Juanita Williams, 90

Juanita Williams of Campbell died Sunday in a Dallas hospital. Services were Tuesday afternoon at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville with Rev. Timothy Greenawalt officiating. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery.
She was born in Meridian, Miss., on June 5, 1911, to Hanon and Lillie Pearl Stevens. She married Albert Lee Williams on Aug. 21, 1926, She worked with her husband on the train.
Surviving are three daughters, Jessie Lee Flowers of Duncanville, Tootsy Inez Lovelace of Mesquite and Barbara Jean Tippit of Greenville; grandchildren, Harvey Babb, Karla Burke, Vick Flowers, Talena Greenawalt, Rick Flowers, Tim Lovelace, Kathy Lovelace, Glenn Lovelace, Larry Tippit, Diana Gifford and Steve Tippit.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 1, 1985; a daughter, Dorothy Pearl Babb; two brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers were grandsons Harvey Babb, Vick Flowers, Tim Lovelace, Larry Tippit, Steve Tippit, Glenn Lovelace and Rick Flowers.
James Evans

James "Maurice" Evans, 91, of Pecan Gap died Saturday at the Heritage Place Nursing Home in Grand Prairie. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at the DFW National Cemetery with Rev. John Reynolds officiating.
Mr. Evans was born March 9, 1910, in the Horton Community in Delta County; the son of V.O. and Ruby Glossup Evans. He was a retired farmer and a private in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Surviving are a daughter, Sarah LaVerl Foley of California; three brothers, Earl Evans and Ernest Evans, both of Grand Prairie, and Carl Evans of California; and one sister, Allie Ramer of Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by a brother, O.R. Evans, and a sister, Mildred Stoykle.

Billy Marlar

Billy Claud Marlar, 69, died Tuesday at the Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services were Friday morning at Long Cemetery.
Mr. Marlar was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Cumby to Ross and Vivian Campbell Marlar. A retired mill worker, he was a Baptist.
Surviving are sons Billy Ray Marlar of Irving and Roger Marlar of Euless; daughter, Patsy Manns of Irving; brothers, Buddy Marlar of Cumby and Wayne Marlar of Sculley; sister, Betty Lawson of Cumby; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Travis Marlar.
Cumby Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
James Weatherford

James W. Weatherford, 56, of Conway, Ark. died Tuesday in the Conway Regional Medical Center. A memorial service was Saturday afternoon at Ralph Robinson and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Conway.
Mr. Weatherford was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Pine Bluff, Ark.; the son of James B. and Martha Culpepper Weatherford. He was a railroad engineer and a military veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Weatherford of Conway; mother, Martha Weatherford of Pine Bluff; sons, Bill Weatherford of Mount Pleasant and Pat Weatherford of Pine Bluff; daughter, Leslie Mann of Monticello, Ark.; step-son, Rhett Tanner of Conway; step-daughters, Neelie Tanner of Conway and Shanna Camp of Sheridan, Ark.; brother, John Weatherford of Pine Bluff; sisters, Martha Cumnock of Conway and Rebecca Schumacher of Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Elizabeth Crouch

Elizabeth Ann Crouch, 51, of Commerce died Wednesday in Commerce. Funeral services were Friday afternoon at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Chaffin and Rev. Sam Bush officiating. Burial was in the Ladonia Cemetery.
Mrs. Crouch was born June 15, 1960, in Waukegan, Ill.; the daughter of Felt and Iren Grist Chapin. She was married to Albert Crouch on Jan. 17, 1984, in Greenville.
A longtime resident of Commerce, Mrs. Crouch graduated from Campbell High School in 1968. She began in 1968 a 13-year working relationship for Sherwood Medical.
She was the owner and operator of Crouch Kennels for eight years and she and her family own and operate A&A Sanitation. She was also employed with Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville as a purchasing agent for the past three years.
She attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Commerce; parents of Campbell; mother-in-law, Marie Crouch of Quinlan; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Vandy Crouch and Jason Crouch, all of Commerce; sister, Judy Travis of Campbell; brother, Phillip Chaffin of Campbell; and five grandchildren, Brynson Crouch, Trindon Crouch, Dalton Crouch and Payton Crouch, all of Greenville, and Gavin Crouch of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Chaffin, in January, 1983.
Pallbearers were James Taylor, Chris Kitts, Bryan McWhirter, Mark Crouch, Brody Bunnell and Odis Kyle.
Florene Dean

Florene M. Dean, 87, died August 28 in Johnson City, Tenn. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Dean was born May 14, 1914, in Rusk County; the daughter of Thomas and Annie Reel. She was a member of the Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Jim Harden of Harligen; granddaughters, Kristi Hill of Harligen, Amy Kennedy of Johnson City, Tenn and Renee Segura of San Antonio; grandson, Kevin Harden of Harligen; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Patricia Taylor of Ogden, Utah.
Pallbearers were grandson, grandsons-in-law and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Green Acres Baptist Church.
June Shipp

June Shipp, 68, of Commerce died Tuesday in Commerce. Funeral services were Friday morning at First Baptist Church of Commerce with Rev. Roy Lee Dittmar officiating. Burial was in Rosemound Cemetery.
Mrs. Shipp was born March 13, 1933, in Commerce; the daughter of Aubrey and Alma Payne Sparkman. She was married to Bobby Joe Shipp on May 23, 1952, in Commerce.
Mrs. Shipp was a beautician and worked at CF&L during the building of Copper Lake. She helped to found Ridgecrest Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Hope Class as well as the Rebekah Lodge of Commerce.
Suriviving are her husband of Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Robbie Jo and Stanley Horton of Sulphur Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Van and Rhonda Shipp of Commerce; five grandchildren, Jarrid and Jessica Horton, Chase Shipp, Chelsea and Whitney Shipp; two step-grandchildren, Chris and Morgan Ehrlish; and sister and brother-in-law, Jerry and J.T. Speight of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Lewis and Lynn Max Sparkman.
Pallbearers were Tressie Prezzley, Archie Brock, Pete Hale, Russell Armstrong, Bill Draughn, Lyn Ray Moore, Billy Spitler and Second McQuary. Honorary pallbearer was Ernest Hawkins.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Jana Curry

Jana L. Curry, 57, of Commerce died Friday in Commerce. A memorial service was Sunday afternoon at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with Rev. Neal Hern officiating.
Mrs. Curry was born July 19, 1944, in Hutchins, Kans.; the daughter of Walter and Lota Guffey Chapman. She was married to Orville Curry on Dec. 21, 1968, in Arlington.
Mrs. Curry had lived in Commerce since 1968; having moved from Arlington. She graduated from Diamond Hill High School in 1962. In 1982, she received her bachelors degree from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce).
For two years, she taught elementary grades in Farmersville. She taught math and science in the intermediate school until fall, 1999, and moved to the high school and taught content mastery education in the Greenville Independent School District.
Mrs. Curry was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany.
Surviving are her husband of Commerce; two sons, Tad Fowler of New Orleans, La. and Trey Curry of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Dena Curry of Austin; two grandchildren, Blake and Clay Manwaring of Austin; brother, Walter Chapman of El Cajon, Calif. and cousin, Mary Heaven, Lake of the Woods, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
