Lonnie Payne age 73, of Turkey died early Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his home.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Resthaven cemetery on Quitaque with Jerry Beck officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home. Lonnie Payne, age 73, of Turkey died early Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his home.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Resthaven cemetery of Quitaque with Jerry Beck officiating.

Lonnie was born July 1, 1942 in Portales, NM to Hanzel and Henrietta (Woods) Payne and attended Silverton Schools.
If you knew him you know he did many things in his 73 years, including operating heavy equipment, ginning cotton, steal building construction and cowboy work.
His favorite thing however, was fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Payne.
He is survived by his two sons; Lonnie Wayne Payne of Chandler, OK, Larry Wade Payne of Quitaque, 2 daughters; Lisa Almand of Quitaque, Linda Hinijosa and husband Tony of Shawnee, OK, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a brother; Earl Payne and wife Ann of Kyle, OK, a sister; Donna Green and husband Danny of Kyle, Texas, many nephews and nieces.

Geneva Bennett, age 84, of Floydada, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Floydada.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Floydada with Ken Peterson officiating. Interment
will follow at the Floydada cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 01, 2016 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Evelyn Joyce Jones Williams

Evelyn Joyce Jones Williams was born on November 3, 1928 in Dalhart, Texas to Edgar James Jones and Bernice Snell Jones.
She died on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at the City Park Church of Christ in Floydada.
Graveside Service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Truscott cemetery in Knox County, Texas.
Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Joyce grew up in Truscott, Texas, graduated from Crowell High School in 1945.
She attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas.
In 1947 she married
Q.D. Williams at her parent's home in Truscott, Texas.
She and Q.D. lived on the JY Ranch and later moved to the T Bar Ranch in Blanco Canyon.
Later Joyce and QD purchased the headquarters of the T Bar where they raised their 3 children and nine foster children.
Joyce was active in the Floyd County Community.
She served as a 4-H Leader and was past president of the Lakeview Home Demonstration Club and the 1929 Study Club.
She was a member of Lubbock Christian College Associates.
Joyce was a charter member in the founding of the Floyd County Historical Museum.
She served as a hostess at the Ranching Heritage Center.
Joyce was a Charter Director of the Massie Activity center and served on the Floyd County Pioneer Association, Floyd County Dare Care and The Friends of the Crosby County Library.
She was active in her church, the City Park Church of Christ where she served as a teacher, hosted youth devotionals, and as a nursery worker.
She was also a regular volunteer cook at the White Rive Youth Camp.
Joyce wrote columns for the Floyd County Hesperian, and was once a stringer for the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
With her own children in school Joyce resumed her own education.
She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1970 and was certified in both Home Economics and Special Education.
She was life member of Texas State Teacher Association and held various positions within the Floydada TSTA Chapter, including 2
terms as president.
Joyce was inducted in Delta Kappa Gama, an international teacher's organizations.
She was a member of the Vocational Home Economics Teacher Association of Texas.
She was active in Scouts serving as a Girls Scout Leader in Crosbyton and Floydada.
She planned day camps at the Bridwell Ranch and Silver Falls Park.
Joyce initiated a Candy Striper Program with the Caprock Hospital of Floydada.
Joyce and husband Q.D. opened their ranch for a two week Senior Girl Scout Ranch Merit Program.
She served on the Lubbock Girl Scout Headquarters.
In 1996, Joyce was selected as a Woman of Distinction for her years of involvement in the Girl Scouts, school, church and civic activities.
She is survived by son; James and wife Cyndi of Lubbock, their children; Austin Williams and Ashleigh Baumgarten and her husband Jeremy and their children Kael, Hayes and Rayne, daughter; Nancy Farrington and husband Mark of Amarillo, their son Cortney Goodwin and his wife Ayumi, her daughter, Hillary Goodwin and her children, Zach, Sterling and Dakota Hilyer, son; Monte Wiliams and wife Kellie of Floydada and their daughters, Tara Williams and Amanda Hinsley and husband Todd and their children Reese and Cooper.
She is survived by a sister; Clara Brown of Truscott, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, James Jones and Vernon Jones and sister, Norma Lee.

Jesus "Jesse" Morales, age 57, of Floydada, passed away, Monday, June 6, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Father Ike Temporanza officiating.
Burial will follow at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada.
Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Jesse was born on August 21, 1958 to Francisco and Florinda (Zambrano) Morales in Odem, TX.
Jesse was one of the founders of the Floydada Tiger League.
He loved the Floydada community.
His passion were the children of this community and was involved as a coach and referee for many years.
He loved everything about Nascar, he enjoyed traveling and adored his family but loved his Lord Jesus most of all.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; Francisco and Florinda Morales, his brother; Jose Luis Barrera and two sisters; Maria Elia Barrera and Francisca Garcia and a niece; Lisa Martinez.
He is survived by his wife; Irene Morales of Floydada; two sons; Joshua "J.J." Morales of Floydada, Jacob Morales and wife Allison of McPherson, KA, two grandchildren; Aven Michelle Morales of Wakeeney KA and Asher Jenson Morales of McPherson, KA, siblings; Francisco Morales, Jr. and wife Christina of Lubbock, Janie Flores and husband Julio of San Antonio, Tino Morales and wife Frances of Amarillo, Rosa Garza and husband John of Brownfield, Thelma Martinez and husband Joe of Amarillo, Mary Ann Juarez and husband Pete of Snyder, Carmen Blanco and husband Eli of San Antonio, Yolanda Morales and friend Sonny of San Antonio, Sandra Chavez and husband Frank of Marble Falls, Amado Morales of Floydada, Martin Morales and wife Mary of Floydada.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

James Willson

James M. Willson Jr. passed away April 9, 2016.
Jimmy was born November 30,1921 in Hale Center, Texas to J.M..Willson Sr. and Mavis Terry Willson.
He completed secondary education at Floydada High School and college education in accounting at S.M.U.
He served in the army in WW II and married
Anne O'berry Newman in 1946.
They were in the lumber and hardware business in Floydada until 1989.
He served many public service jobs during his life including Methodist Lay Leader, city mayor as well as being a 50 year plus member of Boy Scouts, Rotary International and Lions Club among many other organizations.
His first love was work on behalf of Freemasonry and its charities.
Jimmy served as Grandmaster of Texas Masons as well as an officer in four national masonic organizations.
Dad truly believed that "....no man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child".
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
He is survived by five children: Mac Willson, Linda Noy and husband Nick, Jane Traugott and husband Joe, John and Terry.
Graveside service with Masonic Rites will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada.
Memorial Service will be 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Floydada with Ken Peterson officiating.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
