Funeral services for Jarvis Gordon, 89, of Burkeville, will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper with burial to follow at the Toledo Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 12 noon.
Mr. Gordon died Sunday, at Timberlake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jasper. A native of Jones County, Mississippi and former Beaumont resident, he lived in the Burkeville area since 1982. He was very active in his church and community. He was also a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Helen Gordon of Burkeville, son, Dale Gordon of Panama City, Florida, daughter, Colleen Perry of Califor, New Jersey, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper.
Services are under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

LENA WHITTON SMITH
Funeral services for Lena Whitton Smith, 80, of Orange, will be Wednesday, at 2:00 PM at MacArthur Heights Baptist Church of Orange. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange County.
Mrs. Smith died on Monday at Spring Seasons Care Center in Vidor. She was an Avon representative, she formerly taught public school and actively served at MacArthur Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Derrell Smith of Orange, daughters, Karen Comeaux and Sharon Boberson both of Orange, brothers, Benton Whitton of Jasper and J.H. “Jack” Whitton of Pineland. He is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home of Orange.

CHRIS CRAIG
Funeral services for Chris Craig, 59, of Atlanta, Texas, will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Hanner Funeral Home in Atlanta, Texas. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Jasper.
Mr. Craig was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Beech Grove, Texas. He was also the Chief Engineer for Bowie Cass Electric Co-op and a member of the Lions Club in Atlanta, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Craig of Atlanta, Texas, mother, Marilynn Parker of Jasper, sons, Tim Craig of Kaufman, TX, Christopher Phalen and Daniel Phalen both of Houston, daughter, Melissa Craig of Atlanta, brothers, James Craig of Bryan, Texas, and Olen Craig of Highlands, TX and five grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service in Atlanta, TX.

Funeral services for Mary Hafford, 53, of Jasper, will be held on Saturday at11:00 AM at the Lone Star District Association Church in Jasper with burial to follow in the Huff Creek Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 -9:00 PM at Robinson Community Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hafford died Monday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Survivors include her husband, Curtis Hafford of Jasper, father, Thomas Monroe Adams of Jasper, sons, Thomas Hafford of Austin, Curtis Hafford Jr. of Waco, and Brent Hafford of New Orleans. She is also survived by two daughters, Brashanna Hafford of Livingston and Meghan Hafford of Jasper, one sister, Shirley Davis of Jasper, brothers, Sam Adams of Jasper, James Cheatham of Philadelphia, and Don Cheatham of Houston, and two grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services for Bledsoe Daniels, 86, of Newton, will be Thursday at noon at Liberty Baptist Church in Newton. A memorial service will be Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Liberty Community Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary.
He was a retired Agriculture Teacher from Newton High School and also a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife Faye Francis Daniels of Newton, two daughters, Joselle Williams of Dallas, and Olevia Lyons of Houston, and also seven grandchildren.
