Service for Rosa Lee Mosley, 87, of Decatur was Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. The Rev. Don Spain officiated assisted by Sam Rector and Doug Vaughn. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Pallbearers were Tim Terrell, Chad and Nathen Horner, Mark, Ron, Scott and Bart Mosley.
Mosley died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, in Decatur.
Born Sept. 2, 1913, in Grapevine, she was a homemaker and member of the Bell Baptist Church in Decatur. She married the late Glenn Owen Mosley on Nov. 30, 1936, in Decatur.
She is survived by three sons, Harold, Ray and David Mosley, all of Decatur; one daughter, Charlotte Horner of Decatur; one brother, Joe Simmons of Fox, Ark.; two sisters, Nellie Ruth Webb of Decatur and Zelma Plumlee of Coppell; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Rachel M. Bullard
1907-2000
Service for Rachel M. Bullard, 92, of Bowie was to be Saturday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Chapel in Bowie. Revs. Homer Martin and Darius McKay were to officiate. Burial was to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Bullard died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Bowie.
Born Oct. 20, 1907 in Bellevue, she married J.B. Bullard Jr. on Feb. 13, 1954, in Sweetwater. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She was a retired school teacher and a longtime resident of Newport before she moved to Bowie 16 years ago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bowie. She was also a member of the Bowie Memorial Hospital Auxillary and a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Decatur Chapter 543, for which she served as organist. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
She attended Texas Tech University and Texas Woman’s College and earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She taught in public schools in Clay, Montague and Wise counties until her retirement in 1968.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Hobart Bullard of Bowie; two nieces, Helen Bullard of Bellevue and Carole Greer of Mesquite; three nephews, Bill Cooper of Del Rio, David Jones of Arcadia and John E. Bullard of Bowie; one great niece, Sharon Webb of Bellevue and several other nieces and nephews.

Durwood ‘Woody’ Bruton

Graveside service for Durwood “Woody” Bruton, 60, of Dallas, was Thursday, Sept. 28, in Decatur at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Bruton died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in Dallas.
Born Aug. 27, 1940, in Haskell, to Ben and Margaret Bruton, he grew up in Weinert. He was a graduate of North Texas State University and taught school in the Dallas area. He was an active member of the White Rock Rotary Club and worked extensively with the Decatur Rotary Club. He was responsible for the organization and funding of the Bachman Recreational Center’s annual chili cookoff that benefits the handicapped and mentally retarded. He was a musician. He was a co-owner of Medical Electronics in Dallas.
He is survived by his twin brother, Elwood “Drue” Bruton; his nephews, Brandon and Blake Bruton; one cousin and Nancy Jane Deaton Mares.

Born April 28, 1943, in Denison, she was employed in the home health industry as a certified nurse assistant. (CNA).

Doss R. Wilson

Memorial service for Doss R. Wilson, 71, of Kansas City, Mo. was to be Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City.
Wilson died Sept. 26, 2000, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born in Chico, he was a lifetime member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop #24, an honorary warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, a member of the Central Camp Fire and an active member of the Central United Methodist Church of Kansas City.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; three sons, Paul Wilson of Alexandria, Va., Mark Wilson and wife Kathy of Kansas City; and David Wilson of Kansas City; one granddaughter, Khloe Wilson of Kansas City; and one brother, Charles Wilson of Corpus Christi.
Herbert Earl Brown

Herbert Earl Brown, 72, of Springtown died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, in Decatur.
A private memorial service will be held by family members after cremation.
Born May 16, 1928, in Paradise, he was a member of the Springtown Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Earl and Minnie Helen Brown of Bridgeport, and by two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by three brothers and five sisters.
R.M. ‘Jiggs’ Pemberton

Service for R.M. “Jiggs” Pemberton, 85, of Bridgeport was held Sunday, Nov. 26, in the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. Burial was in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Dr. Bill Dye officiated.
Pemberton died Nov. 23, 2000, in Bridgeport.
Born Sept. 26, 1915, in Mason, Ill., he was a longtime Bridgeport resident, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of Wise County Roughnecks Club. He and his wife Betty had been married 54 years. He retired from Mitchell Energy Corporation, where he was a production superintendent.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pemberton of Bridgeport; one son, Larry Pemberton; four daughters, Betty VanHoose and her husband Travis, Kathy Pierce and her husband Phillip, Pat Sargent and Kay Hinkle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bud Davidson, Dan Stack, Billy Don Workman, Donald Roberts, Gary Potts and Jay Conquest. Honorary pallbearers were E.G. Scroggins and Joe Hale.
The family requests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport building fund.
Fred M. McGilvray

Service for Fred M. McGilvray, 95, of Boyd was held Monday, Nov. 27, at the Mount Olivet Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
He died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Decatur.
Born May 30, 1905, in Oklahoma, he owned and operated the McGilvray Dairy in Keller for over 45 years and operated McGilvray Implement Co. in Hillsboro for 10 years. He moved to Boyd in 1985 and was a retired farmer and rancher and member of the Boyd Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Onace McGilvray of Boyd; one son, James McGilvray and his wife Pat of Bridgeport; one daughter, LaVonne White and her husband John of Watauga; a brother, Johnny McGilvray, of Gainesville; three sisters, Irma Jean McGilvray and Bessie Huey, both of Gainesville, and Ina Faye Allen of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Allie Wauldene Atkinson Cook

Service for Allie Wauldene Atkinson Cook, 85, of Stephenville will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville. The Rev. Fred Winslow will officiate. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville.
Cook died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at her home.
Born Aug. 18, 1915, in Bridgeport, to Allie Hudson and John Atkinson, she married Stanley J. Cook in 1933. She and her husband moved to Stephenville in 1945 from Oak Ridge, Tenn. where Mr. Cook was employed as a defense worker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, in 1995; a son, Paul Cook in 1999, and three siblings, Wilford Atkinson, Warren Atkinson and Pansy Lee Lumsden Buzzo.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce E. Cook of Stephenville; a sister, Estelle Peninger of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Cynthia Parham of Stephenville, Carla Jo Cook and J. Paul Cook, both of Decatur; four great grandchildren, Matthew Parham, Webb Kittinger, Chloe Kittinger and Katie Parham; a niece, Debra Lynn Stasey of Stephenville and several nephews.

Miller died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in Fort Worth.
Born May 15, 1910, in Acadia Parish, La., he was a retired welder for Nolan’s Machine Shop in Lafayette.
He is survived by one son, Butch Miller of South Carolina.; three daughters, Odette Douglas of Rhome, Bonnie Vincent of Lafayette and Carole Sarah of Rowlett; 15 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Pylant of Alvord; his parents, W.C. and Nell Pylant of Alvord; two sons, Colin and Kyle Pylant of Alvord; two daughters, Autumn Pylant of Portugal and Caitlin Pylant of Alvord; two sisters, Leah Bounds of Fort Worth and Karen Manke of Portland, Ore., and one grandchild, Summer Pylant of Portugal.

Born Sept. 13, 1920, in Fort Worth, she was a retired nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Gomez in 1977; three sons, Johnny, David and Wally Gomez; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ray and husband Lanny, Linda Gomez and Angie Gomez; one son, Domingo Gomez and wife Linda; one brother, Tive Jaurequi; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Born April 24, 1923, she was a member of the Baptist Church of Keeter.
