Bonnie Lee Parish, 77, of Zavalla, TX, died at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, TX. on Friday, December 18, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, TX, with interment to follow at the West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper, visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2009 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home with family greeting the public from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A native of Newton, Kansas she lived in Orangefield, TX, for many years and was employed as a Interior Designer and worked at Sear's. She also was a bookkeeper for Local #125 Iron Worker's. Bonnie moved to the Plum Ridge Community in July 1984 and was known by her neighbors as a friend who enjoyed fishing, gardening, Flea Markets, working cross word puzzles and loved painting. She was preceded in death by a son David Rowland and a brother Lloyd Hood. Survivors include a dear friend, Jack Rowland of Plum Ridge; a daughter, Deborah & husband, Charles Cox of Kountze, TX; sisters, Viola Murphy of Kirbyville, TX; Dora Jannise of China, TX; and Joan Thomas of Venus, TX. Grandchildren, Aaron and wife, Laurie Cox and Kimberly & husband, Corey Mayfield; great-grandchildren, Kolton, Riley, Emma and one due in June 12, 2010 which happens to be Bonnie's birthday.
Truman Ray Childers

Truman Ray Childers, 79, of Jasper, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. on Friday, December 18, 2009. Private funeral services were held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, TX. A native of Abilene, TX, he was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired TIC with the Federal Aviation Administration and had worked in Tyler, McAllen and Waco then moved to Jasper in October of 1998. He was married to his wife in August 24, 1964, Emma Marie Childers of Jasper, TX, sons, Mark Delcambre of Norco, LA, and Charles Ray Bridges of College Station, TX, a daughter, Gloria Estilette of Norco, LA, brothers, Hubert Leon Childers of Stephenville, TX, and Leo Marshall Childers of Utopia, TX; sisters, Bonnie Aline Bullard of Stephenville, TX, Cleo Wiltshire of Utopia, TX. and Judy Shelton of Corpus Christi, TX. Two Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren.
Walter James Hood

Walter James Hood, 83, of Jasper, died at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in the Holly Springs Community. Family will greet friends Sunday evening at Forest Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A native of Beaumont, Texas he was a life long resident of Jasper, Texas in the Holly Springs community. He was born April 10, 1926 to Pascal Walter and Maria Fillyaw Hood. Walter was a member of the United States Navy serving from 1944 until 1947 and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6380 in Jasper, Tx. Walter served during World War II on the U.S.S. Lavaca. His ship was protecting the the signing of the Peace Treaty. Hood was S1c, 68 18b85, USNR. Hood was commended for turning in an undisclosed amount of money which he found on deck. Walter was the owner of Hood Ceramic Tile Company from 1948 until 1981. He and his wife, Bobbie started Bobbie's Bokay Florist in 1975. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years Bobbie Folsom Hood. Two daughters, Becky Chapman of Diboll, Texas and Belinda Foster and husband Jeff of Austin, Texas. One son, Patrick Walter Hood and wife Rebel of Jasper, Texas. Grandchildren, Phillip Chapman and wife Courtney of Crosby, Texas, Whitney Vincze and husband Mark of Germany. Also, Sterling and Lauren Hood of Jasper, Texas. Three great-grandchildren, Colby and Parker Chapman, and Jayce Vincze. He is preceded in death by his father Pascal Hood and mother Maria Hood.
Dewayne Donnell Williams

Dewayne Donnell Williams, 60, of Jasper, died at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas on Monday, December 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Texas with interment to follow at the Williams Cemetery in Evans, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Oaks Chapel. A native of Deridder, Louisiana and longtime resident of New Iberia and Evans, Louisiana, he was a Heavy Equipment operator and had resided in Jasper for the past several months. Survivors include his daughters Melissa Wade and husband Justin of Eldorado, Arkansas and Angie Faircloth and husband Todd of Jasper, Texas. Brothers, David Williams of Arlington, Texas and Lonnie Preston of Leesville, Louisiana. Sister, Gloria "Glory" Hunt of Arlington, Texas. Grandchildren, Kalie, Tyler, Hudson, Harrison, and Helen Claire. He was preceded in death by a sister Roberta "Rose" Howard.
Anita Toups

Anita "Skeet" Scott Toups, 85, of Houston, died at her home on Thursday, January 7, 2010. Skeet passed peacefully into the Lord's hands. Born on December 31, 1924, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Joseph Toups, her parents Lydia Rebecca and Leonard Everett Scott and sister Helen Scott White. She is survived by her children a son Wayne Edward Toups of Anchorage, AK; daughters, Lydia Ann and husband, John Pyle III of Cypress, TX, and Dodie Toups of Houston, Tx. Grandsons John and wife, Wendy Pyle, Shawn and wife Bronna Pyle, and Kenneth Pyle. great-grandsons, Zack and Austin Pyle, as well as two sisters, Peggy and husband, Horace Busby of Grand Prairie, Tx and Nancy Weir of Plano, TX; Four brothers, Leonard "Red" and wife, Fredia Scott of Vidor, TX, Bobby and wife, Lois Scott of Emory, TX, Don and wife, Erma Scott of Plano, TX and Walter and wife, Ethyl Scott of New Iberia, La. She loved crafts, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A native of Mineola, TX and a longtime resident of Deer Park, TX Brookeland, TX and Houston, TX Funeral services will be held at Forest Oaks Chapel on Monday, January 11, 2010 with interment to follow at the Brookeland Cemetery, family will greet friends from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Monday prior to services.
Robert Elsworth Haughaboo, Jr.

Robert Elsworth Haughaboo Jr., 81, of Jasper, died at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, TX, on Friday, January 8, 2010. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. A native of Maysville, Kentucky he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and moved to Jasper from El Paso, Texas in 1985 after moving to Jasper he opened Bob's Automotive located on highway 96 North, he sold this repair shop upon retirement. A member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church since his arrival in Jasper he was known for his love of hunting bobcats. Survivors include his wife Sylvia "Momma June" Haughaboo of Jasper, Texas. Son, Robert Thomas, a brother, Bill Caldwell, and sister, Jane Haughaboo, all of Maysville, Kentucky. Two Granddaughters, Amy and Susie as well as two great-grandchildren.

Deborah Cutsinger, 57, of Jasper, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Jasper Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on January 29, 2010 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, Texas. A native of Gary, IN, she moved to Jasper from Toledo Bend about two years ago after retiring as a nurse, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Clifford Cutsinger of Jasper; a son, Patrick and wife, Christi Cutsinger of Livingston, TX; daughters, Shannon Danielle and husband, William Willis Cutsinger of Jasper; and Jennifer Michelle and husband, Alexander James Cutsinger of Jasper, TX.
