Gary Bennett
April 28, 1952 - July 6, 2015
Floydada, Texas

Gary was born April 28, 1952 in Floydada to Harold Wayne and Geneva Faye Richardson Bennett. He was a lifetime resident of Floydada and graduated from Floydada High class of 1970. Gary was a third generation concrete contractor working along side his father and grandfather for many years. Gary and Pam were married on July 1, 1971 and just celebrated their 44th anniversary together. Gary was also known as Bumpy, a nickname that was given to him by his oldest grand- daughter. Bumpy's greatest passion was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Bumpy also enjoyed his weekends at the lake fishing and being with his friends. In his younger years he enjoyed team roping and rodeos. Gary was the family go to guy, the baby sitter, our friend, and our rock. He will forever be remembered by those that were lucky enough to have had him in their lives. He is survived by his parents Harold Wayne and Geneva Bennett of Floydada, TX, his wife Pam of the home, his daughter Tiffany, her husband Roger Hughes and their children, Reagan, and Brody of Floydada, TX and Tara Hughes of Lubbock; his daughter Kristi, her husband Nathan Whittle and their daughter Makinley all of Floydada, TX; and his son Ross and fiancé Leah of Abilene, TX. He is also survived by his sister Valdonna and husband Larry Barbee of Tyler, TX, his brother Ricky Bennett and wife Jill of Post, TX, and sister Rhonda and husband Larry Stovall of Floydada, TX. Along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins

Armando Mendoza, age 49, of Turkey, passed away, Friday, April 17, 2015 in Turkey. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church in Turkey with Father Arturo Mesa officiating. Interment icon will follow at Dreamland cemetery in Turkey. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.

Vickie Shepherd

Vickie Shepherd, age 38, of Floydada, passed away, Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Vickie was born April 7, 1977 to Donald Milligan and Mary Ann Breckenridge in Floydada.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Mary Ann Breckenridge, grandparents; George and Evelyn Winn, grandmother; Fern Milligan and nephew; Jaden Milligan.

Vickie is survived by her son; Anthony Milligan, father; Donald Milligan of Floydada, brother; Odie Milligan and wife Jackie of Plainview, fiancee; Danny Duarte of Lubbock.

Brandy Lynn Marley
December 31, 1968 - June 20, 2015
Lubbock, Texas

Brandy Lynn Marley, age 46, of Lubbock, passed away, Saturday, June 20, 2015. Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Brandy was born on December 31, 1968 in Lubbock to Edward Martin and Judy Turner. Brandy loved to be in the outdoors. She enjoyed talking with her old friends and drinking her favorite soda, Coca-Cola. Brandy loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Judy Stanley.

Brandy is survived by her husband; Bobby Marley, a daughter; Amber Marley, two step brothers; Daniel Martin and Michael Martin both of Carmine, Tx, and grandmother; Peggy Turner.

Byron Ford
December 24, 1926 - January 12, 2015
Lockney, Texas

Byron Cox Ford, age 88, of Lockney, passed away, Monday, January 12, 2015 in Lockney, just a few weeks after his 88th birthday. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Methodist Church in Lockney. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Byron was born on December 24, 1926 in Raymondville, TX. His family moved to the Lockney area when he was in the fourth grade. He graduated from Lockney High in 1944 and soon did what many young men from that generation did: he signed up for military service. He joined the Merchant Marines. After returning from the service, he attended Tech Texas. He ultimately left college to return to Lockney and started a life-long career in farming. In 1948, he married Patsy Louise Ford of Lockney. They were married for over 65 years until her death in 2013. Byron was an avid golfer, and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed those hobbies with friends as well as his children and grandchildren.

Byron was preceded in death by one child, Michael Byron Ford, his parents Attie Cox Ford and Henry C. Ford, Sr., his brother Henry C. Ford, Jr., and his wife, Patsy Louise Harris Ford.

He is survived by a daughter, Diane Johnson and her husband, Carlton Johnson of South Plains, two sons, Tony Ford and his wife, Karen, of Fort Worth, and Bernie Ford of Lockney, as well as eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be given to First United Methodist Church of Lockney.

Billie Dorsett
May 17, 1923 - October 21, 2014
Lockney, Texas

Billy Rue Dorsett, age 91, of Lockney, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Lockney. Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Lockney cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Billie was born on May 17, 1923. She resided at the Lockney Health and Rehab for about the last 2 yrs where she passed away. She previously moved from Lamesa, TX in 2007 and made her home in Lockney on North Main until she required more assistance and moved to the local nursing home. She loved needle work, quilting with sisters and friends, gardening; she was a caregiver at heart to all whom she contacted!!! Even in the care center when she would slowly move down the hall from room to room she checked on the needs of others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Tom and Sallie Jarboe and sisters Alma Baxter and Lucile Johnson.

