Nelson
CAMERON – Graveside services for Mrs. Bobbie Dell Nelson, 77, of Waller, formerly of Buckholts, were held Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Corinth Cemetery in Buckholts with Rev. Gene Johnson officiating. Mrs. Nelson died Thursday, July 12 at her home in Waller.
Mrs. Nelson was born Sept. 6, 1929 in Buckholts to Siller and Taudie Bell (Kennedy) Sample.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Nelson.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Strong of Waller; sister, Lina Barton of Dew; two grandchildren, John Strong and Bobbie Johnson; great-grandchild, Danni Johnson.

Holloway
Jesse Eugene Holloway, 84, died Aug. 1, 2007 at Richards Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale with Pastor Jan Campell and Rev. Pete Belew presiding.
Jesse graduated in 1940 from Yoe High School in Cameron. He was a graduate of the National School of Business in Waco, and he also attended Baylor University. Jesse served his country during World War II, from 1943-1946, as a sergeant in the U. S. Army.
He moved to Rockdale in 1954, working at Alcoa in cost accounting for 30 years. He was also the owner of Holloway Laundry in Cameron.
In addition to being a caring family man, Jesse served in volunteer roles in his community. He served as secretary/treasurer for the Rockdale Little League, treasurer of the PTA, treasurer of the Lucy Hill Patterson Library, and he served on the Peace Lutheran Church building committee, as well as serving as church treasurer several times. Furthermore, he was the first president of the Rockdale Federal Credit Union.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Herbert Holloway; his mother, Carrie Bell Yates Holloway; five brothers, Billy Holloway, Herbert Holloway, Bennie Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, and John Patterson; and a sister, Mary Patterson Baldridge. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Thea Baumgartner Holloway and a grandson, Adam Wayne Browning.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Schmidt Holloway of Rockdale; his daughter, Pamela Holloway Browning and husband Randy of Sugar Land; his son, David Eugene Holloway of Los Angeles, California; his brother, Bob Holloway of Gilmer, and sisters, Madeliene Holloway Langford of Gilmer and Betty Holloway Lange of Temple. Jesse is also survived by three grandchildren, Justin Browning, Kristen Browning Upchurch and husband Chad; and Jessica Browning, and a great-granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Upchurch.
Pallbearers were James Greene, Vernon Chenoweth, Billy Gest, Leon Hammett, Gene Luckey and Bob Burnett.
Memorials may be sent to Peace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 312, Rockdale, TX 76567; Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library, 201 Ackerman, Rockdale, TX 76567 or to the charity of choice.
The family wishes to acknowledge the care shown by Renaissance Villa and Richards Memorial Hospital. Rockdale is blessed to have such fine, caring facilities.

Offield
Services for Ray Offield, 82, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Morris Cook and Rev. Jack Chelf officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Offield died Monday, Aug. 6, at Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale.
A longtime Rockdale resident, he was born June 17, 1925, in Thorndale to Gilbert A. and Blanche F. (Petty) Offield.
He married Geraldine Tuma on Sept. 11, 1966, in Rockdale.
Mr. Offield retired in 1987 after 40 years with TXU. He worked in the warehouse, helped build a dragline and worked in the tool crib.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale for 40 years.
Mr. Offield was a life member of Rockdale Masonic Lodge No. 414 AF&AM, a retired member of Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department and member of Rockdale American Legion and VFW.
He was a graduate or Rockdale High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the Philippines.
Mr. Offield was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Juanita Wheelus.
Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Offield of Rockdale; a son, Tom Fuquay and wife Chaille of Austin; and a granddaughter, Cecilia Christine Fuquay.
Pallbearers were members of Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Rockdale Masonic Lodge and deacons of First Baptist Church in Rockdale.

