John Vincent Campbell
(March 4, 1925 - October 1, 2011)
John Vincent Campbell was born on March 4, 1925 and went to be with his Lord peacefully from his home in Dayton, Texas on October 1, 2011.
He was born in Dillonville, Ohio.
After graduating high school in 1942, he enlisted in the Army.
On November 29, 1944 he fought in the Battle of Luxon, Philippines and then served a year in occupied Japan as an MP.
He was discharged on November 14, 1946 and lived his young adult years in Ohio.
John loved his Lord, family and his church family.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
He worked construction all his life and is now joyfully running a backhoe for Jesus in heaven.
John was preceded in death by his brothers Nick Lastohkein, Alex Lastohkein, Bill Lastohkein, Leon Topovski, Tony Topovski, Mike Campbell and sister Margaret Baxstrom.
He is remembered by his devoted brothers George Topovski, a loving sister Helen Fry and a foster sister Dixie Elser.
He is also remembered by his beloved children, Judy Shrader, John “Jac” Campbell, Jennifer Adair, Jill Litten, Jim Campbell, JoEllen Morris, Danny Coe, Gary Coe, Michele Larson, Heather Dickens and Angel Coe along with twenty five treasured grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
There are countless other friends and family that were blessed to know him.
A memorial service for John will be 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at New Life Church in Kenefick.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Dorothy Margaret Scarboro, age 90, of Tomball, Texas, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011.
She was born in Schulenburg, Texas on August 19, 1921 to parents, Charles and Marie Gebert who preceded her in death along with her husband, Fred Scarboro.
Survivors include her son, Carl Scarboro; daughters, Carol Kacer and Marylyn Zlotnick; sisters, Laura Matthews; grandchildren, Lisa Bennet, Anna Rockhold, Angela Clegg, Alice Scarboro; great-grandchildren, Daniel Bennet, Claire Bennet, Aaron Rockhold, Kendall Clegg; niece, Janet Matthews; and many treasured friends through the years.
Pastor Mark Anderson of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Texas, will preside over funeral services being held Monday, August 29, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

William Lafayette Edwards V, age 49, of Palestine, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 08, 2011.
He was born January 24, 1962 in Pasadena, Texas; and a Baptist in faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Deanna Edwards; his loving wife, Shelia R. Kenner; and his sister, Norma Fry.
Survivors include his daughter, Tiffany S. Kenner; two sisters, Melody True and husband, Kenneth True, and Nancy Folwell and husband, Mark Folwell; along with many faithful friends.
Family and friends will gather for graveside services held on Thursday, October 13, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

Gladys “Marilyn” Rusk Davis, 76, of Liberty, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Marilyn was born April 9, 1935 in Pasadena to parents; David L. and Newell Muckelroy Rusk, a former resident of Gun Barrel City, and has resided in Liberty for the past eight years.
She was a graduate of the Pasadena High School class of 1952, had attended business school, was a member of the Women’s Business Association, and attended the First United Methodist Church.
She also enjoyed playing dominoes, reading, flowers, travel, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Cecil Rusk.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years: Marvin Davis of Liberty, sons: David Sanford and wife Connie of Troup and Rink Sanford and wife Shari of Sacramento, CA, brothers: Benny Rusk and wife Linda of Liberty and Anthony Rusk and wife Judi of Austin, sisters: Gytha McNair of Dayton and Aileen Evans of Austin, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Darryl Keith Oxner, age 48, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 2, 1963 in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina Oxner; mother, Sue Hale; daughter, K.C. Caldwell; sons, Richard Oxner and Chris Oxner; sisters, Suzanne Collums and Michelle Harris; brother, Larry Oxner; grandchild, Chase Daniel Oxner (and one on the way, Ethan Tyler Caldwell); nieces, Nickolas Collums, Kim Moss, Ashley Moss, Taylor Dupree, Maggie Oxner, Vicki Meade, Salina Young, and Andi Graham; nephews, Joseph Culpepper, Melvin Ward, Terry and Micheal Powell; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends.

Max “John” Bracewell, Sr., 71, of Dayton, died Monday, September 12, 2011, in Baytown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
John was born May 31, 1940 in Groves, to parents; Carl, Sr. and Elora Norris Bracewell, a former resident of Orange, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past ten years.
He was a graduate of the Liberty High School, a veteran of the US Marine Corps with service during Vietnam, a retired supervisor for Asplundh Expert Tree Co., and a former mechanic.
He also enjoyed crafts and fishing.
Mr. Bracewell was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Judy Ann Sanders Bracewell, sisters: Ann Skaggs and Maxine Smith, and brothers: Lee Roy, Vernon, Eugene, and David Bracewell.
He is survived by his sons: Max J. Bracewell, Jr. and wife Libby of Baytown and Michael J. Bracewell and wife Kimberly of Bandera, brothers: Buddy Bracewell of Dayton and Carl Bracewell, Jr. of Liberty, sisters: Dorothy Nugent of Liberty, Louise Quimby of Liberty, and Carolyn Maddox of Liberty, grandchildren: Katherine J. Bracewell, Fallon S. Sheffield, Brittany M. Deconge, and Lauren R. Bracewell, great-grandchildren: Sean Max Sheffield and Julius L. Simien, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rosa Margaret McKnight, born February 25, 1921 in Hawera, New Zealand died September 27, 2011 in Cleveland, Texas at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Mrs. McKnight is preceded in death by her husband, Foster McKnight; son, Donald McKnight; parents, James Albert Simpson and Marion Caskey Simpson; and her sister, Patricia.
