Travis Dwayne Wright "Mr. T", 58, of Kirbyville, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Avalon Place in Kirbyville. On Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 6:30 PM a Celebration of Dwayne's Life will be held at 4637 Randall Rd. Orange, TX.
Dwayne was born on June 12, 1961 in Lake Providence, LA to Travis Lamar & Alice Marie Wright. He spent his life as a sandblaster & painter. He is preceded in death by his father Travis Wright. Survivors include his mother Alice Wiggins of Kirbyville, TX; as well as three sisters Shanon Smith & husband Robert of Orange, TX, Lisa Courville & husband Paul of Breaux Bridge, LA and Sonia Delaware & husband Charles of Kirbyville, TX.

Sybil Annette Shillings "The Hat Lady", 91, of Jasper, passed away on October 09, 2019 at Rayburn Healthcare & Rehab in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Ebenezer Cemetery in Jasper. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Memory of Sybil Shillings to your charity of choice.
Sybil was born on July 28, 1928 in Colquitt, Georgia to Christine Bush. A member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Jasper since 1999. She is preceded in death by her husband John Shillings and her sons Mickey & Grady Shillings. Survivors include her son Ralph Shillings & wife Darlene of Toledo Bend, TX; grandchildren Dustin, Brandy, Grady Michael, Patti & Marcus; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
J.M. "Jackie" Strother
1930-2019
J.M. "Jackie" Strother, 89, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper to celebrate her life.
Born on May 16, 1930 to Minor & Mary Strother in Stevenson, Mississippi, Jackie was raised in the Bessmay Community and graduated from Buna High School in 1946. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and was a long-time resident of Jasper since 1950. She is survived by her son Clinton & wife Brenda Smith of Leesville, Louisiana; grandchildren Cara, Stephanie, Michael, Curt, & Molly; and great-grandchildren Douglas, Clay, Joseph, Brantley, Hunter, Mikayla, Dylan & Jeremiah.
ISABELLE WEAVER
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM for Isabelle Weaver of Jasper, who died Friday at Timberlake Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 86. The services will be held at the chapel of the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on North Main Street.
A native of Galveston, Mrs. Weaver had lived in Jasper for many years and worked as a book keeper for Mechanized Services of America.
She is survived by two sons; Miles Weaver of Vernal, Utah and Layne Weaver of Jasper, as well as seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be given to the Gideons, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.

Funeral services are pending at Robinson's Community Funeral Home for Eddie Palmer who died Monday following an illness at Jasper Memorial Hospital. A resident of Bon Wier, Mr. Palmer was sixty-six years of age.

Graveside Services for Charles Ray "Hound Dog" Shaw, 49 of Brookeland, will be 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 27, in My Little Corner of the World Cemetery near Brookeland. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakes Area Hospice, 254 Ethel Street, Jasper, Texas 75951.
Mr. Shaw died Monday, September 25, at this residence. He was a native of Newton and a lifelong resident of Brookeland. He was a truck driver for Jerry Burch, Inc.
He is survived by his father, Claude F. Shaw Jr. and mother, Doris Shaw of Jasper; his wife, Margie Leatherwood Shaw of Brookeland; a step son, Glenn McMahon of Vidor; a daughter, Lisa Anderson of Tyler; a brother, Larry Shaw of Montgomery; sisters, Carolyn Sue Armitage and brother-in-law John of Jasper, Donna Graham of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Sandra Rocheter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Uella Lewis of Newton, will be Thursday, September 28, at 11:00am at the Liberty Chapel Christ Sanctified Holy Church in the Liberty Community. Burial will follow in the Shankleville Community under direction of Coleman's Mortuary. A wake will be Wednesday, September 27, from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Coleman's Chapel in Newton. She was a native of Ridge, Louisiana and a resident of Newton for many years.
