MEATTE
Benny Floyd Meatte, 48, of Splendora, Texas, passed away September 30, 2006. He was born February 25, 1958 in Hollywood, Florida to Morris Mathew and Mary Emma Meatte of whom preceded him in death along with his brothers, Michael Meatte and Morris Meatte, Jr.; and his sister Joyce Taylor.
Benny worked at Harris County Facilities and Property Management for 24 years; he was a Little League Baseball Coach for 13 years and truly enjoyed every minute he spent with the kids.
Benny is leaving behind his loving wife, Brenda; and sons, Michael Shannon Meatte and wife, Elizabeth and Shawn Meatte; brothers, Terry W. Meatte and wife, Lanell of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, Mark A. Meatte of Tarkington Prairie, Texas; sisters, Hilda Orman of Houston, Texas, Linda Fielder of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Bertie Mott and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and caring friends.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006, 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Splendora under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
BAILEY
Dolly Elnora Bailey went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the age of 103.
Dolly was born May 18, 1903 in Cleveland, Texas, the daughter of the late James Marlin Grady and Pearl Riggs Grady.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Graham Bailey and sister, Nancy Laura Stavinoha.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Louise Jasper and husband, Henry S. Jasper, Jr., her grandsons, James Henry Jasper, and wife, Claudette Jasper, Glenn Martin Jasper and wife, Kay Jasper, Robert Dean Jasper and wife, Lisa Jasper, her great-grandchildren, Amy Kristen Parker and husband, Kevin Parker, Brent Martin Jasper, Justin Hayward Jasper and wife, Annalisa Jasper, James Ryan Jasper, Lindsay Kay Jasper, Geoffery Dean Jasper and Jonathan Garrett Jasper, Dominic Michael Tortorice and wife, Brandi Tortorice, Vanessa Michelle Tortorice; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Claire Parker and Emma Michelle Tortorice.
Dolly received a Bachelor of Education Degree from Sam Houston State University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Houston.
She taught school for 46 years, primarily in the Cleveland area.
She was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Cleveland, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She touched many lives, both as teacher and through her church activities.
Dolly will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services were held at First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Texas on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.
Interment followed at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Cleveland, Texas.
ROBB
Gilbert Arlan Robb, age 58, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006. He was born in Camp Camble, Kentucky to Gilbert Henry and Greta Robb on March 3, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Robb; sons, Robert Robb and wife, Paula, Gilbert H. Robb, Wayne Fowler and wife, Denise, Dale E. Fowler and wife, Chaunteal; daughters, Renee Robb, Dianna Walker and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Delores, Jessica, Tyler, Adam, Zach, Jessie Krystal, Michael, Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Alisae and many more loving family members and caring friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, October 7, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
ARD
Kayleb Dale Ard, 18, of Tarkington Prairie, Texas passed away, Monday, October 2, 2006. Kayleb was born to James and Susan Ard on August 10, 1988 in Woodville, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Oscar Ard, John Ard; grandmothers, Peggy Alexander and Ollie Alexander; great-grandmother, Mary Dean; aunt, Kay Walters; uncles, Robert Ard, Mike Hearn and Don Hearn.
He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Jerry Alexander, W.B. Bailey, Sarah Ard, Darlene Ard; brothers, Jake Ard and wife, Amanda, Jerry Ard; aunts and uncles, Beth Hearn, Denise and Gary Johnson, Tracy Litton, Steve Hearn, Clint Walters, Chris and Tammy Ard, Gary and Linda Ray, Billy and Suzanne Ray, Kevin and Robin Ray and many other loving family members and friends beyond measure.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Shade Baptist Church, Tarkington Prairie, Texas with interment at Oak Shade Cemetery.
STANSELL
Avis Lynn Stansell, 73, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away, October 2, 2006. Funeral services were held Friday, October 6, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Coldspring, Texas with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
BLANKS
Douglas Holland Banks, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the age of 59. He was born in Conroe, Texas on November 5, 1947 to Robert Ed and Mamie Walker Blanks, both of whom preceded him in death along with his brother, Edward Leon Blanks.
He is survived by his daughters, Becky Sue Cleary and Angela Beacon; sisters, Janice Bailey, Mary Faulkner and husband, Jerry, Cindy Connors; special friends, Joe Jones and Mary Smith; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; special grandson he raised, Josh Jones along with numerous step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many caring friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Coldspring, Texas with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Stephen Creek, Texas.
Ashcraft
William E. Ashcraft, 71, of Anahauc died Friday, October 6, 2006 at home. He was born August 23, 1935 in Houston, Texas to parents, William Earl and Joy M. Ashcraft. He had worked as a welder and been a long time resident of Anahuac.
Memorial Service for Mr. Ashcraft will be 2:00 p.m., October 13, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his survived by his wife of 45 years: Judy Lynn Ashcraft; one son: William Stuart Ashcraft; two daughters: Audra Jannise and husband Steve and Lara Bednarz and husband Glen; seven grandchildren: Dustin and Darby DeVillier, Jared and Aimee Jannise, Mariah Ashcraft, Tyler and Timothy Bednarz; brother: Delbert Dean Ashcraft and wife JoAnn four nieces: Vicki Ashcraft, Dee Ann Smith, Melanie Ashcraft, and Dana Thames.
