McLeod
CAMERON – Lottie Margaret McLeod, 102, of Cameron died Monday, Jan. 30 in a Cameron hospital. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Cameron with Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McLeod, a retired school teacher, was born Oct. 22, 1903 in Morgan to Rufus and Bessie Belcher. She married Raymond McLeod in 1924 and he preceded her in death in 1983. She taught school at the old Cameron Mexican School, St. Monica’s Catholic Church and Ben Arnold School in Cameron. Ten siblings also preceded her in death.
Survivors include son, Dr. Raymond McLeod Jr. of Austin; sister, Mayme Vance; seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Scholarship Fund.
Crawford
CAMERON – Funeral services for Wayne Crawford, age 62, of Bradford, Pennsylvania and formerly of Cameron, were held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Reverend Billy Crow officiating. Burial followed in Pebble Grove Cemetery near Maysfield.
Mr. Crawford died Jan. 28, 2006 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 8, 1944 in Cameron to Elbert Dave Crawford and Linnie Gaines Crawford and was a retired manager in the oil industry.
Survivors include two sons, James Crawford of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Ira Crawford of Monroe, Louisiana; two daughters, Holly Crawford of Bradford, Pennsylvania and Rhonda Walter of San Antonio; two sisters, Ima Jean Diver of Cameron and Linda Bezdicki of Rockdale; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Richter
CAMERON – Lillie R. Richter, 91, of Cameron died Tuesday, Jan. 31 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Entombment followed in the St. Monica’s Mausoleum.
Mrs. Richter, a homemaker, was born Jan. 22, 1915 in Buckholts to Julius and Frances (Zajicek) Ruzicka. She married Johnnie A. Richter. Mrs. Richter was an active member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she was involved with the homebound ministries. She was preceded in death by several siblings.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie A. Richter of Cameron; son, Dr. Johnnie Richter of Rogers; daughter, Dr. Jeannette Cunningham of Waco; brother, Jack D. Ruzicka of Buckholts; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Moore
Edna B. Moore, 83, of Rockdale, died Monday, May 1, 2006 in Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Delores Hein of Assembly of God in Bryan officiating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1922 in Travis County to Forrest V. Holloway and Susie Vickers Holloway.
Mrs. Moore was a resident of Rockdale for the past 53 years. She was also a member of First Assembly of God Church in Rockdale.
She was a nurses aide at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale for 17 years before retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Forrest Richard Moore; and two brothers, William Holloway and Gladden Holloway.
Survivors include father of her children, J.C. Moore of Rockdale; three sons, Jimmie Moore and wife Diana of Cedar Park, Bobby Moore and wife Vicki of Rockdale, and Doyle Moore of Rockdale; two daughters, Patricia Chernosky and husband Quinnan of Hempstead and Janice King of Irving; two brothers, Theodore Holloway and wife Margaret of Leander and Doug Holloway of Llano; two sisters, Nell Smith of Corpus Christi and Betty Turner and husband D.L. of Bertram; sister-in-law, Daisy Holloway of Leander; 10 grandchildren, Greg, Eric and Scott Duncan, Chris and Douglas King, Sharon, Valarie, Brandon, James and Jordan Moore and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were two granddaughters.
Taylor
Loree P. Taylor, 86, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Rockdale. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 30, at Tanglewood Baptist Church with Brother Tim Ramsey and Elmo Wilhite of Tanglewood Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Taylor, a homemaker, was born July 26, 1919 in Tanglewood to Joseph Lee and Hallie (Purser) Pricer. She married William Jefferson Taylor on Dec. 26, 1936 near Lexington.
She lived most of her life in Tanglewood.
She was an active member of Tanglewood Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher for 55 years. She was also recognized for her Sunday school accomplishments by the Sunday School Board in Nashville.
Mrs. Taylor competed in the Senior National Bowling Tournament in Niagara Falls in 1983 and was the first senior woman from Texas to win Nationals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Jefferson Taylor; two brothers, Jeff Milton Pricer and John H. Pricer; sister, Beatrice Holton; sister-in-law, Barbara Pricer and brother-in-law, John Holton.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanie Betchan and husband Wayne of Rockdale, Diane Simpson and husband Roy of Tanglewood and Susie Woelfel and husband Ronnie of Lexington; brother, Milton Pricer and wife Gladys of Lake Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Phillip Wells, Troy Simpson, Mark Strain, Nick Callaway, Chuck Betchan and Johnny Pricer. Honorary pallbearers were Logan Dellerman, Michael Pricer, Patrick Pricer and Shane Mason.
Memorials may be made to Tanglewood Baptist Church Building Fund.
Williams
Lucille Caldwell Williams, 87, of Lexington since 1984, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. Graveside service was held 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington with Rev. Kenneth Mills of Faith Temple in Lexington officiating.
Mrs. Williams, homemaker, was born Oct. 5, 1918 in Lexington to Charles Henry and Rosa Idella (Mathis) Guthrie.
She was a former member of Faith Temple in Lexington. She enjoyed bowling, watching golf on T.V. and playing cards and collecting ceramic birds.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Roy Winferd Rogers; second husband, Leland Oliver Caldwell; brother, Ernest Guthrie and two sisters, Ruth Story and Orene Shelton.
Survivors include son, Leland “Bud” Caldwell of Lexington, daughter, Peggy Caldwell of Lexington; sister, Audrey Nettles of Lexington; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Gandy
Malcolm “Buck” Gandy, 86, of Gause, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at his resident. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 at Gause Full Gospel Church in Gause with Rev. Jerry Burns officiating. Internment followed in the Gause Cemetery.
Mr. Gandy was born May 26, 1919 in Calvert.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Gandy of Gause; two daughters, Diane Gandy of Gause and Sondra Shepard and husband Kenneth of Gause; two brothers, Marvin Gandy of Pennsylvania and J.D. Gandy of Lindale; three sisters, Evelyn Brittan of Bryan, Dolma Ponzio of Bryan and Jeanette O’Dneal of Bryan; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
