Horace Ebarb
SWEETWATER - Horace Ebarb, 67, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Ebarb was born in Roscoe. He married Nancy Davenport in Sweetwater in 1954. He was a long-time Dallas area resident and worked for the Mesquite School District. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Temple.
Survivors include his wife of Dallas; two daughters, Betty Atnip of Houston and Tracey Hammer of Allen; one sister, Frances Olive of Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Fred D'Warren O'Neal
BROWNWOOD - Fred D'Warren O'Neal, 87, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. O'Neal was born in Bowie. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the widower of Veda Ingram, whom he married in Coleman in 1937. He was a building contractor.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Thompson of Denton; two brothers, George O'Neal of Brownwood and John O'Neal of Waco; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Paulette Andrey Morrel
HASKELL - Paulette Audrey Morrel, 90, died Thursday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Highland Cemetery in Stamford with Kenneth Blair officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Morrel was born in Heggerman, N.M., and was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Thomas Morrel Jr. in 1926 in Stamford; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Morrell III of Willard, Mo.; two daughters, Blanche Jeanne Conner of Gardena, Calif., and Caretha Ann Hejlik of Modesto, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Billy Gene Spikes
BENJAMIN - Billy Gene Spikes, 73, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 10 am. Tuesday at First Christian Church with Dennis Duke officiating. Burial will be in Benjamin Cemetery, directed by Mansell-Smith Funeral Home of Knox City.
Mr. Spikes was born in Loraine and was a cowboy-rancher in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico. He retired from the Moorhouse Ranch. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He married Dorothy Faye Campbell in 1949 in Odessa.
Survivors include his wife, of Benjamin; one daughter, Penny Eaton of Nash; three sons, Rusty Spikes of Wichita Falls, Ty Spikes of Holcomb, Kan., and Guy Spikes of Seymour; one sister, Louise George of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Opal (Wilder) White
BROWNWOOD - Opal L. (Wilder) White, 76, died Sunday after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. White was born in Brownwood, where she lived all her life. She was a member of Bell Plain Baptist Church. She married William Hilton (Bill) White in 1939 in Early.
Survivors include her husband; four children, William White of Garland, Deola Mitts of San Angelo, Delora Mathews of Cedar Park and Craig White of Watauga; one brother, Ollen Hester Wilder of Early; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.

Inez Foreman
ROBY - Inez Foreman, 91, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Foreman was born in Fisher County, where she lived all her life except a brief period in Lincoln County, N.M. She attended Dowell schools and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Paul Foreman in 1928 in Rotan; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, David Foreman of Gladewater, Barton Foreman of Linn Creek, Mo., and Tony Foreman of Dallas; one brother, James Yates of Mineral Wells; four sisters, Jewel Vada Hardin of Levelland, Mellie Noles of Marble Falls, Zada Eaton of Magazine, Ark., and Elsie Hatcher of Odessa; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

May Harbin
EASTLAND - May Harbin, 93, died Sunday at a Fort Worth nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
May Harvey (Smith) Harbin was born in Purdon in Navarro County and grew up in the Dark Hollow community. She lived in Eastland County most of her life and also lived in Freer and Mathis. She married Tillman Carroll Harbin in 1924; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Terrell Harbin of Tyler, Melvin Harbin of San Angelo, Stanley Harbin of Big Spring and Norma Harbin of Arlington; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Jean Schroeder
BROWNWOOD - Dorothy Jean Schroeder, 83, a longtime Brownwood resident and professor emeritus at Howard Payne University, died Friday in Plano.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Schroeder was born in Waco and moved to Brownwood in 1927. She graduated from Baylor University in 1936 and taught in Winters. She graduated from HPU with a master's degree in education and attended Trinity University and Sam Houston State University's Mexican Field School. She had served as dean of the School of Social Sciences at HSU. She served on the board of the Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom and was secretary of the Brown County Hospital Authority for 13 years. She served on the boards of Brownwood Public Library, Brown County Museum and Brown County Hitorical Society and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Garland Chapter, Junior 20th Century Club and Brownwood Garden Culture Club. She had served on the Brownwood Public Facilities Commission. She was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She was the widow of William George Schroeder.
Survivors include one son, William Schroeder III of Maplewood, Minn.; two daughters, Jan Schroeder Wilson of Plano and Bonnie Weikel of Euless; one sister, Eleanor Patton of Crockett; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Howard Payne University.

Tillie Julia Johnson
SNYDER - Tillie Julia Johnson, 102, of Arlington died Sunday at an Arlington nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Hermleigh with Dr. Rex Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Hermleigh Cemetery, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Dryar and moved to Hermleigh as a child. She had lived in Abilene for more than 60 years and was a salesperson for Lintz Department Store in Abilene for many years. She moved to Arlington in 1992. She was the widow of Cull Forbus and Alvin Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Carroll Frydenburg of Arlington and Jean Collins of Victoria, British Columbia; three sons, Cull "Bud" Forbus of Plains, Ross Forbus of Poteet and John Forbus of Abilene; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.

John Neill Jr.
John D. Neill Jr., 60, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in Marietta, Ga.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Robert Lichenstein Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Neill was born in Merkel and attended school in Abilene, where he lived for some time. He moved to Houma, La., and had lived in Cobb County, Ga., for 15 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran and had been employed by Bearings & Drives Distributors in Marietta. He attended Texas A&M University and was a Baptist. He married Debra Dykes in 1979 in Houma.
Survivors include his wife, of Marietta; one son, John D. Neill III of Anaheim, Calif.; one stepson, Micky Earl Dykes of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Juanell Castleberry of Borger; one stepdaughter, Penny Rene Dykes of Pensacola; one stepbrother, Charles Williams of Carrollton; one sister, Margaret May George of Austin; two uncles, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.
