Dorothy LaNell Tardy, age 75, passed away, Saturday, February 28, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Floydada with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Interment
will follow at the Floydada cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
LaNell was born March 28, 1939 in the McCoy Community. She lived in McCoy until early 1970's at which time she moved to Floydada with her parents. LaNell graduated from Floydada High School and had a career as an Avon Distributor for many years. Her life and dedication consisted of attending the First Baptist Church and eating at Dairy Queen very often.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Harvey and Marie Tardy, one older brother; Lonnie Ray Tardy who passed away at age 3 prior to LaNell's birth.
She is survived by her brother; Dale Tardy and wife Nancy of Lubbock, nephews; Larry Tardy and wife Lisa of Arlington, Joel Tardy and wife Betsy of Lubbock, Todd Tardy and wife Shelley of Arlington, a niece; Debbie Tardy of Lubbock, thirty one great nieces and nephews and 8 great great nieces and nephews, and five cousins.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the entire community for the guidance and help afforded to LaNell and our family.
Ruby Kiser

Ruby Kiser, age 92, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Lockney. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Lockney with Carl Shelton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Ruby Louise Ransom was born April 27th, 1922 to Dock Luellen Ransom and Minnie Gertrude Slay in Tehuacana Texas. Ruby was baptized at an early age and was married
to Walter Kiser at 19. They lived in many areas of Texas where Walter did Sharecropping during the first part of their married
life.
Ruby was a Wife, Mother and a Jill of all trades. Professionally, she held positions as a Bus Driver, Beautician, Seamstress, Nurse's Aid with Lockney Nursing Home and Director of Housekeeping as well as a Nurses Aide at Mangold Memorial Hospital. Dr. Mangold saw that she had a real talent in that field and encouraged her to pursue her LVN license. She continued her career as an LVN at Mangold Memorial until she retired in 1995. From there, she worked in her Church nursery until her health would not allow.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, five sisters and six brothers.
She leaves to mourn two brothers, Rev. Wilford Ransom & Bish. Leonard Ransom, one adopted son, Nebbie N. Nash, three daughters, Alma Parker, Jonnell Echols & adopted daughter, Delois Moore, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Troy Wayne "Bud" Vaughan

Wayne Vaughan, 88, of Silverton passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014.Funeral services will be Friday, November 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Silverton, TX with Dennis Williams and Rance Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Silverton cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., November 28, 2014, at the Moore Rose visitation center in Silverton. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home of Quitaque.
Bud was born September 17, 1926 in Hollis, OK to John Elmer and Girtha Mae Vaughan. He was a loving husband and father. He was a stockman and farmer. He was a 50 year plus Master Mason and a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the Quitaque Masonic Lodge # 1248, serving in various offices during his tenure.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, John Elmer and Girtha Mae Vaughan, one brother, Denzil Vaughan and Ruby Jewell Vaughan, the mother of their sons.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of Silverton: two sons, Danny & wife Kathy of La Junta, CO and Ron & wife Pam of Colleyville, TX; two daughters, Brenda & Dennis Williams of Miami, TX and Susan Pool of Canyon, TX; two sisters, Norma Jean Ragland of Lockney, TX, Lola Smalts and husband Dale of Hereford, TX, eleven grandchildren; Pike Vaughan of Durango, CO, Troy Vaughan of La Junta, CO, Catherine Vaughan of Durango, CO, Justin & Sarah Vaughan of Singapore, John & Crystal Vaughan of Houston, TX, Ryan Vaughan of Houston, TX, Robert & Hannah Vaughan of Bloomington, Indiana, Krysta & Aaron Eugenis of Lubbock, TX, Amber & James Kemper of Lubbock, TX, Dustin & Sarah Pool of Briscoe, TX and Dillon Pool of Canyon, TX; and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be to the Silverton cemetery or the First United Methodist Church of Silverton, TX.
Freddie Cecil Jackson

