Betty Jo Harkey
Betty Jo Harkey, 49, of Abilene and formerly of Coleman, died Tuesday in a Coleman hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in North Coleman Baptist Church in Coleman with the Rev. Bill Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Ms. Harkey was born in Coleman, where she graduated from high school, and attended Draughon's Business College. She moved to Abilene three years ago from Alabama and worked as a graphic media manager. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Steve J. Reinhart of Pampa; one daughter, Karen Sharp of Abilene; her parents, Ward and Jane Harkey of Coleman; two brothers, Don Harkey of Abilene and Terry Harkey of Monahans; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie Vicars
CLYDE -- Marie (Mrs. John F.) Vicars, 83, died Tuesday in an Abilene retirement center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Knox Waggoner officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vicars was born in Hamby and was a homemaker. She moved to Clyde in 1960 from Abilene. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church and was the widow of John F. Vicars, whom she married in 1939 in Roby.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Loper of Garland; one sister, Lucy Horton of Abilene; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Estella Audrey Winkles Reves
ANSON -- Estella Audrey Winkles Reves, 79, lifelong Jones County resident, died Tuesday in an Abilene nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Anson Church of Christ with P.B. Middlebrook and Pete Lollar officiating. Burial will be in Rockdale Cemetery in Haskell County, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reves was born in Hastings in Shackelford County and graduated from Nugent High School. She served with the U.S. Women's Army Corps during World War II. She married David Ernest Reves Sr. in 1946 in Cisco and graduated from Abilene Christian College. She was an elementary school teacher in Lueders and Anson for a total of more than 25 years. She also lived in Nugent and Lueders. She was a life member of Parent-Teacher Association and also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Delta Kappa Gamma, Tuesday Study Club and Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Anson; two daughters, Susan Reves Holloway of Anson and Sharon Reves Young of Mansfield; two sons, David Reves Jr. of Denver City and John Reves of Terrell; one sister, Reba Stapp of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Carlton Lee 'L.C.' Plumlee
STAMFORD -- Carlton Lee "L.C." Plumlee, 75, lifelong area resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Spring Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Valerie Mireb officiating, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mr. Plumlee was born in Haskell County and served with the U.S. Army's Blackhawks during World War II. He married Inez Vinson in 1948 in Stamford. He owned and operated a laundry, service station and taxi service, all in Stamford, for many years. He was a member of Orient Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Stamford; one son, Billy Plumlee of Henrietta; one daughter, Carla Hite of Arlington; one sister, Inez Weaks of McGregor; four grandchildren; and two nephews and four nieces.

Emmett Gober
EARLY -- Emmett Gober, 91, of Brady, died Tuesday in a Brady nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Locke officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery.
Mr. Gober was born in San Saba County, where he farmed and ranched for more than 40 years. He then owned and managed a store in Duster in Comanche County. He later moved to De Leon and Brady. He was the widower of Effie Mae Stoner Gober, whom he married in 1926.
Survivors include six children, Clemuel Gober of Lake Brownwood, Charlotte Gober Kolaja of Houston, Patricia Nehr of Rochelle, Lowman Gober of San Antonio, Sharron Alston of Nacogdoches and Delman Gober of Alvin; three brothers, his twin Ernest Gober, and Robert Gober, both of Brownwood, and Leonard Gober of San Angelo; three sisters, Winnie Gober Matlock and Mabel Gober Powell Arnold, both of Brownwood, and Anne Gober Smith of Brookesmith; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Juanita Schafer
COLORADO CITY -- Juanita Schafer, 80, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Colorado City First Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Spear officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Schafer was born in Floydada and married Louis O. Schafer in 1946 in San Antonio. She worked as a dispatcher for the Colorado City Police Department for 28 years until retiring. She was a member of Business & Professional Women's Organization and Mitchell County Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, of Colorado City; one son, Randy Schafer of Odessa; one brother, Lawrence Ruddick of Eldorado, Kan.; one sister, Helen Ezell of De Soto; and one grandchild.

Margaret Colston Chandler
BROWNWOOD -- Margaret Colston Chandler, 94, of Dallas, died Sunday in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services were Tuesday in Greenleaf Cemetery with Dr. Norbert Peil officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chandler was born in Houston and retired as a social worker from the state of Texas. She moved to Dallas in 1987. She was a member of Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church in Dallas and was the widow of William Knox Chandler.
Survivors include two sons, Colston Chandler of Albuquerque, N.M., and Knox Chandler of Guilford, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Union Presbyterian Church in Brownwood or Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church in Dallas.

LeRoy 'Top' Lucas
LORAINE -- LeRoy "Top" Lucas, 80, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday in a Colorado City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Loraine First Baptist Church with the Rev. James McLeod and Dan Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Lucas was born in Loraine and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widower of Leona Modess Graham Lucas, whom he married in 1950 in Loraine.
Survivors include one son, Rick Lucas of Loraine; one sister, Jean Haggerton of Snyder; one brother, Travis Lucas of Clute; and two grandchildren.

Kaspar 'Bugs' Proctor
BRECKENRIDGE -- Kaspar "Bugs" Proctor, 74, formerly of Sweetwater, died Sunday in a Big Spring hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with the Rev. Eli Sapada officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Garden of Memories in Sweetwater.
Mr. Proctor was born in Marietta, Okla., and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a truck driver from the Reeves Co. in Sweetwater. He moved to Breckenridge several years ago. He was a Baptist and was the widower of Ethel Ann Johns Proctor, whom he married in 1972 in Anson.
Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Waterbury and Vickie Petty, both of Breckenridge, and Carolyn Hull of Rotan; two sons, Eddie Proctor of Marble Falls and Bobby Joe Proctor of Albuquerque, N.M; one stepson, Gary Vinson of Breckenridge; one sister, Dorothy Clark of Forrest, Miss.; two brothers, E.M. Proctor of Sweetwater and Delmer Ray Proctor of Forrest, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mayme Jewell Little
WINTERS -- Mayme Jewell Little, 79, died Tuesday in a Lubbock nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Winters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mrs. Little was born in Winters, where she married Bud Little in 1936. She worked at Winters Flower Shop for 39 years. She then owned and managed the business for 14 years. She was a member of North Main Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, James "Button" Little of Lubbock; one brother, Kenneth Flowers of Ballinger; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
