Eric William Isley
Eric William Isley, infant son of Bryan and Jennifer Isley, died Tuesday at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dyess Air Force Base Chapel with Chaplain, Capt. Sam Tucker officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Survivors include his parents of Abilene; his grandparents, Floyd and Dianna Isley of San Diego, Cal. and Paul and Deborah Strassels of Rapid City, S.D.; and great-grandparents, Douglas and Janis Harnish of Wyoming, Del.

Robert William Barslow
Robert William Barslow, 79, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery with Mike Korzenewski officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Barslow was born in Littleton, Mass. He served in the U.S. Army Military Police during World War II. He married Erma Burks in 1946 in Abilene. He worked in the grocery business at Thornton’s Grocery and also worked at Gibson’s. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Bill Barslow of Fort Worth; one daughter, Diane Barslow of Abilene; two sisters, Thelma Lavene of Acton, Mass. and Arlene Gleason of Liester, Mass.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

D.J. Richie
DUNCANVILLE -- Douglas Jenkins "D.J." Richie, 75, formerly of Merkel, died Wednesday in a DeSoto nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Merkel First Baptist Church with the Revs. George Mosier and Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mr. Richie was born in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Nina Riney in Merkel in 1942. He was a farmer and a rancher and the Noodle Co-op Gin manager. He was a member of the Noodle school board and the First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff.
Survivors include his wife of Duncanville; two sons, Gerald Richie of Duncanville and Freddie Richie of Burleson; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Eunice Marie Rogers Smith
WEIMAR -- Eunice Marie Rogers Smith, 87, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche with the Rev. Jerry Adkins officiating, directed by Hubbard Funeral Home of Weimar.
Mrs. Smith was born in Hasse and attended Comanche High School. She was the widow of Clarence W. Smith, whom she married in Comanche in 1933. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church for 48 years and was a foster grandparent at the Abilene State School for 15 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Roger Smith of Weimar; three daughters, Gwen Baeza of Cedar Park, Frances Barron of Richland Hills and Maxine Smith of Carrollton; one sister, Mabel Moore of DeLeon; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Callie Elizabeth Reed
SWEETWATER -- Callie Elizabeth Reed, 76, formerly of Roscoe, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Don Davies officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born in Seagoville. She was the widow of Silas Harlin Reed, whom she married in Snyder in 1940. She was a member of the Roscoe Baptist church and had worked at Simmons Memorial Hospital and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Reed of Spring, Silas H. "Butch" Reed of Allen, and Joe Reed of Sweetwater; one daughter, Judy Hunter of Aurora, Col.; one sister, Arnita Vaughn of Hermleigh; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ronda Cox
COLEMAN -- Ronda Cox, 81, died Thursday at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kermit City Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan McGonagill officiating, directed by Walker Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cox was born in Hawkins. She was the widow of Malcolm Cox, whom she married in 1935, and of Oran Thomas Reeves, whom she married in 1984. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Dakan and Charlotte Smith both of Coleman; two sons, Billy Cox of Novice and Alton Cox of Jal, N.M.; four sisters, Lois Shipman of Sweetwater, Billie Faye Funderburk of Houston, Yvonne McClintock of El Paso, and Joyce Bickerstaff of Odessa; one brother, H.A. Jolley of Grosvenor; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

William Andrew ‘Bill’ Henley
EDOM -- William Andrew "Bill" Henley, 65, died Friday in a Tyler hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with the Rev. Louie Barron officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Henley was born in Snyder. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Abilene Paving Company and the W.A.H. Jewelery Manufacturing company. He married Laverne Stone in Abilene in 1984. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Edom; one son, Stephen Henley of Brownsboro; one stepson, Kelly Cook of Shreveport, La.; one stepdaughter, Karen Wilson of Edom; one brother, Dan Henley of Belton; one sister, Barbara Little of Austin; and six grandchildren.

Anna Jane ‘Janie’ Wilkinson
O’BRIEN -- Anna Jane "Janie" Wilkinson, 70, died Thursday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Buerkle officiating. Burial will be in the O’Brien Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born in Rochester. She was the widow of Jim Wilkinson. She had worked as a nurse for Dr. Clifford Payne in Lubbock and as an insurance agent for Landmark Life Insurance. She graduated from Lubbock Barber College and owned Janie’s Barber Shop in Knox City. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Kinsey of Burleson, and Rhonda Robinson, Billie Haymes and Missy Wilkinson all of Odessa; one son, Douglas Grimsley of Burleson; two sisters, Mae Harrison and June Blanchard both of Lubbock; one brother, Joe Hastey of Wolfforth; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Naomi ‘Alene’ Ivy
FORT WORTH -- Naomi "Alene" Ivy, 82, formerly of Brownwood, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Blanket Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ivy was born in Comanche. She was a retired beautician and a member of the Early United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, James V. Ivy of Fort Worth and Mack E. Ivy of Brownwood; two sisters, Sarah Davis of Brownwood and Alva Lee Sewell of San Antonio; one brother, Nat Gleaton of Abilene; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bessie Melissa Rainwater
SNYDER -- Bessie Melissa Rainwater, 84, died Friday in a San Angelo care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Rainwater was born in Mansfield, Ark. She was the widow of R.C. Rainwater, whom she married in Carlsbad, N.M., in 1947.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Hamilton and Patsy Maddux both of San Angelo; one son, Kenneth Wade of Ruidoso, N.M.; one sister, Mildred Raye of San Angelo; and six grandchildren.

Michael James Nash
RANGER -- Michael James Nash, 28, died Thursday at his home after a long illness.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Nash had lived in Abilene for several years and was the owner of Starlite Productions. He was a board member for the BCAR Association and was a graphics artist.
Survivors include his parents, James and Phyllis Nash of Ranger; one brother, Joe Nash of Nome, Alaska; his grandmother, Ora Mae Simcox of Ranger; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
