TEMPLETON
Chester and Joyce Templeton, husband and wife of Cleveland, Texas, passed away October 20, 2006. Chester, was born in Milam County, Texas on June 265, 1929 and Joyce was born in Houston, Texas on October 10, 1937. Graveside services were held together on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Wells Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
GRANBERRY
Dorothy Lou Granberry, Coldspring, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2006. Born January 11, 1932 in El Paso, Texas, Lou and her husband, Irwin made their home in Victoria, Texas for thirty years before settling in Coldspring in 2003.
Lou was a member of Victory Gospel Church near Coldspring and a former member of Faith Family Fellowship in Victoria. Serving the Lord and sharing His love with others was her life’s call.
Lou was a co-founder of Pathway Ministries, a Christian counseling center in Victoria. She also taught in public education for seventeen (17) years for Victoria I.S.D.
Blessed with fifty-three years of marriage to her husband, she also leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Rick Zagar; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Teresa Granberry; grandchildren, Justin and Misty Granberry, Kristin and Ryan Jackson, Lauren and Tyler Maddox and David Zagar.
Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Caleb Bagley and Noah Granberry, siblings, Jo and B.R. McGinty, Sally and Jack Redford, Jerry and Steve Bargsley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Victory Gospel Church. Visitation will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m..

MARTIN
Modena (Dean) Martin passed away on Monday, October.23, 2006 in Temple, TX at age 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Martin of Cleveland, and her mother and father, Mary Louise and Edgar Y. Brooks of Livingston.
Dean is survived by her four children: Jack Martin and his wife Evelyn of Satellite Beach, FL; Judy Martin Knox and her husband, Alan of Reno, NV.; Skip Martin and Joni Jennings of Rockport, TX.; Nancy Martin of Salado, TX.
Dean was blessed with 8 grandchildren: John E., Jr. and Eric Martin; David Young and Kelly Bradley; Jeff Jarvis and Janet Martin; Kristanne Slayton and Chad Clubb; 12 great grand children: Lauren, Savannah, and John E. III (Trip) Martin; Clint, Brice, and Jesse (J.R.) Martin; Greg, Rebecca, and Steve Bradley; Sydney and Jeremy Jarvis; Zachary Slayton; and one (1) great, great grandchild, Staci Bradley.
Dean and B.B. moved to Cleveland in 1942 to found Martin Chevrolet Company and they were founding members of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church. During her nearly 50 years in Cleveland, Dean provided visionary education for youth as leader of a Junior Audubon Society and Cub Scout Troop. In her later years, she resided in Reno, Nevada with her daughters Nancy and Judy and her granddaughter, Kristanne.
Dean’s final transition was supported by the incredible staff at the Temple Meridian where she was surrounded by her family.
Services include a visitation at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crocket, Cleveland, TX on Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and funeral service at Pace Stancil Friday October 27th at 10:00 AM. Dean will be laid to rest next to her husband, B.B. Martin in Cleveland’s City Cemetery. Interment will be followed by a light lunch reception at the Methodist Church (…address).

Dobbs
D.C. “PeeWee” Dobbs, 67, of Bacliff, Texas died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at home surrounded by his beloved wife and children. He was born June 17, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma to parents, William F. and Eunice E. Taylor Dobbs. He had been a resident of the Bacliff area for over 60 years and was a 1957 graduate of Clear Creek High School. He had owned numerous businesses, was a pipe fitter and welder for over 25 years, and was retired as owner-operator of Dobbs Auto Sales and Wrecker Service in Bacliff. He was very active in local civic activities and continually helped those in need.
Services for Mr. Dobbs will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Newmann officiating. Interment will follow at French Cemetery in Kenefick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law: Lloyd “Skeet” Thornton. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years: Peggy Ilene Thornton Dobbs of Bacliff; children: Amie Westcott Peters and husband David of Bacliff, Debbi Thompson and husband Jimmy of Friendswood, Mindi Loret and husband Philip of Baton Rouge, and Tammy Mason of Crosby; grandchildren: Jason Thompson, Ashley Nelson, Jennifer Thompson, Ryan and Blake Fleming, Zachary Dean Peter and Bryce Mason; brother: Billy Dobbs and wife Betty of Bacliff; sister: Opal Forsythe and husband John of Florida; mother-in-law: Frances Thornton of Kenefick.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, Texas.

Barth
Maurine Bennett Barth, 69, of Dayton, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the Liberty Church of Christ with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm, Saturday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Maurine was born October 28, 1936 in Avoca, to parents; Cecil A. and Eula M. Baker Bennett, a former resident of Crockett, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 27 years. She was a retired classified ads manager for the Liberty Vindicator and former employee of the Mt. Pleasant Daily Tribune and Crockett-Houston County Courier newspapers. She was also a graduate of the Anson High School class of 1955, member of the Liberty Church of Christ, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, and collecting china rabbits and nutcrackers.
Mrs. Barth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Robert G. Barth of Dayton, sons: Mark Barth of Dallas and Danny Barth of Dayton, daughters: Glenda Lewis and husband Randy of Allen and Debbie Ivester of Waxahachie, grandchildren: Travis Barth of Denton, Andrea Jackson and husband Chris of Abilene, Robin Ivester of Abilene, and Clifton Ivester, Jr. of Waxahachie, sister: Rita Jan Boykin of Texas City, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Michael David Bain, age 38, passed away in a tragic accident on Thursday, October 26, 2006. Michael was born in Houston, Texas on September 5, 1968 to Luther A. and Frankie Bain. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Bain and his father-in-law, Roy Montgomery.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Bain and his son, Michael Anthony Bain; his parents; brothers, Christopher Bain and wife, Kandalynn, Matthew Bain; sisters, Lorri Chavis and Samatha Chavis; grandparents, Malcolm and Ginger Smith; aunt, Sheryn Major, uncle, Norris Russell, fiancé, Stephanie Dugger; mother-in-law, Elaine Montgomery; sister-in-law, Laura McNeil and husband, Eddie; brothers-in-law, Sam Helm and wife, Michelle; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Shaunnessy, Rebekah, Ryan, Kayla and many other loving family members and caring friends.

Bonnie M. (Hues) True 76, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006. She was born in Shepherd on April 2, 1930 to Thomas E. and Alice McGee Hues of whom preceded her in death along with her husband, Aaron J. True, daughter, Vivian Marie True. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Barron and husband, Douglas; sons, Kenneth D. True and wife, Melody; avid D. True and Gabriela, sisters, Betty Thornton, Vera Humbird, Patsy Thornton, Erma Chreene; brothers, Thomas Eldon “Punk” Hues, Jr., Thomas W. Hues; grandchildren, Billy J. True, Christy Barron, Dax M. Barron, Jason E. True, Travis T. Barrow, Lacy D. True, Brandon A. True, Pricila M. True, Paloa N. True with fifty-seven nieces and nephews along with so many other loving and caring family members and friends.
