Larry Steven Hargrove, 61, of Jasper, passed away Friday, December 5th at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Benton, Kentucky, he moved to Jasper from Norwick, Kansas in 1964. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Temple Inland. Private cremation services were held Saturday, December 6, 2008. Survivors include his parents Merle & Anna Walker of Texas City, son Larry & Lisa Hargrove II of Jasper, daughter Stephanie & Bill Henderson of Jasper, brother Johnny Walker of Texas City, sisters Cheryl Jones of Texas City & Susan Walker of Taos, New Mexico, and 6 grandchildren.
Edward Scott
Edward Scott, 78, native and resident of Jasper, passed away Saturday, February 25, 201 at MD Anderson in Houston. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Lighthouse C.O.G.I.C. 1013 Helen Street Jasper. Visitation will be 1:00 AM – 2:00 PMprior to the service. Interment will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper.
Glenn Walker

Glenn Walker, 55, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, December 4th at his home. A native of Beaumont and a former employee of US Rubber, he lived in Jasper since 2006. Services will be Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Oaks Chapel. Visitation will be held after the conclusion of the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Sanders Cemetery.
Survivors include his father Dallas and wife Joanne Walker of Jasper, brothers Lane French of Washington and Lonnie French of San Antonio, and a sister Lisa Lindstrom of The Woodlands. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Odyssey Hospice 902 N. Wheeler Jasper, Texas 75951. Services are under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory of Jasper.

Eva Mae Balusek, 77, of Zavalla, Texas, died at her home Sunday, December 7, 2008. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Plum Ridge Baptist Church. A native of Alamo, Texas she moved to the Plum Ridge Community from Brownsville, Texas in 1999. Eva Mae retired from Southwestern Bell as a service representative, A active member of the Pioneer Club in Brownsville before moving to Plum Ridge. Survivors include a son Kenneth & wife Dianne Balusek of Plum Ridge, a daughter Jeanne Ann Balusek of Plum Ridge, brother Robert & wife Anne McMillon of Oklahoma, and sisters Mae Hargroder of Vidor, Texas and Penny & husband Mark Farabee of Mt Belvieu, Texas. Seven Grandchildren and Five great-grandchildren. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Plum Ridge Baptist Church. Margorie "Aunt Marcie" Morgan, 86, of Jasper, died at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday December 12, 2008 at Forest Oaks Chapel with interment to follow at the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Forest Oaks on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A native of Erin, Texas she is a lifelong resident of the Ebenezer Community where she attended Ebenezer Baptist Church and was known for her love of gardening, quilting, and birds she loved cardinals. Aunt Marcie was preceded in death by her parents Watt and Myrtie Byerly Morgan, brothers Perry Morgan and Preston Morgan. Survivors include a sister Ruby Shaw of LaMarque, Texas a niece Dianne Ferguson nephews Mark Shaw, Gerry Morgan, Archie Morgan, and Rodger Morgan. Nina Letney, 85, of the Plum Ridge Community died at her home on Friday, December 12, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday December 15, 2008 at the Plum Ridge Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Speirs Cemetery in Plum Ridge. A native of Tyler County she moved to Plum Ridge in 1950 during the war she was employed as a welder in the shipyard in Beaumont, Texas. She was a member of Plum Ridge Baptist and loved to fish for hours on end. Survivors include a son Toney & wife Evelyn Rogers of Livingston, Texas. Daughters Barbara and husband Pete Ray of Pearsall, Texas and Cathey and husband Mike Gorney of the Plum Ridge Community. Grandchildren Venasa, Danny, and Angela and a great-granddaughter Elizabeth. George Charles Meshell

George Charles Meshell, 88, of the Town Bluff Community died at his home Saturday, December 13, 2008. Graveside funeral services will be held at the Hancock Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on December 15, 2008. Visitation will be at Forest Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A native of Zwolle, LA. he was a resident of Jasper for many years until moving to Town Bluff in 1968. A veteran of W.W. II he served his country in the Army Air Force as a Sgt. after the service he worked in the Local 450 as a Heavy Equipment Operator and retired from Mason Construction in Beaumont, TX. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Glaze of Town Bluff; a grandson, Marshall and a great-grandson, Charles. Services under direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.

Leland Terry Gandy, 53, of Jasper, died January 2, 2009 at his home. Memorial services are will be held at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, January 5, 2009. Services will be held at 12:000 noon in the chapel. A native of Orange, Texas he moved to Jasper from Tennessee one year ago, he was the owner and operator of the Busted Knuckle Garage in Jasper and loved to work on classic cars. Survivors include his mother, Louise Dukes of Hemphill, Texas; a son, Terry Lee Gandy of Florida; and daughters, Jennifer Harris of Alabama, as well as Sara Gandy of Livingston, Texas; a brother, James Gandy of Hemphill, Texas; and five grandchildren.
