Hornung
LEXINGTON – Services for Myna Elizabeth Hornung, 92, of Lexington were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at First Christian Church in Lexington with Dr. Greg Nichols officiating. Burial was in Lexington Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Hornung died Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
A lifelong resident of Lee County and most of it in Lexington, she was born June 3, 1914, in the Hicks community to Homer Odes Watson and Myrtie (Rose) Watson.
Mrs. Hornung was a homemaker and years earlier was a secretary for Hornung Brothers Hatchery in Cameron.
She married John Hornung on Oct. 12, 1935, in Rockdale.
She was a charter member of First Christian Church in Lexington, where she taught Sunday school and was pianist for 35 years.
Mrs. Hornung completed and graduate the available 10 years of education at Tanglewood School. She attended C.C.C.C. Business College in Waco for a year, then returned to Lexington to graduate the 11th grade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hornung, on Oct. 24, 2003; two brothers, Hubert P. Watson and Alva Watson; and two sisters, Gladys Owens and Bernice Watson.
Survivors are two daughters, Ricki Hornung Hooper and husband Jimmie of Lexington, Lyn Hornung Brown and husband Don of Pflugerville; a brother, Cecil Watson of Odessa; a sister, Eloise Brademan of Lexington; four grandchildren, Lisa Stover and husband Scott, Rhonda Cabello and husband Joel, Stacy Mueller and husband Mark, and Stephen Brown; also, five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Keith Bexley, Stephen Brown, Bob Hasselbush, Mark Mueller, Scott Stover and Paul Van Dorn.

Summers
Robert Lee Summers, 97, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 in Roscoe. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with Minister Joe Bagby. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 at Sandy Creek Cemetery near Rockdale with O.E. Davidson of the Milam County Church of Christ in Rockdale officiating.
Mr. Summers was born Oct. 26, 1909 in Milam County to William Burton and Birdie Lee (Harris) Summers. He married Jessie Lucille Ford on Aug. 1934 in Rockdale
He was a resident of Sweetwater since 1943. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 and received the Golden Trowel Award from the Masonic Lodge where he was a member for 50 years.
Mr. Summers was also the Sweetwater Fire Chief for several years. He served in the Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Summers on May 20, 2004 and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Summers on Dec. 19, 2006.
Survivors include one son, Larry Summers of Sheridan, Wyoming; daughter, Betty Gooch and husband Phillip of Grant Pass, Oregon; brother, James Summers and wife Tommie of Rockdale; sister, Louise Story of Virginia; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Stover
Jewel Stover, age 101, of Rockdale died Nov. 9, 2006. Burial was held in Arlington, beside her husband in the family cemetery.
Mrs. Stover was born in Vidor in 1905 to Amos Valentine Richardson and Elizabeth Mason Richardson.
Her husband, Gene Stover, preceded her in death.
She moved from her home in Texas to live with family in Coral Springs, Florida.
Mrs. Stover is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Phil Knight; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews.
Charanza
CAMERON – Sharon Renee Charanza, 36, of Cameron, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 as a result of injuries sustained in a truck accident. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Charanza was born Aug. 4, 1970 in Cameron to Lawrence and Marilyn Faye (Rackley) Charanza.
Survivors include two daughters, Kayla Charanza of Cameron and Krystal Charanza of Cameron; son, Kolten Lee Weaks of Cameron; mother, Marilyn Hermis of Cameron; father, Lawrence Charanza of Cameron; four brothers, Larry Don Charanza and wife Flake of Cameron, James Lee Charanza and wife Gina of Cameron, Michael Hermis and wife Kim of Garwood and Bryan Matthew Charanza of Little Elm; two sisters, Lisa Schoelman and friend Kerry Schilhab of El Campo and Jennifer Medina and husband Lupe of El Campo; 13 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
Smith
CAMERON – L.G. “Smitty: Smith, 86, of Richardson and formerly of Cameron died Jan. 17, 2007 in a Dallas hospital. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lilac Cemetery near the Sharp Community in Milam County with Rev. Chris Norton officiating.
Born in Iola, raised in Bryan, Mr. Smith was a 1944 graduate of Texas A&M and served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Almarie Brady Smith of Richardson; daughter, Becky Long of Dallas, son, Steve Smith of Richarson; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bunt
SEGUIN – Services for Mary Jane Regina Nardecchia Bunt, 83, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Goetz Memorial Chapel in Seguin. Interment followed in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
Ms. Bunt died Wednesday, Jan. 17.
She was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Del Valley and was raised in Austin, graduating from Austin High School.
Ms. Bunt was preceded in death by her parents, Benedetto Nardecchia and Sophie Rizzo Nardecchia, and a brother, Sammy Nardecchia.
Survivors are her children, Nancy Hollub and husband Bobby of Seguin, Jimmy Bunt and wife Cindy of Buda, Kathy Traeger and husband Steve of San Marcos, Aloma Walker of Rockdale; grandchildren Shane Hollub of Seguin, Stacy Traeger of San Marcos, Byron Walker of Lubbock; two sister, Rose Bausch of Fort Worth, Lena Wilson of Jessup, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, David Nardecchia of Batesville, Arkansas, Buddy Nardecchia of Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Guadalupe Regional Medical Center Palliative Care.
Tindall
CAMERON – Edward Clayton Tindall, 76, of Temple and formerly of Cameron, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 in a Temple nursing center. Funeral services were held 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill Cemetery pavilion with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating.
Mr. Tindall, a retired brickmason, was born June 12, 1930 in Milam County to Reggie Clayton and Clara (Ainsworth) Tindall. He attended C.H. Yoe High School and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean conflict. He married Susie Mae Beasley and she preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1978. A grandson, Jason Ynclan, four brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Clayton Tindall of Cameron, Phillip Ray Tindall of Naples, Florida and Terry Neal Tindall of Thrall; two daughters, Sandra Kay Bailey of Cameron and Brenda Fay Ynclan of Houston; brother, Melvin Tindall of Cameron; two sisters, Kathleen Lewis of Cameron and Myrtice Robinson of Franklin; 13 grandchildren.
