Mildred M. Jones of Shepherd, Texas passed away at the Cleveland Regional Medical Center on June 19, 2004 at the age of 84. She was born in San Augustine, Texas to Johnathan Lawrence and Martha Jane Couey on January 1, 1920.
She is survived by her husband, James O’zell Jones; daughter, Patricia Ann Simpson and husband, Morris Glen III; grandchildren, Karen Summers and husband, Dwain, Angela McGowen and husband, James Jr., Tricia Simpson and fiancée, Kenneth Watson, Glenn Simpson and wife, Wenona; great-grandchildren Erikka and Trey Summers, Jordan and Haley McGowen, Dakotah Simpson; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Bro. Jack Baggett conducted the funeral service held Wednesday, June 23, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.
HOFFPOWIER
Gladys M. Hoffpowier of Cleveland, Texas passed away June 21, 2004 at the age of 94 years, born in Kansas October 25, 1909 and lived most of her life in Texas. She was succumbed to Alzheimer’s at the age of 93 years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Harry C. Hoffpowier.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma West and husband, Marvin; son, Maurice Hoffpowier and wife, Sharon; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment was at San Jacinto Memorial, Houston, Texas.
GOODMAN
Shelby “Pop” Gene Goodman, of Splendora, Texas passed away Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the age of 71. He was born in Paris, Texas to George and Agnes Goodman on January 15, 1933 both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gaile Goodman; daughters, Barbara McKee and husband, Gary, Debbie Biddle and husband, Dennis, Terry Goodman, Beverly Goodman; adopted daughter, Sandra McShaw; grandchildren, Shanon McKee, Shawn McKee, Eric McKee, Debbie Jo Biddle, Ashley Goodman; great-grandchildren, Tyler McKee, Brooklyn McKee; honorary member and his favorite daughter, “Baby”; and countless friends beyond measure.
Funeral services were conducted by Larry Don McKee, Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Rosewood Cemetery, Texas.
ORTON
Inez Carrie Orton, age 85, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004. She was born in Houston, Texas to Frank Alonzo and Minnie U’ella Burrows on December 3, 1918. She had many opportunities to travel and in her travels made numerous friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Jimmie Madaline Cruse Logan of Katy, Texas, Gloria Orton Copley and husband, Raymond J. of Dennison, Texas, Tina Orton Wagner and husband, Lloyd L. of Baytown, Texas; sister Juanita Goodrum Carpenter of Marshall, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and countless friends beyond measure. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Orton and her son, William Pat Cruse, Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Raymond Dale Walker officiated with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
WALKER
Robert Earl Walker, age 86, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, November 29, 2004. He was born in Esperanza, Texas to Monroe and Annie Walker on May 12, 1918. He was married to his loving wife 61 years. He was a long-time member of Rural Shade Baptist Church; he retired from Gulf Coast Industry at Exxon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Walker of Cleveland, Texas; daughters, Mary Anne Hudgins and husband, Roy of Cleveland, Texas, Robin Elaine Owens and husband, Glen of Buffalo, Texas, Betty Charlene Chapman and husband, T.K. of Cleveland, Texas; son, Kenneth Earl Walker and wife, Lilly of Buffalo, Texas; sister, Falma Walding of Conroe, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and countless friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Rural Shade Baptist Church, Tarkington, Texas. Rev. Byron Reeves and Rev. Byron Allen conducted the service with interment at County Line Cemetery, Willis, Texas. A special thank you to the Pallbearers, L.G. Walker, R.J. Marvin Arnold Gilmore, age 78, of Pasadena, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004. He was born August 16, 1926 in Sour Lake, Texas to Elgin and Monie Gilmore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Gilmore; daughter, Connie Adams and husband, Rick of Cleveland, TX; sons, Stanley Gilmore and wife, Linda of Cleveland, TX, Raymond Wilson, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Pasadena, TX; sisters, Mildred Molnari of Marietta, GA, Lois Kirtley of Kingwood, TX; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews and a countless friends.
