Dolly Fay Jones, age 64, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007. She was born in DeBerry, Texas on May 30, 1943 to Odis and Emma Lorene Hill.
She is preceded in death by Virgil Glenn Jones. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Haden and Jim, Glenda Akins and Robert, Rhonda Estenson; son, Nickey Jones and Tammy; sisters, Geri Kirkland, Sadie Hill; brother, Jim Hill; grandchildren, Bobbie Autrand, Robby Akins, Robert Akins, Jr., Henry W. Boles, Merissa Mahan, Jeffery Boles Clint Jones; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Justin, Scarlet, Heaven, and Haley. Numerous nieces, nephews and many other cherished family members and caring friends.
Memorial services were held Sunday, September 30, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
Nowak
Myra Lynn Nowak, 58, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007. She was born in Houston, Texas on January 11, 1949 to J.L. and Billie Louise Scott.
She is preceded in death by her father, J.L. Scott; grandparents, Hollis Taylor, Gladys Scott, Ruby and Wilburn Beck; husband, John Louis Nowak; mother Billie Louise Teel; daughters-in-law, Sharon D’Lea Nowak, DeAnna Nowak; sons, John Mark Nowak, Richard Wayne Nowak, Thomas William Nowak; sister, Mary Catherine Jolly and husband Bobby; brothers, James Lee Scott and wife, June, Hollis Ray Scott and wife, Lynett; grandchildren, Brian Wayne Nowak, Meagan D’Lea Nowak, Daren Nowak, Aaon Nowak, Mark Daniel Nowak; nephews, Hollis Scott, Robert Lee Jolly, Calvin Wayne Jolly, David Nowak, nieces, Debra Lynn Scott, Disrea Marie Scott, Donna Scott, cousins, Sharon, Greany, along with so many other cousins, aunts, uncles and caring friends.

Street
Susan Jan Street, 53, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007. She and her identical twin, Sherrie Ann Divelbiss were born in Van Nuys, California, on June 28, 1954.
Services have been arranged through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
Conner
Thomas John Conner, 44, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Baytown after an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1963 in Liberty, Texas to parents, Charles and Willie Dempsey Conner. He was a lifelong resident of the Dayton area and attended Dayton High School. Tommy had worked as a service manager before retiring. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all.
Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Charles Pierce officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his brother: Chuck Conner and his sister: Cheryl Nugent. He is survived by his parents: Charles and Willie Conner of Dayton; his daughter: Ashley Cole Pevehouse of Dayton; his sons: Brandon Lee Conner and wife Kendra of Abilene, and Bradley Ashton Conner of Houston; one grandson: Kayden Conner; brother: Richard Conner of Houston; sisters: Ethel Hiriart and husband Sid of Houston; and JoAnn Gilliland and husband Mike of Liberty; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
McCool
Cleo Patrick Isbell McCool, age 70 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away in a tragic automobile accident on Sunday, September 30, 2007. She was born to Henry Vander and Pauline Ashworth in Groveton, Texas on January 12, 1937.
She loved her God and her family and was very much a home body because her home was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. They all loved eating it too; her homemade biscuits especially. She put a lot of heartfelt time in her yard, you could always tell because her yard was as clean as her house. She loved people and had lots of fun with all ages, all over Texas. You could see her through her beautiful bright eyes and shinning smile, she will surely be missed.
She is preceded in death by her by her husbands, Edgar Isbell and Gerald McCool; son, Edgar Isbell. Survivors include her sons, Larry Isbell and wife, Mary, Michael Isbell and wife, Jennifer, Henry Isbell and wife, Renée, daughters, Patricia Woodard and husband, Richard, Cynthia Lamb and husband, Lonnie, Mitzy Smith and husband, Jimmy; step-sons, Mike McCool, Steve McCool, Jerry McCool, Darrell McCool; grandchildren, Noah, Jerry, Richard, Kimberly, Misty, Christy, James, JoAnna, Lacy, Jimmie, Lindsey, Katelyn, Kevin, Kaila, and Rowdy; great-grandchildren, Little J, Gracie, Megan, Mandi, Myles, Hailey, Bryce, Cameron, Blayne, Trinity, Devon, Hope, and Jacie; brother, Cleon Ashworth, Dewey Ashworth, Charles Ashworth, and Grover Ashworth; aunt, Minnieola Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and a host of friends beyond measure.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2007, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Jerry Matthews will conduct the service with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Calvary Cemetery, Nogalus Prairie, Texas.
Knight
Madine “Walker” Knight, 83, of West Columbia, Texas, passed away at her residence Monday, October 1, 2007. She was born in Security, Texas on May 1, 1924 to Joseph L. “John” and Clemmie E. Walker. She has been a member of the community for 54 years, Baptist in faith and member of Wild Peach Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Curtis Walker, Suel Walker, Preacher Walker, J.C. Walker; sisters, Margie Andrews and Reba Stone. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Travis H. Knight; son, Travis Wayne Knight; daughters, Mary Jo Weathford and husband, Ray, Charlene Pierce and husband, Randy, Donna Sue Jakubec and husband, Otto; she was blessed with seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and caring friends.
Visitation will start at 8:30 prior to service time at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Morgan Cemetery.
Barnes
Lucille A. Barnes, 89, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2007. She was born in Lovelady, Texas on March 28, 1918 to Richard and Lillie Belle Atkinson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Bob Barnes; sister, Floy Dunkerly; and her brother, F.E. Atkinson.
Survivors include her son, Richard Barnes of Houston, Texas; nephews, Richard Atkinson and wife, Linda of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Charles Atkinson of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Mary Jo Havard and husband, Buckey of Tarkington Prairie, Texas and numerous caring friends.
Graveside services were held Thursday, October 4, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
Lilly
George Allen Lilly, age 60, of New Caney, Texas, passed away Tuesday. October 2, 2007. He was born to Emmit R. and Lyndal Lilly in Nacogdoches, Texas on March 13, 1947.
He was Methodist in faith and truck driving in life. He worked for Central Freight as a contract driver. He always enjoyed sports, fishing. He is also a former resident of Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his father, Emmit Lilly; brothers, Jimmy Howard and Joe Lynn Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Lagatha Lambert Lilly of New Caney, Texas; mother Lyndall Zezulka; daughter, Tabatha Lambert and husband, David of New Caney, Texas; sons, Ricky Lilly and wife, Michelle of Crosby, Texas, Joshua Lilly and wife, Nicole of New Caney, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Howard of Houston, Texas, Joe Lynn Williams of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Anna Lilly and Bryan Lambert with numerous nieces and nephews along with many other loving family members and caring friends.
Funeral services were held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, Saturday, October 6, 2007, 2:00 p.m. with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
Smith
David C. “Bubba” Smith, 56, of Huffman, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Huffman with burial following at Huffman Cemetery in Huffman. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
David was born September 4, 1951, in Pasadena, to parents; Billy Jean and Margie Nell Towler Smith, and has resided in the Huffman area throughout his life.
He graduated from the Humble High School class of 1969, had attended Lee College, was a shift supervisor for Arkema, Inc. of Crosby, and enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, and to tinker. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of four years: Brenda Harris Smith of Huffman, son: Kyle Smith of Huffman, daughters: Elizabeth Page and husband Forrest of Atascocita and Amber Sullivan of Seabrook, one grandchild: Tristin Page, parents: Billy J. and Margie Towler Smith of Huffman, brother: Donald R. Smith and wife Venita of Huffman, sister: Peggy J. Smith of Huffman, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