Cecil Jackson, age 69, of Floydada, left his family and friends and went to his eternal home on Friday, March 6, 2015 after battling a lengthy illness. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Floydada with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church Parlor in Floydada. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Cecil was born September 28, 1945 in Merkel, Texas to Freddie Lee Jackson and Margaret Elouise (Goode) Jackson. He moved with his family to Floyd County when he was four years old and grew up on the family farm west of Floydada. Cecil graduated from Floydada High School in 1963. He married
Linda Faye Myrick on May 8, 1971 in Floydada. Together they had two children, a daughter Delinda Paulette and a son Bradlee Cecil.
Cecil farmed and raised cattle in the Sandhill area. He served on the board of the of the Floyd County Farm Service Agency, the High Plains Water Conservation District and served on the board of the Plains Cotton Growers. He enjoyed visiting with other farmers and going to the elevators and gins. He could tell a good story and generally left everyone with a smile on their face and joy in their heart. Cecil retired from farming in 2007. He was proud that young farmers he saw grow up now produce crops on the "home place".
Cecil enjoyed hunting and spent many hours with Brad and Marty, his son in law, watching, feeding and occasionally they even killed a deer. He enjoyed fishing also, and spent many days running trotlines at Lake Stamford and on trips with friends to the river. Cecil loved firearms and enjoyed hand-loading ammunition for his family and friends.
Cecil enjoyed spending time with his grand kids and having cookouts on holidays. He enjoyed watching fireworks and playing board games with the family. Cecil was always known for a good joke.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, daughter, Delinda, and her husband, Marty, of Floydada, son, Brad, and his wife, Tali, of Floydada, five grandchildren all of Floydada, Ashley Lucke, Micheala Jackson, Delaney Lucke, Kailee Jackson and Jaden Green. His sister, Joellen Jackson Myrick and her husband, Jack of Euless. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Richard Lee.

Bobby L. Redd, age 78, passed from this world to the arms of his heavenly father surrounded by his loved ones, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Lubbock. Bobby was born the 4th of June 1936 in Floydada to Virgil and Jewel Redd. In 1954 he signed up for the Navy and spent 10 years serving his country and sailing around the world. In 1964 he met the love of his life, Sally, whom he courted until they were married
December 7, 1965. They lived first in Plainview and later settled in Lubbock where they moved into their current residence in June of 1969. He retired from Lubbock Building Products.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sally and their son, Randy and wife Kristi, son; Kevin Hootman from a previous marriage and step son; James Lee, grandchildren; Tiffany Redd, Talan Redd, Angelina Hootman, and David Hootman, whom he loved dearly and his favorite brother-in-law; Jim McPherson and his wife Gina, his sister-in-law; Marie Pike and her husband Dan, sister in law; Jean and husband Wayne, sister in law; Maxine, brother-in- law; John McPherson and his favorite nurse, his niece; Shannel. He is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his brother; Gene and sister; Claudine.

Roberto was born on February 15, 1962 to Manuel and Dolores (Flores) De La Fuente in Mexico. He loved old school farming and ranching. Roberto loved to read western novels. Mainly he loved and enjoyed being with his wife, kids and grandkids. He was a unique person with one unique mind, everyday was one more happy day for him. He believed in God, his family and himself. His will to fight life's hardships was an inspiration to all of us. We will miss you "Old Man."
He is preceded in death by his parent; Manuel and Dolores De La Fuente, two brothers; Alfonso De La Fuente, Jesus De La Fuente, and mother in law; Virginia Ortiz.
Roberto is survived by his wife; Charlene De La Fuente of the home, sons; Manuel De La Fuente and wife Leslie, Danny Ortiz and wife Senaida, grand kids; Addisyn De La Fuente, Emma De La Fuente, Zacchaues Ortiz, Zoe Ortiz, brothers; Jose De La Fuente of Mercedes, Antonio De La Fuente of Floydada, Lupe De La Fuente of Hart, Miguel De La Fuente of Plainview, sisters; Maria Cuellar, Ofelia Hernandez, and Estella Salinas all of Floydada, Petra Trevino of Edinburg, Hortencia Reynoso of Denver City, Rosa Maria Castro of Brownfield, and Dolores De Ande of Houston.
