Robin Renee Michel of Kingwood, Texas, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006 at the age of 41. She was born in Houston, Texas to Hugh F. and Margaret Johnson on November 10, 1964.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Michel; step-sons, Brad Michel, Ryan Michel; parents, Hugh F. and Margaret; brother, Chris Johnson; sisters, Lisa Napier and husband, David, Lori Erickson and husband, Dennis; nephews, Jacob Napier, Samuel Napier, Ryan Johnson, Nicholns Johnson; niece, Kristen Phillips; her special friend, “Beamer”; with man aunts, uncles and cousins and other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 15, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Mitchell Bell conducted the service with interment at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

BALLARD

Dorothy Ballard (mawmaw), age 74, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2006. She was born in Brazoria, Texas on February 3, 1932. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 18, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Ace Community Center, Romayor, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Lena and Tim Smith, Verna (Tuffie) and David Gillen, Judy and Jimmy Lewis; son Louis and Judy Lamb; sister, Lee Hooper; brothers, Hample Jackson, Frank Liggins, Ervin Liggins; grandchildren, Dana and David Collins, James and P.J. Hvamstad, Adam Hvamstad, Robert and Dottie Hvamstad, David (Bubba) and Tammy Gillen, Paul Hvamstad, Louis and Hope Lamb, Jr., Jody and April Lamb; great-grandchildren, Trevor Collins, James & Stephen and Arron Hvamstad, Kolby and Ricky Hvamstad, Katlynn and Cody Hvamstad, Chance and Kasi Jo Lamb, Haley and Autumn Lamb, Dalton and Lillian Gillen, Kaydance and T.J. Smith with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.

ATKINSON

Iva Atkinson, 86, of Livingston, Texas, passed away, Saturday, March 11, 2006. She was born in Centerville, Texas on April 10, 1919 to Thomas Sauel and Gertie Annie Shaw.

She is survived by her sons, James Earl and Joyce Atkinson (Step-Son), Gary Lee and Beth Atkinson, Larry Lynn Atkinson; daughters, Geraldine and John Thompson, Ann and Melvin Holifield, Minnie Haynes, Lynda and John Elliot, Joan and James Dobson, Hope and Steve Sartor with numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving and caring family members. She is preceded in death by her son, Johnie Delbert Atkinson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 16, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Melvin Holifield conducted the service with interment at Boykin Chapel Cemetery, Flo, Texas.

PETERSON

Jay Joseph Peterson, age 86, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2006. He was born in Canada on September 10, 1919 to Antonio and Catherine Peterson.

Lorene Smith, age 76, passed away Mon., 3/13/06. Arrangements were made under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

TURNER

Caleb Scott Turner (Infant) born March, 14, 2006 and died March 14, 2006. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Patty Turner; grandparents, Sandra Turner, Doug and Sharon McLaughlin; great-grandmother, Nan Pierce; sister, Leeann Turner; aunts and uncles, Tracy and Shelby Turner, Matt and Monica Smith; cousins, Shaylee Dalton and Corbin Turner, Marley and Mattie Smith and a host of other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Turner. Rev. Melvin Holifield conducted graveside services held Friday, March 24, 2006, 10:00 a.m., Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

TANTON

Mary Roseann “Curly” Tanton, 50, of Liberty died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at home after an extended illness. She was born November 17, 1955 in Fred, Texas to parents, Daniel Alfred and Verna Freeman Moore. She had lived most of her life in Liberty where she worked as a CNA. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed knitting, cooking and quilting.

Service for Mrs. Tanton will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Brother J.O. Hendricks and Pastor JoAnne Vinning officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Mrs. Tanton was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband: Bobby J. Tanton of Liberty; daughters: Charlotte “Nay Nay” Eberlee and husband Cameron of China, Texas; Mary Roseann “Sweet Pea” Jackson and husband Travis of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Verna “Bright Eyes” Tanton and husband O’Neal of Liberty, Texas; sons: Bobby J. “Peddy” Tanton and wife Lisa of Liberty, Texas and Steven Tanton of Brenham, Texas; eleven grandchildren; three brothers and six sisters, also numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2006, 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

COX

Juanita Maye Cox of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the age of 72. She was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana on April 29, 1933.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Jean Fuselier and husband, David; son, James R. Hill; sisters, Louise Denmon, Minnie Denmon, JoAnn Brady, Betty Venhouse; grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Tracy and Geoffery Fuselier; great-grandchild, Amy Marie Fuselier and many other loving family members.

Services were held Sunday, March 19, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Opal Alline Wills of Livingston, TX, passed away Fri., 3/17/06 at the age of 92. Funeral services were held Sun., 3/19/06, 4:00 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, TX with interment at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, TX.

Prather “Dick” Dickerson, 80, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Cleveland Regional Hospital. He was born in Clark County, Arkansas on November 22, 1925 to Robert and May Dickerson. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Dickerson; sons, Michael Dickerson and wife, Debra, Kerry Eugene Dickerson; daughters, Lillie Busby and husband, Maurice

Kathleen Grimes and husband, Melvin, Joan Dickerson; grandchildren, Anna Marie, and Donna Sheamane, Rickie Wood, Beth Coody, Slade Coody, Michael Dickerson, Jr., Anna Dickerson, Autumn Dickerson, great-grandchildren, Alayna Wood and Brett Dickerson; brothers, James Dickerson and Billy Jackson; sister, Ethel Mae Dickerson and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 17, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Pin Oak Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor George Hayden conducted the service with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

Ervin K. Whitmire, age 87, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006. He was born in Fostoria, Texas to Frank E. and Willie Irona Whitmire on August 9, 1918.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret H. Whitmire; daughters, Gayle LaGrander, Sharon and Claude Thibodeaux, Joni and Tommy Morton; sons, Ronnie and Mary C. Whitmire, Doug and Mary L. Whitmire, Charles and Robin Whitmire; grandchildren, Alana Whitmire, Tina Hobbs, Tonya and Randy Lucas, Douglas Whitmire, Jr., Tommy and Megan Morton, Brent Whitmire, Travis Thibodeaux, Andrea and Greg Garcia, Jesse Morton, and Kendal O’Brian; great-grandchildren, Randy Lucas, April Lucas, Caleb Garcia, and MaKayla Morton; sisters, Vivian and Tommy Hightower, Gladys Jackson; brother, Lubie and Lucille Whitmire and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by Irene Holbrook, Savannah Smith, Addie-Belle Bryant, Raymond Whitmire, Cammid Whitmire, Chris Hobbs (Grandson), Richard LaGrander (son-in-law).

Funeral services were held Friday, March 24, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Mitchell Bell and Pastor Adrian Littlefield conducted the service with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
