Myrtie Speck Beauchamp
WICHITA FALLS - Myrtie Speck Beauchamp, 94, formerly of Knox City, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Knox City with the Revs. Johnnye Johnson, John Gillespie, David Beauchamp and Stephen Beauchamp officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beauchamp was born in Haskell County and attended school in Rochester. She was the widow of H.R. Beauchamp, whom he married in Anson in 1925. She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include two sons, Glen Dale Beauchamp of Belton and Cecil Ray Beauchamp of Anson; one daughter, Elrena Essary of Wichita Falls; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Rochester Cemetery Fund or your favorite charity.

G.E. 'Red' Davenport
COLORADO CITY - G.E. "Red" Davenport, 78, died Saturday at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Westbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Lloyd Stice officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Davenport was born in Davis, Okla. He was a retired foreman for Chevron and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include one brother Hugh F. Davenport of Anza, Calif.; two sisters, Dollie Childers of Colorado City and Ida Stokes of Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.

James William 'Jay' Staggs
COLEMAN - James William "Jay" Staggs, 65, of Talpa, died Friday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Wright , Ross Ellis and Clyde Butter officiating. Burial will be in Valera Cemetery.
Mr. Staggs was born in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School. He graduated from Elkins Radio Institute and was a licensed engineer and licensed broadcaster. He married Frances Gulley in Talpa in 1954. He worked as a broadcaster and sales representative for KSTA for several years before purchasing KERC (now KEAS) radio in Eastland. He also worked for Morgan Buildings and was a building superintendent for Fox Photo.
In 1986 he returned to Coleman County and operated the Best Fried Chicken. He was the vice president and director of the Eastland Industrial Foundation and president of the Eastland Chamber of Commerce. He was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and lay speaker for the First Christian Church in Eastland. His awards include Outstanding Young Man and the Golden Deeds Award and outstanding supporter of the Eastland Mavericks Athletic Program.
Survivors include his wife of Talpa; one daughter, Sherry Johnson of Eastland; one son, Jace Staggs of Coleman; his mother, Ruth Staggs of Coleman; four sisters, Lois Weiss of Hallettsville, Patti Hendricks of Brownsville, Ruth Ann Key of Forney, and Betty Cathey of Fort Worth; four brothers, Kenneth Staggs of Coleman, Roy Lee Staggs of Apache Junction, Ariz., Jackie Staggs of Savannah, Ga., and David Staggs of San Marcos; five grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leonard Moore Jr.
WESTBROOK - Leonard Moore Jr., 57, died Friday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Westbrook Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore was born in Mitchell County. He married Judy Hart in Colorado City in 1965. He was a nurse's aide, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Westbrook; one son, Kenneth Moore of Westbrook; two daughters, Larna Poljacik of Norfolk, Va., and Kristi Moore of Westbrook; and three grandchildren.

Ben Tischler
WINTERS - Ben Tischler, 85, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Saint John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. Tischler was born in Hamilton County. He was the widower of Hattie Janner Tischler, whom he married in Priddy in 1929, and Marjorie Stafford, whom he married in Portales, N.M., in 1949. He was a farmer and a former employee of Dry Manufacturing Company. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four sons, Gilbert Tischler of Texas City, Milton Tischler of Buffalo Gap, Billy Tischler of Lampasas, and Douglas Tischler of Dallas; one daughter, Linda Dry of Winters; one sister, Nora Wuistinger of Winters; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 tonight at the funeral home.

Joseph Zane Turner, infant, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Rocky Creek Cemetery with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Survivors include his mother, Shannon Ratto of Abilene; his father, Jay Turner of Abilene; grandparents, Ramona and Jimmy Estes of Abilene; great-grandparents, Jim and Pat Ratto of Abilene; two uncles, Darrol Ratto and Taylor Ratto, both of Abilene; and two cousins.

Dorris F. Lucas
Dorris F. Lucas, 75, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lucas was raised in Abilene. She was the widow of Marvin Hedges, whom she married in Abilene in 1938, and of Charles Lucas, whom she married in 1975. She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Victor Hedges of Irving and Lonnie Hedges of San Antonio; four daughters, Dubby Pemberton of Buchanan Dam, Trish Sudberry and Rickie Young, both of Abilene, and Becky Ramsey of Gatesville; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frankie Roberts of Abilene and Sissy Hill of Lawton, Okla.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

WINTERS - Albert Wuistinger, 88, died Friday in a local nursing home.

Mr. Wuistinger was born in Mills County. He married Nora Tischler in Mills County. He worked for C.L. Green Mill and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of Winters; one son, Norman Wuistinger of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Patsy Seigler of Arkin, S.C., and Mary Coleman of Winters; one sister, Mary Nelson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

BALLINGER - Cleo Lopez Reyes, 70, died Friday in Abilene.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Hubert Wade officiating. Burial will be in the Latin American Cemetery.
Mr. Reyes was born in Paint Rock. He married Jose Hernandez in Melvin in 1951. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of Ballinger; two sons, Johnny Reyes of Ballinger and Danny Reyes of San Jose, Calif.; one daughter Vicki Jalomo of Ballinger; two brothers, John Reyes of Ballinger and Paul Reyes of Abilene; five sisters, Beatrice DelaGarza of Ballinger, Mollie Rodriques of Abilene, Maria Escobar of Chicago., Ill., Elida Lozano of Anson, and Carolina Anaya of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Ethel Mae Elliott
BROWNWOOD - Ethel Mae Elliott, 65, died Friday at her home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Turnbow officiating. Burial will be n the Oakview Cemetery in Mullin.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Muleshoe. She attended school in Grants, N.M. She married Kenneth Larkin Elliott in Brownwood in 1978. She served as a vice president of Southern Savings and Loan and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Early.
Survivors include her husband of Brownwood; six sons, Lloyd A. Tyson of Lawton, Okla., Kelly L. Tyson of Port Arthur, Gary L. Elliott of Midland, Kenny R. Elliott of Ennis, Greg L. Elliott of Midkiff, and Tony J. Elliott of Brownwood; two daughters, Cindy Bechtel of Spencer, N.C., and Tana Roark of Wolf Bayou, Ark.; her father, Richard D. Worthen of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
