O.D. Paulk
HOBBS, N.M. - O.D. Paulk, 84, died Sunday in Hobbs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Street Church of Christ with Virgil Webb officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Memorial Park, directed by Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Paulk was born in Moody and was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Co. for 39 years. He was superintendent of the Hobbs gas plant for 19 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ. He married Madge Kniffen in 1937 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Hobbs; two sons, O.D. Paulk Jr. of Houston and Ronnie Paulk of El Paso; two daughters, Jan Herman of Las Cruces, N.M., and Debbie Kellum of Midland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to New Mexico Christian Home in Portales, N.M.
The body will be at the funeral home today and until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Eugenia Routh South
Eugenia Routh South, 89, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. David Leyerle officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. South was born and graduated from high school in Blanket and attended Howard Payne University. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with bachelor's and master's degrees. She was retired after teaching seventh-grade English in the Abilene Independent School District for 18 years. She taught in Brownwood, Benjamin and Weinert for eight years before moving to Abilene in 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lois/Lightbearers Bible class. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association. She married James L. South in 1930 in Grosvenor; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, James Russell South of Austin; one daughter; Nancy Cooch of Fairfield; and two grandchildren.

Rowena Lewallen Thomas
Rowena Lewallen Thomas, 77, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with Royce Cody officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thomas grew up near Sweetwater and moved to Abilene in 1942. She worked at Hendrick Hospital, West Texas Medical and Humana Hospital before retiring in 1987. She was a member of North Park Church of Christ. She married Bosie Dixon Thomas in 1940 in Stephenville; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Thomas of Tuscola and Bob Thomas of Abilene; one daughter, Judy Moore of Tuscola; two sisters, Clara Mae Hudson of Abilene and Jewel O'Neal of Stephenville; one brother, Dar Lewallen of Weatherford; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

Waldo Wesley Kelsey
Waldo Wesley Kelsey, 80, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Community Church with the Revs. Kevin York and Jeff Little officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral home, 1443 North 2nd.
Mr. Kelsey was born in Blanket. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Patsy Josey in Sylvester in 1950. He retired from Dyess Air Force Base civil service and was a member of Crossroads Community Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; three sons, Wesley Mayberry of Stephenville, Lacy Allen Kelsey of Grand Prairie and David Wesley Kelsey of Abilene; one sister, Sybil Bailey of Odessa; one half-sister, Joyce Houllihan of Abilene; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roger D. Reed
Roger D. Reed, 47, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory with the Rev. H.B. Terry officiating.
Mr. Reed was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. He married Susan Tracy in Belmont, Mass., where he lived for a number of years before returning to Abilene in 1992. He was a parts manager at Hanner Chrysler and a member of the West Texas Chrysler Guild. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Gabriel Reed of Dallas; his parents, Billy and Billie Reed of Abilene; one brother, Noel Reed of Abilene; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home

Priscilla Barnes
Priscilla Barnes, 73, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Hal Lewis and Gerald Cambell officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by North's Funeral home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. She married Ralph Barnes in Baltimore, Md. in 1943. She had been an Abilene resident since 1985. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-First Ward, Retired Military Wives Club and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; three daughters, Drusilla Falk, Gayle Johnson and Susan Atkinson all of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mitzi Smith of Delaware, June Ashwell of Ohio and Connie Dyer of Maryland; one brother, John Hutchison of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elvira F. Lopez, 65, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. David Matz officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Lopez was born in LaPride Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Maricela Lopez of Abilene and Flor Torrescano of Del Rio; three sons, Juan Maldonado and Luis Maldonado both of Fort Worth, and David Lopez of Washington; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
