Richard Allen Malone, 69, of Jasper, died May 19, 2009 at his home after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at Forest Oaks Chapel on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Holly Springs. He is survived by his sons Eric and wife, Mylette Malone of Jasper and Shawn and wife, Christy Malone of Jasper; a daughter Tonya and husband Greg Maynard of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and five grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Matthew, Rachel and Emilee. Services are under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory of Jasper.

Walter L. Morgan, Jr., 82, of Jasper, died at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital Monday, June 1, 2009. Memorial service will be held on Sunday June 7, 2009 at his home located at # 18 County Road 358 off of F.M. 252 south of Jasper, TX. the family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A native of Braggadochio, MO. He served his country during W.W. II as a SGT. in the U.S. Army, after the military he worked and retired as a LT. from the Centerville, IL. Police Department, after retiring he resided in Honduras for five years before moving to Jasper where he has lived for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife Adela Morgan of Jasper, TX. Sons Richard Morgan of Fairview Heights, IL., Thomas morgan of Centerville, Il., Kevin Morgan of Fairview Heights, IL. and Andres Morgan of Jasper, TX. A brother James Morgan of Ofallan, MO. a sister Wanda Miller of Ann Arbor, MI. Three Grandchildren Joshua, Stephan, and Ashley.
William Lemuel Riddick Jr.

Funeral services for William L. Riddick Jr. were held June 12, 2009, at the Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care with interment following in Forest Park West Cemetery. Rev. James Hill officiated. Billy was preceded in death by his mother Anne Riddick. He is survived by his wife Sonja Riddick of Blanchard, LA. a son James Fisher of Blanchard, LA. father Bill Riddick Sr. of Jasper, TX. a brother Alan Riddick of Baytown, TX. a nephew Noah Yelverton of Blanchard, LA. as well as numerous nieces nephews and other family members.

Phyllis Warren Beasley, 85, of Sam Rayburn, Texas, died at her home Tuesday morning, June 9, 2009. Memorial services are set for 3:00 p.m. Saturday June 13, 2009 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Jasper, TX. she will be interred at a later at date St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Memorial Garden in Allen Park, MI. Phyllis was a native of Standish, MI. and graduated from the University of Wisconsin and was employed as a Risk Manager for Security Bank and Trust after retiring she moved to Sam Rayburn from Allen Park, MI., where she worked for the Municipal Utility District. in Sam Rayburn, TX. in 1988. She was active in the Rayburn Ladies Auxiliary, Rayburn Crafters and the Rayburn Garden Club. At Trinity Episcopal she was a member of the Daughters of the King and Episcopal Church Women. She was preceded in death by husbands Charles A. Warren Jr. and Johnnie Beasley. Survivors include son Charles and wife Sara Warren III of Lewiston, MI. Daughters Yvonne and husband Loyd Childs of Sam Rayburn, TX., Tamara Borghi and Edward Kalicke of Allen Park, MI., Mary Konarski and Richard Brigidi of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Wendi and husband Gary Sutherly of Jonesborough, TN. A sister Bernice Thomson of Cheboygan, MI. Grandchildren James, Christopher, Rachel, Zachary, Vanessa, Natlie, Kathlyn, Brigette, Jennifer, Samuel, and Jeffery. great-grandchildren Paige, Emily, Tiffany, Tristan, Una, Allison, Joseph, and Jaden. John David Lawson

John David Lawson, 40, died at Gene's Front End Repair where he was employed in Lufkin, TX, Monday June 15, 2009. Private services were held Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, Texas. A native of Refugio, TX, David attended school in Jasper until 1985. Shortly before he would have graduated, after school, he was employed as a mechanic and has done this type of work since the mid 80's and was currently in Lufkin, TX, and employed with Gene's Front End Repair. Survivors include his father, Clarence Lee Lawson, Sr. and a brother, Clarence Lee Lawson, Jr. and wife, Melissa all of Quitman, Arkansas.

Alonza "Al" M. Jones, Jr., 65, of Jasper, TX, died Wednesday June 17, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Tx. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday June 19, 2009 at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Forest Oaks from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Alonza "Al" Milton Jones was born on August 10, 1943 in Jackson, MIssissippi. His parents were the late A.M. & Eleanor (Gill) Jones. Al was the oldest of three children. They moved to Jasper, Texas in 1953. Al graduated from Jasper High School in 1961. He was All-State in baseball, and All-District in basketball and football. Al also attended and played sports at Blinn Junior College and Sam Houston State College. He graduated from Sam Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Al returned to Jasper, and started his own construction business in 1974. Al Homes, a remodeling, residential, and commercial construction company was founded. He built many homes for families in Jasper and surrounding areas. Al devoted his life to his family. He was the loving father of seven children. Al's life was a testament of God's love. He was always helping others, and always had an encouraging word. Al leaves behind many loved ones to cherish his life and memory. Children Trip, Nicole, Brooke, Skye, Brittany, Holly, and Summer Jones. Grandchildren Alexa, Lorelai, Jake and Hans. Russell Waldon Howard, Jr., 57, of Jasper, died at San Augustine Memorial Hospital in San Augustine, June 20, 2009. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory. A native of West Virginia he moved to Jasper in 1977, he was employed with Star-Con as a construction supervisor when he retired. Survivors include his mother Pearl Howard of Jasper, TX. Sons Russell W. Howard and Leif Howard both of Jasper, TX. Daughters Rebecca Jo Conn and Lacey Skylar Howard both of Jasper, TX. Brother Dennis Wayne Howard and sister Shelia McDonald both of Jasper, TX. as well as grandchildren Dusty, Dillion, Lexxy, and Billy Joe.
