Cleo Mae McCloud
LUBBOCK - Cleo Mae McCloud, 89, died Friday at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the McCaulley Cemetery with the Revs. Bynum Akins and Ferris Akins officiating, directed by Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCloud was born in McCaulley. She was the widow of E.C. McCloud, whom she married in Anson in 1934. She had been a resident of Lubbock for over 40 years. She graduated from McCaulley High School, Hardin-Simmons University, and Sul Ross University. She taught school and was a volleyball coach in the Lubbock school system. She was a member of the Lubbock Parent/Teacher Association and the Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven sisters, Icey Snellgrove and Lillian Gotcher both of Lubbock, Nola Vymola of Fort Worth, Latane Robertson of San Angelo, Corrine Pinson of Birmingham, Ala., Katy Borron of Fredricksburg, and Evelyn Lewellen of Austin; four brothers, Wesley Akins of Powder Springs, Ga., Bynum Akins of Dallas, Ferris Akins of Ballinger, and Bill Akins of Stanton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Nancy Royall
ODESSA - Nancy Royall, 48, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Abilene with the Rev. Ted Short officiating, directed by Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home.
Mrs. Royall was born in Dayton. She married David Steven Royal in Odessa in 1985. She was a long-time peace officer and a detective for the Odessa Police Department.
Survivors include her husband of Odessa; one son, Stephen Andrew Royall of Odessa; three daughters, Troy Leigh Beck of Amarillo, Tobi Lylle Beck of Cleveland, and Mary Elizabeth Royall of Odessa; four brothers, Teddy Clay Pennington of Fort Gibson, Okla., John Pennington of Muskogee, Okla., Wayne Douglas Pennington and Stephen Odis Pennington both of Cleveland; and three grandchildren.

N. D. Burfield
COLEMAN - N.D. Burfield, 74, died Saturday in a local care center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Rick Justice officiating, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Burfield was born in Coleman County and attended school in Trickham. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a plumber and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Neal Dean Burfield and Ray Glenn Burfield both of Lubbock; one daughter, Delories Keeney of Coleman; three brothers, Clifton "Stockey" Burfield of Lake Brownwood, Roy Burfield of Coleman and Henry Odell "Jack" Burfield of Coleman; one sister, Gertrude Winter of Lake Brownwood; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Billy Ray Foster Sr.
WINTERS - Billy Ray Foster Sr., 67, died Thursday at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Don Roath officiating, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. Foster was born in Happy Valley and was a life-long resident of Taylor County. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He married Kay Beazley in Abilene in 1982. He was a truck driver and a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Randy Foster of Abilene and Billy Ray Foster Jr. of Amarillo; three daughters, Rhonda LaBrake and Tina Cook of Abilene and Toni Porter of San Angelo; four brothers, Eudean Foster of Abilene, Troy Foster of Novice, Don Foster of Buffalo Gap, and Larry "Tooter" Foster of Winters; and nine grandchildren.

Tommy Strickland
SNYDER - Tommy Stickland, 68, died Saturday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Burkett Cemetery Pavilion, directed by Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.
Mr. Strickland was born in Coleman County. He married Bonnie Boyles in Burkett in 1953. He serves in the U.S. Army and worked with Safeway Stores for many years. He retired from I.G.A. Grocery.
Survivors include his wife of Snyder; three daughters, Debra Bock of Midland, Donna Garvin of Snyder, and Daphne Blevins of Snyder; two sisters, Mary Hightower of Cisco and Norene Rhoads of Breckenridge; four brothers, Bill Strickland, Jack Strickland and Eddie Strickland all of Burkett, and Sonny Strickland of Breckenridge; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 3-5 p.m. in the funeral home.

William Sutton "Bill" Dudley
COMANCHE - William Sutton "Bill" Dudley, died Friday at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Dudley was born in Comanche. He was the widower of Nancy Jo Haynes, whom he married in Brownwood in 1956. He was a retired Texas Highway Department construction supervisor and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, GiGi Dudley and Jo Lane Chick of Comanche; two brothers, Charles Lane Dudley and Bob Dudley of Comanche; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Comanche Public Library.

Willa Wallen
BAY CITY - Willa Wallen, 87, formerly of Ranger, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mesquite & Rusk Street Church of Christ with Shawn John and Kenneth Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger.
Mrs. Wallen was born in Cassville, Mo. She was the widow of Paul E. Wallen, whom she married in 1929. She worked for Evelyn's fashions. She was a member of the University Church of Christ in Austin and Mesquite & Rusk Street Church of Christ in Ranger.
Survivors include two sons, Paul K. Wallen of Bay City and Bill K. Wallen of Rochester, Minn; and four grandchildren.

Beatrice Mae Ritchie
SNYDER - Beatrice Mae Ritchie, 84, died Friday in a local care center.
Services will be at 11 am. Saturday in the Snyder Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Day officiating, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ritchie was born in Borden County. She was the widow of Ray Ritchie, whom she married in Snyder. She was a housewife.
Survivors include one brother, Marvin Crumbie of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby Gerald James
LUBBOCK - Bobby Gerald James, 66, died Friday in a local care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bell-Cypert-Seals Funeral Home in Snyder. Burial will be at Hermleigh Cemetery.
Mr. James graduated from Snyder High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Pat Davidson in Hermleigh in 1956. He was a Past Master of the Hermleigh Masonic Lodge and worked for the Mesa Pipeline Company prior to retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gerald James of Rotan and Jimmy Pat James of McKinney; and four grandchildren.

Pedro "Pete" Maldonado Chavez
SWEETWATER - Pedro "Pete" Maldonado Chavez, 82, died Friday at his home.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the McCoy Funeral Home chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Slaters Chapel at Nolan.
Mr. Chavez was born in Querendaro, Mexico. He was the widower of Guadalupe Munoz, whom he married in Querendaro, Mexico, in 1936. He retired from the Sweetwater Cotton Oil Mill and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Rosalba Chappa of Sweetwater, Guadalupe Rodriquez of Winters, Argelia Ramirez of San Angelo, Rosaysela Andersen of Hamilton and Cleotilde Quarl of San Angelo; five sons, Jose Maria Chavez of Pedres Negres, Mexico, Mario Chavez of Lawton, Okla., Pedro Chavez and Juan Chavez of Sweetwater, and Rosemberg Chavez of Austin; 36 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
