Beverly Allen Etheridge, 56, of Florence, Colorado, formerly of Zavalla, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. A native of Doucette, Texas, and a longtime resident of Liberty, she had worked for several years as a CNA for a Veterans Home in Florence, and enjoyed craftwork, flower arranging, and adored her grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, April 11, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Oaks.
Survivors include her mother, Vernell Davis of Zavalla, Texas; her daughters, Heather Wilkerson & husband Billy of Taos, NM, Barbara Etheridge of Highlands, TX, and Elizabeth Hall & husband Ray of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Gilbert Allen & wife Betty of Pollok, TX, and Ronnie Allen & wife Cindy of Zavalla, TX; Sister, Lisa Bryan & husband Ernest of Zavalla, TX; her Auntie, Dorothy DuBose of Zavalla, TX; along with 7 grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bennie Rawls

Bennie Frank "Pete" Rawls, 80, of Jasper, passed away April 16, 2008 at his home. A native of Tyler County, he has been in Jasper for several years and enjoyed the company of his friends and music.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper with burial following at West Oaks Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Oaks.
Survivors include his wife, Loyce Holt of Jasper; son, Mike Rawls of Dallas, TX; step-daughters, Patricia, Stephanie, and Kathy; brothers, John Lewis Sr. and Edgar Lewis both of Jasper, TX; sisters, Jessie Bohler of Hearne, TX, Treba Bonner of Brazoria, TX, and Betty Owens and Sue McLeod both of Jasper, TX; along with 4 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
William Edward Holley "Bill"

Bill was raised as the son of a career USA Naval Sailor. His father was William Everett Holley, that tragically died on 9-14-1980, at the age of 41. Bill is survived by his mother, Ryna Ruth. His parents raised Bill and his siblings, Desiree and Everett. Most of Bill's youth was spent with his parents and siblings moving up and down the east coast as a military family. Upon retirement from the Navy, the family returned to Kirbyville, Texas, where Bill spent his high school years.
After graduating from Kirbyville High School, Bill was signed up by his recruiter, his cousin Ray, to join the Navy. In the Navy Bill was trained in Engineering for Missile Guidance and Tracking Systems. After completing his training, Bill was stationed back where his life began in Jacksonville, Florida. Bill served in the US Navy proudly for 6 years. While in the Navy, he married Nancy, and they had two sons together, Bill and Chris.
Upon exiting the Navy in 1989, Bill immediately joined the engineering team with Vistakon, a division of Johnson and Johnson, in Jacksonville Florida. Bill became a valuable member of the Vistakon team on 4-17-1989. He remained a valuable member of this company until his passing. Throughout his successful long career with them, he gained 13 patents for Vistakon/Johnson and Johnson. This week they have flown their company flag at half-mast.
Upon his upcoming retirement and sell of his home, Bill was planning to return to Texas to be near his family. Bill is survived by his mother Ruth and Step Father Tavio, his sons Bill and Chris, and his siblings Desiree and Everett, his nephews Derek and Aiden Everett, his niece Ava, his cousins Ray, Randy, Carl, Brenda, Eli, Clint, Susan, and Glenn as well as his Uncle James and Aunt Jaunice, Aunt Shirley, and Uncle Richard and Aunt Evelyn.
Bill loved the beach, camping, the outdoors, magic, music and his family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
Lamarr Olds

John Lamarr Olds, 67, of Jasper, passed away April 17, 2008 at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Jasper, he was a self employed carpenter for many years. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Memorial services were held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the family home at 105 CR 352, Jasper, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lois Olds of Jasper; sons, Jason Olds of Jasper, TX and Marty Olds of Colmesneil, TX; daughter Shalana Gray of Dayton, TX; sister, Garland Ruth Horn of Jasper, TX; along with 5 grandchildren.
Irene Truett Case
1917 - 2008
Irene Truett Case, 90, of Santa Fe, Texas, died Tuesday night at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
A native of Jasper County, she worked during W.W.II in Orange as a Welder or as known then "Rosie the Riveter" to help support her country. Later in life she resided in Pt. Neches, Silsbee, with family in Montgomery, TX and then Santa Fe, TX with her son.
Survivors include a son Micheal W. Case of Santa Fe, TX, Brother, James W. Truett of Sweeney, TX, Sisters, Blanche Ward and Janice Weathersby both of Montgomery, TX, three grandchildren Curtis, Jodi, and Wendy as well as two great-grandchildren, Steven and Jeffery.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Truett Family Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with the family greeting friends at the cemetery from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
Irene was preceded in death by a husband, Rudolph Case, by a son Robert Case, and by her grandsons, David Case, and Douglas Case.

James Hadnot, 59, native of Jasper, resident of Lubbock, Texas, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his resident. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Lighthouse C.O.G.I.C 1013 Helen Street Jasper, Tx. Viewing will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Cold Springs Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper.

Sharon Sanford, 50, of Jasper, died at her residence October 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at the Weeks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Forest Oaks Chapel. She is survived by her mother Edith Denmon of Jasper, Companion Mark Foreman of Jasper, daughters Heather Magee of Long Beach, Washington, Holly Sanford of Jasper, Brother Leonard Robinson of Jasper, sister Barbara Farley of Iowa, three grandchildren Mariah, Savannah and Samuel.
Mary Pauline Eddy

Mary Pauline "Polly" Eddy, 91, of Jasper, died at her residence Tuesday, October 21. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p. m., Friday, October 24, with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p. m. in the Forest Oaks Chapel, with private interment services to follow at the Hancock Cemetery. A native of Abilene, Texas she has been a resident of Jasper since 1933, "Polly" is a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper and was known for her involvement with numerous gardening projects and working with civic groups in Jasper as well as cooking and visiting with church friends and neighbors. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Eddy of Jasper, a niece Honey Eddy Alvis of Jasper, and a nephew John Charles Fonville of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Lakes Area Hospice in Jasper. Services are under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper.
