballard Faries Berg and Glynn Dale Faries, Sr. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1970. On August 10, 1970 he married
Karen Kay Barnett in Coleman. He attended Cummins Diesel Mechanic’s School and had been a truck driver for over 30 years, formerly driving for Martin Brick in Coleman. At the time of his death he was a truck driver for Mueller, Inc. where he had been employed for 20 years. At Mueller’s he was a lead driver, truck driver trainer and a safety trainer. He was a member of North Coleman Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Kay Faries of Coleman; three sons, Mack Eugene Faries of Gainesville, Texas, Shawn Dale Faries and Tyson Daniel Faries both of Coleman; his father and step-mother, Glynn Dale Faries, Sr. and Carol Faries of Coleman; three brothers, Billy Don Faries of Novice, Bobby Dan Faries and Michael Darrell Faries both of Coleman; one sister, Peggy Darlene Calabrese of Alvarado, Texas; one half-sister, Catharine Stringer of Coleman; nine grandchildren: Michael Dale Faries, Angelita Diane Faries, Laney Chaelyn Fulbright, Justin Michael Dale Faries, Tylor Daniel Faries, Gaven Douglas Faries, Rowdy Dakota Faries, William David Faries, Dustin Eudell Faries; two step-grandchildren: Mariah Faries and Justine Lucas; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ealder Berg and his grandmother, Vila Faries.
