Lisa Diane Howard
GATESVILLE - Lisa Diane Howard, 34, of Woodbury, Minn., and formerly of Tuscola, died Wednesday at a Minnesota hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville with the Rev. Danny Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard was born in Ballinger and grew up and attended school in Ballinger, Talpa and Winters. She graduated from Jim Ned High School and moved to Woodbury in 1991. She was an honorary member of the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Worth and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Viola Howard of Woodbury; her father, Jack Howard of Sommerville; one sister, Sandra Franks of Oviedo, Fla.; three brothers, Glynn Howard of Allen, Don Howard of Coleman and James Howard of Livingston; four nephews, five nieces and several aunts and uncles.

Layton Lawson
BROWNWOOD - Layton Lawson, 84, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in City of Lubbock Cemetery with the Rev. Beverly Lawson Krause and Dr. Barbara Brightwell officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Lawson was born in Spiegleville and was a farmer and rancher all his life, growing maize in Lubbock, Lynn and Hockley counties, cotton and vegetables in the Rio Grande Valley and raising Hereford cattle, sheep, angora goats and alfalfa in Brown and San Saba counties. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where he was a teacher for Friendly Fellows Bible class and a member of Upper Room class. He had been a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Lubbock before moving to Brownwood in 1976. He married Pearl Vardeman in 1933 in Lubbock; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Juana Simmons of San Benito and Beverly Krause of Tyler; one son, Luther Lawson Jr. of Austin; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.

Rex LeBleu
RISING STAR - Rex G. LeBleu, 84, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Adams officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo
Mr. LeBleu was born in Holt and moved to Rising Star from San Angelo 27 years ago. He was a generator operator for a natural gas company and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Jackie Powell in 1946 in Conway, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, of Rising Star; one daughter, Sherry LeBleu of Rising Star; one brother, E.D. LeBleu of Rising Star; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Meredith Hamblen Memorial Fund at the People's State Bank.

Windell 'Cotton' Reed
RANGER - Windell D. "Cotton" Reed, 68, died Saturday at a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Reed was born in Pontotoc, Miss., and moved to Morton Valley as a child. He attended Morton Valley schools and graduated from Eastland High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and operated a service station in Ranger for a short time. He was employed by Lone Star Gas and retired from Ensearch Exploration in 1986. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Morton Valley and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4136. He married Mary Boles in the early 1950s; she preceded him in death. He married Selina Chatham.
Survivors include his wife, of Ranger; three sons, Bobby Wayne Reed of Eastland, Allen Chatham of Waco and Roger Bonner Jr. of Ranger; four daughters, Tammy Eoff of Blackwell, Bobby Jo Wilhelm and Bandy Bonner, both of Waco, and Carla Walker of Ranger; two brothers, Lawrence Reed of Ranger and Stanley Reed of Eastland; two sisters, Lavine McCullough of Eastland and Darlene McCullough of Breckenridge; and 16 grandchildren.

Margie Grimes Bell
CLYDE - Margie Grimes Bell, 85, died Tuesday at her residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Clyde with the Revs. Dixie Robertson and Marvin Gregory officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. at the Spring Creek Cemetery in Avoca, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bell was born in Avoca where she graduated from high school. She attended Hardin-Simmons University. She was the widow of Hubert Ira Bell, whom she marred in 1932. She taught music in the public school systems in Old Glory, Haskell and Sagerton. She was also the choral director of the Nine Teens for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clyde and Eastern Star.
Survivors include three daughters, Ira Sue Bell of Arlington, and Jane Dement and June Park both of Clyde; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary F. Seale
EARLY - Mary F. Seale, 85, died Monday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ruben Packer officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mrs. Seale was born in Milam County. She married Walter Seale in Brownwood in 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Early; two daughters, Betty Jean Gibbs of Early and Patsy Mitchell of Granbury; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society.

Floy Jim Hughs
ROBY - Floy Jim Hughs, 91, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loren Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hughs was born in Ozark, Ark. She graduated from Ozark High School and taught school in Altus, Ark. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons and McMurry before teaching music in the public schools for 35 years. She was the widow of Buck Hughs, whom she married in Roby in 1926. She served as the pianist and choir director at the First United Methodist Church and was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, Rolling Plains Retired Teachers Personnel, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include four daughters, Neva Sims of Granbury, Frances Farrar of Stafford, Jacquelyn Blakely of Plano, and Evelyn Nowlin of Rotan; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

James Harvey "Jim" Wallis
TUCUMCARI, NM - James Harvey "Jim" Wallis, 78, a longtime Quay, NM resident, died in an Abilene hospital on Monday.
Graveside services will be in the Quay Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Randy Searight officiating, directed by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari, NM.
Mr. Wallis was born in Quay where he was a rancher and a member of the Church of Christ of Tucumcari. He had lived in Albany, TX since 1997. He married Clesta Jennings in 1941.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Stanley Wallis of Albany; one brother, Paul Wallis of Arizona; one sister, Jean Wallis of Albuquerque; and one grandchild.

Joe Lynn McMahon
WICHITA FALLS - Joe Lynn McMahon, 57, died Monday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. McMahon graduated from Munday High School and Midwestern State University. He had been an associate administrator at the West Texas Medical Center and Humana-Abilene before moving to Denver. He was a Fleet Sales Manager at Patterson Auto Center in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include one daughter, Kristy Noonon of Saint Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Cheryl Donaldson and Mickey Vendrick both of Wichita Falls, and Diane Bradley of Leander.

CISCO - Jessica Ann Smith, 3, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Kimbrough Funeral Home with the Rev. Cole Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Dothan Cemetery.
Jessica was born in Brownwood to Marty and Shirley (Krum) Smith. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her parents of Cisco; one brother, Cody Smith of Cisco; grandparents, Everett and Goldie Smith of Putnam, and Delpha Krum of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandparents, Billy and Betty Smith of Stamford, and Helen Warren of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several aunts and uncles.