Huddleston
Curtis Huddleston, 74, of Rockdale for the past year and formerly of Milano and Houston, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Minister O.E. Davidson of Milam County Church of Christ and Minister Gene Van Noord of Church of Christ in Cameron officiating. Burial followed in Sand Grove Cemetery near Milano.
Mr. Huddleston was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Uvalde to Joseph Elzie and Zell (Galbreath) Huddleston.
He married Mildred Mozelle Marek on April 29, 2000, in Milam County Church of Christ.
Mr. Huddleston was a member of the Milam County Church of Christ near Rockdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Jerry Huddleston.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred Huddleston of Rockdale; a son, Carl Huddleston of Milano; two daughters, Donna Ditto of Milano and Cindy Bell and husband Eddie of Milano; a stepson, Richard Marek and wife Carolyn of Chriesman; a stepdaughter, Valerie Havel of Bryan; two brothers, Gerald Huddleston and wife Joy of The Woodlands and Joe Dan Huddleston and wife Sandy of Milano; six grandchildren, Marissa Brooks Wilson and husband Matt of Georgetown, Daniel Ray Ditto of Hearne; Curtis Wayne Huddleston of Houston, Jason Edward Bell and wife Ami of Carrollton, Jennifer Marie DeHart and husband Keith of Huntsville and Amy Denise Bell of Taylor; a great-grandchild, Jozie Wilson.
Pallbearers were Keith DeHart, Daniel Ditto, Matt Wilson, Bill Newbury, Porter Young, Larry Faulkner and Jason Bell.

Leopold
Funeral services for Alois A. Leopold, 72, of Hallettsville, were held Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Rev.John Peters officiated. Mr. Leopold died Monday, July 30.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1935 in Hallettsville, to Alphonse T. and Clara Bludau Leopold. He married Florice Pesek Leopold on September 27, 1958 in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Sweet Home, Texas. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Texas National Guard, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. Leopold was preceded in death by a son, Arlyn Glenn “Buck” Leopold, and his parents.
Survivors include: wife Florice; three sons, Allan Leopold and wife Mary, Brian Leopold and wife Donna, and Steven Leopold and wife Cheryl, all of Hallettsville; three daughters, Karen Strieter of Houston, Sandra Fojt and husband Randy R. of Hallettsville, and Pam Bohuslav and husband Donald of Hallettsville; three brothers, Andy Leopold of Hallettsville, Paul Leopold of Rockdale, and Robert Leopold of Rockdale; three sisters, Mary Lee Supak of Hallettsville, Mildred Bollom of Houston, and Elizabeth Hermes of Hallettsville; and 13 grandchildren, Brandon Fojt, Miranda Fojt, Robby Strieter, Brooke Leopold, Paige Leopold, Reid Leopold, Kyle Leopold, Jaden Leopold, Landon Leopold, Lane Leopold, Olivia Bohuslav, Kelsey Bohuslav, and Cole Bohuslav.
Pallbearers were Brandon Fojt, Robby Strieter, Pat Bollom, Donald Leopold, Andrew Leopold, and Jimmy Leopold.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Sacred Heart Catholic School.

Bartlett
Graveside services for Joe Harvey Bartlett, 96, and Gladys Anderson Bartlett, 93, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena.
After 74 years of marriage, they died two days apart – Joe on Aug. 1 and Gladys on Aug. 3.
Joe, the first of five sons, was born to Jim and Ruby Bartlett in Tracey on Dec. 14, 1910. Gladys, the youngest of six children, was born to Jim and Eva Anderson in Lilac on June 13, 1914.
They lived an exemplary life and touched everyone who knew and loved them.
They leave behind their two daughters, Ginger and husband Bill, Jo and husband Bill; five grandchildren and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Joe is also survived by three brothers and their families.
Gladys is also survived by a niece and nephew and their families.

Tepera
CAMERON – Funeral services for Mary Frances Tepera, 75, of Angleton were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron with Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial followed in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Marak.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Mrs. Tepera died Friday, Aug. 3, at her home.
A homemaker, she was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Milam County to Frank and Ann (Porubsky) Kamenicky.
She married George Anton Tepera and he preceded her in death in 2004.
A brother and a sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, George Wayne Tepera of Sweeney, Dennis Ray Tepera of Lake Jackson, Michael L. Tepera of Angleton; a brother, Frank Kamenicky of Cameron; a sister, Janice Klecka of Cameron; also, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