She is survived by a son; James Dorsett and spouse Sharon of Nashville, TN; one Grandson, Chris Dorsett and spouse Kellie of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter Laura Toney and spouse Bryon, great-granddaughters, Breanna and Amanda of Hendersonville, TN, granddaughter, Lee Anne Bellamy and spouse Derrick, great-grandsons Mason and Luke, great-granddaughter Keegan, Hanahan, SC, cousins; Kenneth Tate of Amarillo, Mavis Reecer and Virginia Gann of Ruidoso, Percy Tate of Midland and brother-in-law Ike Johnson of Lubbock, nephew, Tom Johnson and his family; Melissa Chadwick of San Angelo and Steve Johnson of Abernathy, a niece, Linda Kidd and husband Roy of Lockney TX, their 3 sons: Phillip (and Lana) Kidd of Lockney TX & family; Dale (and Monica) Kidd of Wheeler TX & family; Aaron Kidd and children of Amarillo TX.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or Girlstown online or P.O. Box 1890 Amarillo, TX 79174-0001

Maria E. Reyes

Maria Elena (Nena) Reyes, age 77, of Floydada, passed away, Friday, July 3, 2015. Maria was born June 16, 1938 in Kingsville, Texas to Santos Rivera and Trinidad Villanueva. She enjoyed playing games with siblings and friends. She was a member of the Calvary Cornerstone Fellowship Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Santos Rivera and Trinidad Villanueva.

Maria is survived by her five children; Noemi Maldonado (Raul), Sylvia Ruiz, Norma Avelar (Charlie), Manuel Reyes (Alex), Arturo Reyes (Anna), 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, sibblings; Graciela Gomez (Chela), Gloria Morales, Jose Manuel Falcon, Nellie Mendez, Mary Caballero. She is also survived by her special friends; Martin Saldana and Antonia Delgado, Precious, Greg Luna and Robert Luna.

Patrick Braddock
May 20, 2014 - October 19, 2014
Silverton, Texas

Patrick Norbert Braddock, age 74, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia. Interment icon will follow at the Silverton cemetery in Silverton, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home.

Mr. Braddock was born May 20, 1940 in Tulia to Hubert and Josephine Braddock. He married Carolyn Dovie Louise Hall in Dimmit, Texas on May 6, 1965. Patrick worked as a farmer, truck driver, pig rancher, and as a correctional officer.

He is preceded in death by wife Carol, a son; Patrick, his mom, dad, brother, and sister.

Patrick is survived by four sons; Hubert and wife Margie of Nazareth, David and wife Brenda of New Deal, Heath and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Coty and wife Neyla of Tulia, two daughters; Lou Jessica Braddock of Tulia and Stella Braddock of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and countless nieces and nephews.

Olive Nan Hinton
April 27, 1930 - November 27, 2014
Crosbyton, Texas

Olive Nan Hinton 84, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Crosbyton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Floydada, Texas on Saturday, November 29, at 2:00 p.m. Interment icon will follow at the Dougherty cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home of Floydada. Olive was born on April 27, 1930 to Fred and Eula Mae (Lotspeich) Gross on the farm in the Ellen community of eastern Hale County. In 1935, the family moved to Sandhill and Olive began school in the Sandhill School in 1936. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1947 and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Thacker in Floydada. On November 11, 1952, Henry and Olive were married at the Gross Family home in Sandhill. They made their home on the farm in the Dougherty community, and worked together as a family to make the farm a success. Olive was active in the Dougherty Community Club and helped with the Dougherty 4-H Club and the Floyd County 4-H Club. Olive has been an active member in the First United Methodist Church of Floydada, serving in many capacities including children's Sunday school teacher and coordinator. Henry and Olive were honored as "Family of the Year" by the Floydada First United Methodist Church in 1970. She served as a volunteer and a board member of the Floyd County Museum. Henry and Olive were named Pioneer Couple of the Year by the Floyd County Pioneer Association in 2010. Both volunteered at the Floydada Care Center for many years. He was our dad, confidant, supporter, and friend. He loved us and will be greatly missed. Olive was a giving, loving wife and mother and a friend to many. Olive and her husband Henry enjoyed special times with their grandchildren. Her presence here on earth will be missed, yet carried on by the legacy of those she influenced. Olive has enjoyed the recent past as a resident of Shepherd's Meadow in Floydada, and most recently the Crosbyton Nursing Home. The family appreciates the loving, caring environment each one provided. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Henry" of Floydada, Texas, son, Harold Ray Hinton of Monte Vista, Colorado and two brothers, Allen Gross of Petersburg, Texas and Dave Gross of the Sandhill Community. She leaves behind two sons, James Hinton and his wife Sharon of Floydada, Texas and Dean Hinton and his wife Kim of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is survived by five grandsons and three granddaughters: Kyle and Autumne Hinton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ralph and Jordan Hinton of Brighton, Colorado, Brad and Heather Hinton of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Eric and Kiersten Hinton of Monte Vista, Co, Katie Hinton of Abilene, Texas, Carly Hinton of Greeley, Colorado, and Matthew Hinton of Socorro, New Mexico, Nadia Hinton of Nacogdoches, Texas and one great-grandson. She is survived by one sister Mary Sue Fowler of Bovina, Texas, her brothers Jerry and Joanne Gross of Spokane, Washington, Dan and Barbara Gross of Hobbs, New Mexico, Thacker and Joan Gross of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Lonnie Pat and Peggy Gross of Cleveland, Tennessee, two sister-in-laws Christine Lyles of Hale Center, Texas and Lois Hinton of Richardson, Texas along with many nieces and nephews.
