Blum
Joseph Lane Blum, 55 of Dayton, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at home after an extended illness.
He was born September 28, 1950 in Baytown, to parents Douglas and Roberta Tompkins Blum. He has lived in the Dayton area for the past two years and was previously of Highlands. He was an instrument tech. in the construction business. He enjoyed racing cars with his son Jay, also hunting and fishing.
Mr. Blum is survived by his parents: Douglas and Roberta Blum of Livingston; son: Jay Blum and wife Kris of Baytown; Daughter: Chelsea Walls and husband David of Dayton; Brothers: Chuck Blum and wife Kim of Baytown, Tim Blum of Livingston, and Lynn Blum of Livingston; three nieces: Stephanie, Crystal and Ruby; one nephew: Robert Thomas Blum; one grandchild: Dylan.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.
SANBORN
Irene Farrell Sanborn, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away February 14, 2006 at the age of 91. She was born in Evergreen, Texas to George and Nellie Hightower on September 18, 1914.
She is survived by a brother, George E. Hightower (Pat) and his wife, Thora of Coldspring, Texas, a sister-in-law, Bea Hightower of San Antonio, Texas, five nieces and nephews, Sylvia Butler and her husband, Ronnie of Port Neches, Texas, Douglas Wheeler and wife, Elizabeth of Coldspring, Texas, Frances Jamar of Coldspring, Texas, Don Hightower and wife, Tana of Bridge City, Texas, Irby Hightower of San Antonio; nine great-nieces and nephews; eight great-great-nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and caring friends. She is preceded in death by a husbands, Larry Farrell and Charles Sanborn; a brother, Albert Hightower, and a sister, Mary Wheeler.
Mrs. Sanborn retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone, Cleveland, with 30 years of service. While there, she worked as a telephone operator, chief operator, and service assistant.
Mrs. Sanborn was a member of Thee Evergreen Church, the Cleveland and the Shepherd Chapters of the Eastern Star, and the SBC Telephone Pioneers.
Rev. Dearing Jones conducted funeral services held Friday, 10:00 a.m., February 17, 2006 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Coldspring Texas with interment at The Evergreen Cemetery.
EDWARDS
William L. Edwards, “Dub” of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006. He was born in Butler, Texas to William L. and Lena Edwards, on November 20, 1933.
He is survived by his daughters, Norma Fry, Melody True and husband, Kenneth, Nancy Woodard; son, William L. Edwards, “Billy” and wife, Shelia; sisters, Lavern Means, Pat Toombs, Billie Endersbee; grandchildren, James Fry, John Fry, Jason True, Brandon True, Tiffany Kenner, Clancy Woodard and many other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Edwards.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Jimmy Clemmons will conduct the service with interment following at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Visitation at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
GOLDEN
LALA FAYE GOLDEN, age 78, passed away Friday, February 17, 2006. She was born in Splendora, Texas to Leonard and Lesta Partain on November 14, 1927.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Harper, Danny Golden, Larry Golden, Michael Golden, Gail Zievert, Loretta Popko, Carol Golden; brother, Milton Partain and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

White
Linda M. Ulkie White, 51, of Dayton, died, Saturday, February 18, 2006, at the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 Pm, Monday, February 20, 2006, at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial following at Linney Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, with rosary services at 7 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Linda was born October 9, 1954 in Dayton, to parents; L. J. and Sadie Gregory Ulkie, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout her life. She was a farmer, graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1973, Liberty County Master Gardner, member of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and former Alter Guild member, member of the American Rose Society, former Dayton High School employee, and enjoyed gardening, rose gardening, crocheting, and cooking.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, brother: James Ulkie, and sister: Dorothy Graves. She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Pat White of Dayton, daughter: Kristie Marcontell and husband Ronnie of Dayton, son: James P. ‘Jimmy’ White, Jr. of Dayton, brothers: Johnny Ulkie and wife Shirley of Dayton and Archie Ulkie and wife Patsy of Dayton, sister-in-law: Donna Ulkie of Dayton, three grandchildren: Jordan, Elanie, and Brittanie, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
MAJNIK
Annie Rajak Majnik, 95, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006, in Houston, TX. She was born April 5, 1910 in Somerset, CO to Frank and Ana Rajak. Her family moved to Texas when she was 3 years old. She married the love of her live, John Majnik on July 5, 1928, and shared 68 wonderful years with him. She loved the outdoors especially fishing, gardening and summers in Colorado. Her hands were those of a woman who loved to crochet and cook. She raised two lovely daughters, helped raise 6 grandchildren and enjoyed 3 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Majnik was preceded in death by her husband, John Majnik; granddaughter, Nina Ann Cohn; sisters, Mary Rajak and Sophie Hart; and brother, Frank Rajak, Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Sadie Ann Cohn of Cleveland, TX and Lillian Majnik Mullen and husband, Joe of Houston; sisters, Zora Grupa, Frances Grichar, and Angeline Gaddis; grandchildren, Joe Norman Mullen, Jr. Otis Malcolm Cohn, Jr., John Stephen Mullen, Mary Elaine Mullen Melendrez, and Mollie Cohn Lambert; and great-grandchildren, Noah Melendrez, Eli Melendrez, and Anna Claire Lambert.
The family will receive friends at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Larry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Dunn
David D. “Smokey” Dunn, 65, of Dayton, died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
David was born November 14, 1940 in Tacoma, WA, to parents; Ralph E. Dunn and Laura Bennett, was a former resident of Crosby and Rye, and has resided in the Dayton area for 32 years: He was a retired self-employed carpenter, high school graduate of San Bernardino, had attended the Riverside Community College and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby. He also enjoyed photography and reading.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his father: Ralph E. Dunn, stepfather: Elmer “Lee” Kalles, brother: James E. Dunn, and sister: Kay Joann Dunn. He is survived by his son: Dominic Dunn of League City, daughter: Margaret Hannah of Houston, mother: Laura Bennett Kalles of Dayton, sister: Dorothy Burbank of Dayton, brothers: Marvin R. Jackson of OH and Patrick L. Jackson of WA, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
COCHRAN
OLIVER JOHN “O.J.” COCHRAN, age 82, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2006. He was born in Prichard, Alabama to Ottie Leon and Marie Cochran on September 25, 1923 of whom preceded him in death along with his wife, Bessie Peppenhorst Cochran; brother, Leon Cochran; and his granddaughter, Sherri Cochran.
He was a carpenter and had a remodeling business in the Houston area. Later, he was a pipe fitter and maintenance foreman.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Cochran Butcher; son, Harrell Bruce Cochran; grandchildren, Christopher Butcher, Elaine Claire Tackett and husband, Steve; sister, Bessie May Turner and Jessie Mae Turner, Essie Ray Busby, Shirley Marie Ambrose; brother, Earl Cochran and wife, Jo Beth and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.
Pastor John Heimann of Rosenberg, Texas conducted graveside services, Thursday, February 23, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
