Mollie Belle Miller
Mollie Belle Miller, 86, died Thursday at a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Memorial park with the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Miller was born in San Saba and graduated from Westbrook High School. She received nurses’ training in Stamford and work at Hendrick Medical Center for 11 years. She was the widow of L.S. Miller, whom she married in 1933. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Diana Boyle of Houston and Hazel Conaway of Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Oscar C. ‘Doc’ Hammond
EASTLAND — Oscar C. “Doc” Hammond, 86, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Corinth Cemetery, directed by Girdner Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mr. Hammond was born and raised in Wood County. He was a member of the Redland Baptist Church. In 1950, he moved to west Texas where he worked in the oil field and operated service stations.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorece Rust of Cisco; two sons, David Hammond of Cisco and Don Hammond of Andrews; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

M.P. Powers
M.P. Powers, 70, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Michael Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Powers was a U.S. Air Force retired S/Sgt. and also retired from the V.A. Hospital in Salem, Va. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Retired Sgt. Association.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Powers of Abilene; two sisters, Pauline Butler of Aberdeen, Md. and Gladys Gilbert of Manassas, Va.; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.

Claude Garland Edwards, Jr.
THROCKMORTON — Claude Garland Edwards, Jr., 67, died Wednesday in an Abilene Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Throckmorton Church of Christ with the Rev. Claude Brown and Silas Short officiating. Burial will be in Throckmorton Cemetery, directed by Merriman-Archer Funeral Home in Throckmorton.
Mr. Edwards was born in Dickens County. He lived in Childress, McKinney and Throckmorton before moving to Rule. He worked for the Rule Coop Gin and was a member of the church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Bundy Edwards, of the home; six daughters, Virginia Matlock, Dessa LaRue Perez, Debbie Brown, Trinia Edwards, Judy Kay Edwards and Vickie Cooper; five sons, Claude Garland Edwards III, Douglas Edwards, John Claude Guy, Danny G. Edwards and Jim Alan Edwards; two brothers, Billy Edwards and Jesse Harm Edwards; five sisters, Dessa Mae Wallace, Darlene Hagle, LaRue Russell, Claudine Coon and Pam Sullivan; four step-children, Terri Green, Janet Niewyenhause, Benny Bundy and Holly Bundy; 32 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

E. ‘Cooper’ Kilborn
MIDLAND — E. “Cooper” Kilborn, died Thursday.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fairmont Church of Christ with Ralph Gates officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mr. Kilborn was born in Eastland where he attended school. He is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and served in the South Pacific, participating in the invasion of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He worked for Premier Oil and then Magnolia Pipeline which became Mobil Oil until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kilborn of Midland; one son Ron Kilborn of Midland; one daughter, Carol Kilborn Baring of Boerne; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Louise M. Parsons
COLEMAN — Louise M. Parsons, 91, died Thursday in a local care center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial will be in Burkett Cemetery.
Ms. Parson was born in Echo and graduated from Coleman High School. She retired from Coleman Electric Co-op and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five cousins.

Norman Lee Tucker
CLYDE — Norman Lee Tucker, 63, died Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Timms officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Tucker was born in Coleman where he attended school. He married Charlene Bell in Abilene in 1972. He operated Norman tucker Contractors and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Clyde; three sons, Rickey Jones of Clyde, Tony Tucker of Abilene, and Norman Tucker Jr. of Lake Jackson; four daughters, Paula McDowell, Tammy Stephens, and Shelley Wilson all of Clyde, and Becky McCandless of Baytown; two brothers, Wayne Tucker of Abilene and Robert Tucker of Desdemona; two sisters, Loraine Jackson of Abilene and Barbara Wright of Coleman; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

David Wayne Tate
ASPERMONT — David Wayne Tate, 41, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist church with Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.
Mr. Tate was born in Colorado City. He married Linda Crawford in Cibolo in 1993. He was a rancher and employed by the Haskell Livestock Auction.
Survivors include his wife of Aspermont; one son, Johnathan Tate of Aspermont; two daughters, Brandi Tate and Kayla Tate both of Aspermont; step-daughter, Jennie Howell of Abilene; step-son, Ron Howell of Aspermont; his mother, Jo Tate of Aspermont; one brother, Gary Tate of Abilene; two sisters, Carla Clark of Aspermont and Connie Benton of Haskell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Evalynn Ray Marr
HASKELL — Evalynn Ray Marr, 81, died Thursday in an Abilene care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Christ with Dale huff officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Marr was born in Coalgate, Okla. She was the widow of J.B. Marr, whom he married in 1936. She worked at both Oates Drug and the Drug Store in Haskell. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Progressive Study Club. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Von Marr of Abilene and Kenneth Marr of Stamford; two daughters, Joan Marr Davies of Mesa, Ariz. And Elaine Marr Appleton of Abilene; three brothers, jack Ray of Haskell, LeArval Ray of Stephenville and Don Ray of Odessa; two sisters, Audra Holsapple of Haskell and Anna Belle Funk of Santa Rosa, Calif.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

T. Octavene Winn
BROWNWOOD — T. Octavene Winn, 86, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Austin Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Norris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Winn was born in Comanche County. She was the widow of T. Paul Winn, whom she married in Blanket in 1935. They owned and operated Winn Pharmacy. She was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Rowland Winn of Brownwood and Travis Winn of Linsay; four brothers, Don Lanford of Austin, Scott Lanford of Brownwood, Sam Lanford of Champaign, Ill., and Bob Lanford of Temple; two sisters, Ruth Williamson of Kellar and Louise Looney of Woodlands; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
