Fisher
Chris Fisher, 29, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at his home in Rockdale. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Roy Dillard officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
He was born Oct. 2, 1976 in Bryan to Terry (McGoldrick) and Terry Lee Fisher.
Mr. Fisher worked as maintenance coordinator for Sam’s Club. He was a resident of Rockdale since June 2005. He was a 1995 graduate of Milano High School. He was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, John David McGoldrick; grandparents, J.D. and Mary McGoldrick; grandmother, Louise Woods.
Survivors include his mother, Terry Blackmon and husband J.D. of Rockdale; grandparents, Jim and Carol Blackmon of Milano; great-grandmother, Dorothy Nelson of Milano; brother, Jeremey Fisher of College Station; two sisters, Amanda Fisher of Rockdale and Crystal Fisher of Rockdale; nephew, Anthony Fisher of Rockdale; niece, Kyrsten Hartley of Rockdale.
Pallbearers included Jim Szumski, Destry Young, Dwayne Zboril, Jackie Johnson, Dustin Moore, Wesley Parker, Jeff Blackmon and Billy Barnett.
Owens
Services for Lovie Marie Owens, 81, of Rockdale were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Chuck Salmon of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Hugh Wilson Cemetery at Tanglewood.
Mrs. Owens died Thursday, Dec. 15, at her home in Rockdale.
A Rockdale resident for the past 45 years, she was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Milam County to Richard Elmer Eaken and Lydia Mae Williams Eaken.
She married Clinton Wilfurd Owens on April 9, 1960, in Caldwell.
Mrs. Owens was a seamstress and in later years she managed a laundromat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton W. Owens; a brother, Elmer Richard Eaken; and a sister, Lydia Pearl Sapp.
Survivors are a son, David Joe Stewart and wife Carol of Pflugerville; a daughter, Alice Marie Sheppard and husband Buddy of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Carrie Stewart Jarvis and husband Chip of San Antonio, Brian Stewart and wife Angie of Round Rock, Marty Sheppard of San Antonio, Linda Scheel of Helotes, Lisa James of San Antonio, and Allison Hermes of Castroville; three sisters, Jewell Elizabeth Powell and husband Larry of La Vernia, Lula Mae Reather and husband Irvin of Chula Vista, California, and Helen Joyce Sorenson of El Deriado, Missouri; also, 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brian Stewart, Chip Jarvis, Mark Owens, Kenneth Perryman, Will Rose and Glenn Chapman.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Vets or Scott & White Hospice.
Durocher
U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Marshall Durocher, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 at Manor Oak Nursing Home in Rockdale. Memorial services pending are after the holidays.
He was born March 10, 1918 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Edward and Adline (Lapanne) Durchoer. He married Dorothy Allen on Sept. 1, 1936 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Mr. Durocher, a business owner for 40 years in carpet, tile and floor design, was a resident of Lexington for the past 27 years and formerly of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Durocher on Sept. 3, 1977; parents and son, Marshall Durocher.
Survivors include daughter, Donna Durocher; four grandchildren, Alan Walters, Marshall Durocher III, Curtis Walters and Lori Durocher; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Walters, Taylor Walters, Carson Regalado and Seren Regalado.
Anderle
CAMERON – Anton C. Anderle, 90, of Temple and formerly of Cameron, died Saturday, Dec, 17, 2005 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron with Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial followed in the St. Monica’s Cemetery.
Mr. Anderle was born Feb. 23, 1915 in Cameron to William J. and Pauline (Blosch) Anderle. In 1939, he married Frieda Meek of Burlington who preceded him in death in 1982. He later married Evelyn Wunsch. Mr. Anderle founded Anderle Lumber Co. Inc. in 1947. He remained active in the community and in his church, St. Monica in Cameron and St. Luke in Temple. He supported the community thru the Chamber of Commerce and the Cameron Industrial Foundation.
He supported the youth thru 4-H and extension programs. He was active in the Knights of Columbus for over 57 years achieving the Fourth Degree. He was honored to be inducted to the Yoe Foundation Hall of Honor 2005. He enjoyed his hobby of pecans in which he earned many state awards.
A brother, Alvin, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wunsch Anderle of Temple; daughter, Patsy Anderle Tepera and husband John of San Antonio; son, James Anderle and wife Connie of Cameron; three sisters, Lillie Richter of Cameron, Helen Richter of Cameron and Teresa Baca of Temple; four grandchildren, Tommy Smith, Lori Smith, Kate McCoy and John Anderle; two great-grandchildren, Jeff and Cody Smith.
Posey
CAMERON – Charles Lester Posey, 90 of Corpus Christi and formerly of Cameron died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery in Hanover.
Mr. Posey, a retired Civil Service worker, was born Jan. 8, 1915 in Cameron to Charley and Susan (Allison) Posey and he grew up in Thrall. During World War II he was stationed in Italy working in radio repair. He married Anna Lee Kirk in July 1, 1956. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pettus and the Assembly of God Church. Ten siblings preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Anna Lee Posey; daughter, Ann Page and husband Jim; two grandchildren.
Evan
CAMERON – Ladie Junior Evan, 67, of Cameron, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Tim Cheatham officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Evan, owner of Ladie Evan Trucking, was born Sept. 4, 1938 in Crystal City to Ladie Fred (Shorty) Evan and Ellanora (Mueller) Evan. He was also an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Evan of Cameron; daughter, Ruby Jean Sterling of Lubbock; three brothers, Charles Evan of Cameron, Roy Evan of Caldwell and Robert Evan of Cameron; two sisters, Vlasta Tucker of Cameron and Jo Ann Evan of Cameron; three grandchildren.
Kurtz
CAMERON – Dorothy Marie Kurtz, 64, of Austin and formerly of Cameron died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 in an Austin nursing home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Hope Lutheran Memorial Park in Buckholts.
Miss Kurtz was born April 10, 1941 in Cameron to Edwin August and Martha (Abel) Kurtz.
Survivors include two brothers, Raymond W. Kurtz and wife Bernice of Huntsville and Edwin H. Kurtz and wife Betty of Virgin, Utah; Aunt, Evelyn Abel of Buckholts; two nieces, Dianne Truitt of Georgetown and Monika Pacyczk of Odessa; two nephews, Ray Kurtz Jr. of Austin and Mark Kurtz of Copperas Cove.
