Clarence Grady Holton was born in Merryville, LA, on the family farm August 19, 1924 to Cordie Coward and J.C. Holton but grew up in Jasper. He was married for 75 years to Gordon Elizabeth Holton (1942-2017). His children are Terry (Debby) Holton, Jacksonville, TX, Glenda (Bob) Flickner, Garland, TX, Beth (John) Griner, Ocala, FL., and Mark (Lisa) Holton, League City, TX. Eight grandchildren, Chris (Sandra) Holton, Russ (Rae Lynn) Holton, David Rodenberg, Rhonda (Jeremy) Gant, Joy (Chad) Chmelar, Melanie (Alex) Williams, Melissa Griner, and Brandy (David) Spear and step grand-daughters Brooke Lamb, Lindsay (Sam) Morrissey, and step grand-son Blake (Mary) Flickner and 25 great-grandchildren. His sister was, Gladys (Robert) Windham and his two nephews are Ron (Dorothy) and Jim (Sally) Windham. Grady served during WW II in the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate on the S.S. Carl Schurz and the S.S. Kit Carson in the South Pacific, and on the S.S. Czechoslovakia Victory making trips to Adak and Attu off the coast of Alaska. In 1952, he left the employment of the Gulf Refinery in Pt. Arthur to become owner/operator of Holton’s Service Station and Garage later known as Grady’s Tackle. He served the public for over 65 years as an honest, hard-working businessman and employer, a friend and listening ear to many loyal customers. He was a fisher of fish, as well as, a fisher of men, a man of God, a follower of Jesus Christ, a prayer warrior, a lover of God’s Word, and a long-time member of Gideon’s International known for distributing God’s Word. After becoming a Christian in 1971, at a Billy Graham Crusade in Dallas, TX. Grady’s life passion was to share God’s Word by giving New Testaments to people he encountered everywhere he went. His desire was for everyone to understand the Gospel, see their need for a Savior and have an opportunity to trust Christ for salvation and eternal life. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. On December 4, 2019, Grady heard those words all believers long to hear, “well done thy good and faithful servant”. Along with family and friends, former customers, and those who may have personally received a Gideon New Testament, or a kind and encouraging word from Grady, you are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at First Baptist Church of Jasper on Monday, December 9 at 11AM with visitation at 10AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shultz Funeral Home of Jasper.

Ellis Arthur Jr., 50, of Plum Ridge, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper. The family will greet friends on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper. On Saturday, December 7, 2019 the family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Tabernacle in Orange.
A native of Orange, TX, resident of Mauriceville, TX for many years. Ellis was born on April 15, 1969 to Frank Ellis Arthur Sr. & Francine Marie Hudnall. He spent his life as a Fabricator at American Airboats. Survivors include his wife Malissa Waterbury Arthur of Plum Ridge, TX; his mother Francine Todd & husband Clifton of Plum Ridge, TX; five sons Colby Lee Breaux of Vidor, TX, Kyle Waterbury of Plum Ridge, TX, Justin Waterbury of Hobbs, NM, Trey Arthur of Plum Ridge, TX and Jayson Waterbury of Hobbs, NM; a daughter Lindsey Arthur of Mauriceville, TX; a brother Clint Arthur & wife Sarah of Bastrop, TX; as well as a sister Celest Rouse & husband Steve of Jasper, TX.

David was born on September 29, 1948 to A.N. Lentz & Clara Jordan in Plymouth, North Carolina. From 1967 - 1972 he served in the U.S. Navy. April 29, 1991 he married the love of his life Wanda Ruth Griner. Preceded in death by his parents A.N. & Clara Lentz; a son Tony Lentz; as well as a sister Susan Shappley. Survivors include his wife of 28 years Wanda "Maw Maw" Lentz of Kirbyville, TX; five sons Jon Lentz & wife Leah of Natchitoches, LA, Mark Lentz & wife Courtney of Lafayette, LA, Marc Westbrook & wife Michelle of Newton, TX, Jamie Westbrook & wife Kim of Hemphill, TX and Andrew Westbrook & wife Cara of Hemphill, TX; a daughter Stacy Carnline & husband Larry of Erin, TX; as well as 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Glenn was born on June 06, 1981 to Katherine Kelemen & Glenn Craig Blank Sr. in Jennings, Louisiana. He spent his life helping and caring for others from volunteering at Jasper Volunteer Fire Department to a Director of Operations Paramedic at Stat Care EMS then there after a Sheriff Deputy at Jasper County Sheriff's Office where he served 7 years as Chief Deputy. A member of Treasure of Chief Deputy Association, TX Federal Agent/ U.S. Marshall , Chairman of EMS & Trauma Association, a Elder and Lay Minister of Jasper County Cowboy Church, as well as a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge in Jasper. Glenn had a passion for golf, hunting, fishing and grilling outdoors. Preceded in death by his mother Katherine Ann Blank and grandfather Johnny Kelemen Sr. Survivors include his father Glenn Craig Blank Sr. of Jasper, TX; three daughters Allison Paige Blank of Jasper, TX, Ravyn Nix & husband Jewett of Burkeville, TX and Hadlee Katherine Blank of Burkeville, TX; two brothers John Blank & wife Kayla of Lumberton, TX and Brantley L. Blank of Jasper, TX; a sister Katrina Townsend & husband Stan of Pine Prairie, Louisiana; grandmother Clara Kelemen of Jasper, TX; as well as a grandson Wyatt Paul Nix of Burkeville, TX.
