Eggleston
Earl Roy Eggleston, 73, of Houston, died Monday, October 3, 2005, at his residence in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10 Am to 2 Pm, Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Earl was born September 21, 1932 in Dunkerton, IA, to parents; Ernest and Florence Firestone Eggleston, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in the Houston area for the past 37 years. He was a graduate of the Aurora High School class of 1949, had attended Fayette University in Iowa, veteran of the US Army with service during the Korean War, retired superintendent for T. O. James Construction of Waco after 35 years of employment, and enjoyed using his metal detector, fishing, hunting, woodworking and carpentry, and playing cards.
Mr. Eggleston was preceded in death by his parents, son: Michael Wayne Eggleston, and sister: Delores Stevenson. He is survived by his wife: Claudia Hansen Eggleston of Houston, sons: Pat Eggleston and wife Barbara of Dayton, Rick Eggleston and wife Meredith of Tomball, and Jeff Howlett and wife Jane of Bristol, RI, daughters: Lori Sager and husband James of Highlands, Lisa Wilson and husband Mike of The Woodlands, Carrie Howlett of Houston, and Lisa Womack and husband Hurl of Houston, sister: Barbara Wilcox of Milaca, MN, brother-in-law: Steve Stevenson of Mansfield, 12 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 7707 Fannin St., Houston, TX 77054.
Henderson
Bessie M. Keith Henderson, 91, of Hull, died Sunday, October 9, 2005, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Alexander Campus.
Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with graveside services at 4 Pm, Thursday, at the Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Bessie was born June 17, 1914 in Edna, to parents; Martin L. and Nancy Leona Quattlebaum Keith, a former resident of Bay City and Lawrence, KS, and was presently a resident of the Hull-Daisetta area. She was a homemaker, member of the United Pentecostal Church, and enjoyed reading her bible, listening to gospel music, crocheting, and quilting.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her father: Martin Looper Keith, mother: Nancy Leona Quattlebaum Black, husband: John D. Henderson, son: James ‘J.D.’ Henderson, brothers: Thomas and John Henry, and sisters: Josephine and Lillian. She is survived by her daughters: Joyce DeBarge and husband Sonny of Hull and Aline Holtzman and husband J. of Lawrence, KS, sons: John E. Henderson and wife Myrtle of Houston, Ken Henderson of Livermore, CA, and Levy Henderson and wife Peggy of Greenville, SC, brothers: William B. Keith and James Black, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tolbert
Helen Tolbert, age 79, of New Caney, Texas passed away Sunday, October 9, 2005. She was born in Vivian, Louisiana to Morris and Carrie Sandlin on August 22, 1926.
She is survived by her husband, Sterling O. Tolbert, daughter, Linda Hogan Dibble, son, Donald Eugene Hogan, six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and caring friends. She is preceded in death by her, grandson, Michael Eugene Lehnis; three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Andy Hunt of New Caney Family Worship Center, conducted the service with interment at Oak Shade Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
DUMESNIL
Robert Charles Dumesnil, age 67, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, Octobeer 10, 2005. He was born to Claude C. and Eula Paula Dumesnil in Houston, Texas on November 3, 1937. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked for Port-Terminal as an engineer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Koska Dumesnil; daughters, Cindy, Caroline; sons, Robert C. Dumesnil, Jr., Robert Lynn Dumesnil, Teddy Koska, John Hagan, Kenny Dumesnil, Charles Dumesnil, John Dumesnil; sisters, Claudia, Elizabeth and Dorris; brothers, Jack Dumesnil, Ray Dumesnil; grandchildren, Julie Lynn Dumesnil, Andrew Koska, Dorothy Koska, Pauline Koska and Gage Dumesnil and many other loving and caring family members and friends.

Peerless E. Jefferson, age 80, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, October 10, 2005. He was born in Hugo, Oklahoma to Wallace and Rosa Jefferson on July 10, 1925. He is survived by his loving wife, Nita Beth Jefferson; son, Charles Jefferson; daughters, Brenda Kelley and husband, Tommy, Diane Gretencord and husband, David; grandchildren, Randy Robertson, Tom Kelley, Bill Kelley, Clark Jefferson, Jeremy Gretencord, Sunny Marsh; great-grandchildren, Makayla Jefferson and Lexi Banks; sisters, Mary Francis Jefferson Yeary, Colleen Jefferson Butcher; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family members and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Palmer Stephens. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 13, 2005, 3:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Reeves of Rural Shade Baptist Church conducted the service with interment at Cleveland, Memorial Park Cemetery with pallbearers, Larry Allen, Ed Briggs, Wesley Celestine, Heron Espinoza, Russell Parsons and Lito Rodriguez.
David Barclay Opryshek, age 17, of Splendora, Texas, passed away October 10, 2005. He was born in Houston, Texas to Karl Opryshek and Angela L. Ott on July 11, 1988. He was a Baptist in faith and lived in the Cleveland Community for 14 years.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 15, 1005, 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Carl Williamson conducting the service. A Scholarship Fund is being set up in lieu of flowers.
MEEKS
Steven Matthew Meeks, age 34, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005. He was born in Cleveland, Texas to Jessie and Marie Lorene Meeks on October 9, 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Meeks; daughter, Morgan Lorene Meeks; sisters, Patricia Franklin, Barbara Mitchell, Virginia Wheat, Charlotte Flynn, Jessie Lang; brother, Ronald Harp; nephews, Victoria Eason, Jody Franklin, Cassie Halbrooks, Melissa Harp, Lisa Harrell, Amanda Arrendell, Danielle Lang, Elizabeth Lang; many other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Meeks; mother, Margie Meeks; brothers, Donald Harp and Kenneth Meeks.
Graveside services were held Friday, October 14, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
Ross
Nadine May Ross, 75, of Liberty, died Thursday, October 13, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Sunday, October 16, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Nadine was born December 20, 1929 in Liberty, to parents; Lou and Emma Holland May, and has resided in the Liberty area throughout her life. She was a homemaker and member, Sunday school teacher, and nursery volunteer at the Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. She also enjoyed Embroidery, sewing, painting, gardening, and working crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Jewel Payne. She is survived by her husband: J.D. Ross, Jr. of Liberty, son: David Ross and wife Susan of Rockwood, TN, daughter: Debbie Graves and husband randy of Dayton, sisters: Dorothy ‘Aunt Cupie’ Cornelius of Liberty and Maxine Ray of Cleveland, brother: E. B. Young of Hardin, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
BOWER
Christine Bower, age 91 born July 31, 1914, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005. She is survived by her sister, Frankie Matthews and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and caring friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Bower. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 16, 2:30 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Herbert Zimmerman conducted the service with interment at Hayman Cemetery.
