Etta Letha "Bobbie" Moore Chamberlain O'Neal
SEYMOUR - Etta Letha "Bobbie" Moore Chamberlain O'Neal, 86, died Sunday in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were held Tuesday in the Seymour Church of Christ with the Revs. Greg Melton and Bud Branson officiating. Burial was in the Goree Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home of Munday.
Mrs. O'Neal was born in Desdemona. She lived in Seymour for 20 years before moving to Wichita Falls. She was the postmaster in Goree and a member of the Seymour Church of Christ. She was the widow of Cecil Roy Chamberlain, whom she married in 1932, and of Willie Horace O'Neal, whom she married in 1961.
Survivors include two sons, Alton Keith Chamberlain of Henrietta and Gaylon Cooper Chamberlain of Halstead, Kan.; two brothers, Eldon Troy "Johnny" Moore and Marion Estle "Billy" Moore; two sisters, Essie May Moore and Alma V. Claburn; two step-daughters, Elaine Cooper and June Rowan both of Pampa; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nine step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Charles V. McCowen
CROSS PLAINS - Charles V. McCowen, 50, died Tuesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Pioneer Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Lenz officiating, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mr. McCowen was an administrative assistant at the University of Houston. He was the widower of Darlene Hargrove, whom he married in Cross Plains. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one son, Todd McCowen of Stephenville; one daughter, Aimee Russell of Pinkton; his parents, Jim and Ida McCowen of Early; one sister, Sharlotte Montgomery of Cross Plains; two brothers, Jim D. McCowen of Lake Brownwood and Mark McCowen of Greenwood; grandmother, Ruby McCowen of Cross Plains; and two grandchildren.

Michael Lawrence Gatewood
HAMLIN - Michael Lawrence Gatewood, 40, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Watson officiating, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Gatewood was born in Monterey, Cal. He married Carol Hart in Bremerton, Wash., in 1978. He owned Mike's Repair in Hamlin. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #958.
Survivors include his wife of Hamlin; two daughters, Rhonda Sue Gatewood and Jamie Ann Gatewood both of Hamlin; his mother and step-father, Rhonda and Vernie Johns of Denton; his father, Jack Gatewood of Corpus Christi; one brother David Johns of Denton; two sisters, Anne Harthun of Snyder, Okla., and Sharon Gustovich of Wexford, Penn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Alva C. Dillard
COLORADO CITY - Alva C. Dillard, 86, formerly of Lueders, died Tuesday in a Merkel nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethel Cemetery at Funston with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home of Anson.
Mr. Dillard was born in Goliad and grew up in Leuders. He was the widower of Effie Murray Dillard, whom he married in Leuders in 1933. He owned Dillard Drilling Company in Colorado City. He was a member of the Stamford Masonic Lodge and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Max Dillard of Houston and Ray Dillard of Merkel; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frances Evelyn Durham Prather
WACO - Frances Evelyn Durham Prather, 75, formerly of Comanche, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hall & sons Funeral Home chapel. A Waco-area memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Prather was born in Comanche. She attended Baylor University and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She married Floyd Williams Prather in 1944. She was a performer, music arranger, and taught organ students. She was a worship leader and organist at the First Baptist Church of Comanche.
Survivors include her husband of Waco; one daughter, Sandra Prather Swanson of Waco; one son, Floyd W. "Buddy" Prather of Waco; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

COLEMAN - Robert Lee Salazar, 37, died Tuesday in Drumright, Okla.
Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in the Walker Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Samuel Lopez officiating.
Survivors include his step-father, Martin Cantu of Coleman; two daughters, Amanda Salazar of Missouri and Diana DeLeon of Brownwood; two sons, John Paul Salazar and Alexander Lee Salazar; six sisters, Susie Salazar of Plano, Refugia Garcia of Abilene, Mary Torres of Garland, Ramana Flores of Coleman, Connie Lou of Irving, and Georgia Cantu of Coleman; eight brothers, Raul Salazar of Austin, John Cantu of Mesquite, Jessie Cantu Sr., Pete Cantu, Nick Salazar, Billy Salazar, Richard Salazar and Roy Salazar all of Garland; and five grandchildren.

PARIS - Julia Mae Wadley, 95, died Tuesday in a local hospital
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral home with the Revs. Jerry Moore and Paul Wheelus officiating. Burial will be in the Meadowbrook Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wadley was born in Louisiana. She attended school in Lindale. She was the widow of O.L. Wadley, whom she married in Clarksville in 1924. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Deport.
Survivors include two sond, Donald L. Wadley of Abilene and James C. Wadley of Denver, Col.; one daughter, Helen F. Day of Paris; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Kearns of La.

Bonnie Sue Alpers
Bonnie Sue Alpers, 66, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Epworth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Archie Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alpers was born in Neosho, Mo. She graduated from high school in Prairie Home, Mo. She married Herbert B. Alpers in Boonville, Mo., in 1953. She had lived in Abilene since 1954 and had been employed at several businesses. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; two sons, Larry Alpers and Mark Alpers both of Abilene; three daughters, Pam Craven and Jackie Corley of Abilene, and Linda Reese of Tuscola; one brother, Jack Butcher of Patton Mo.; one sister, Melita Mae Haas of Lake Havasau, Ariz; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial may be sent to the American Lung Association of Epworth United Methodist Church.

William ‘Bill’ Parker
William “Bill” Parker, 73, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. David Leyerle officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.
Mr. Parker was born in Mineola and moved to the area in 1948. He was a self-employed carpenter. He married Dora B. McCormick in Denton Valley in 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Coast Guard and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Raymond Parker of Abilene and Wayne Parker of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Dora Jean French of Hawley, and Evonne Parker, Darlene Peeples and Arlene Brewer all of Abilene; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

George Raymond Dick, Sr.
TUSCOLA — George Raymond Dick, Sr., 79, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Tuscola Church of Christ with Johnny Snow and Jackie McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mr. Dick was born in Gainesville and reared in Oplin. He was the widower of Mary Stewart Dick, whom he married in Cedar Gap in 1942. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 219 in Tuscola and a member of the Order of Arrow, Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the South Park Church of Christ in Abilene and retired from the city of Abilene.
Survivors include four sons, George Raymond Dick, Jr. of Bangs, Danny Carroll Dick of Panama City, Fla., and Frank Fannin Dick and Young Bartley Dick both of Tuscola; two daughters, Mary Ruth Cozby and Deana Beatrice Newman both of Tuscola; four sisters, Alma Johnson of Tuscola, Elva Mae Woody of Cross Plains, and Wilma Jane Johnson and Mamie Ruth Crane both of Abilene; one brother, William “Bill” Dick of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
