Alma Bryan
COLEMAN - Alma H. Bryan, 92, of Santa Anna died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryan was born in Comanche County and grew up in Comanche and Coleman counties. She attended Coleman High School and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Lewis Lee Bryan in 1932 at Brown Ranch; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Bryan of Santa Anna; two sisters, Nora Snider of Coleman and Christine Puckett of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7:30 p.m. today.

Mary Mozelle Shaw
Mary Mozelle Shaw, 101, a lifelong resident of Taylor County, died Sunday at a local nursing center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Bob Scott and David Wray officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Guion in south Taylor County and moved to Abilene in 1901. She graduated from Abilene High School and received a teacher's certificate from Simmons Normal School. She also attended National Business College. She worked for Hardin-Simmons University for 32 years, beginning in 1922 and resigning in 1954 as university hostess. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ and a life member of Abilene Garden Club. She married Willard H. Shaw in 1941 in Sweetwater; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one nephew, two nieces and several great-nephews and -nieces.

Ola Mae Underwood
Ola Mae Underwood, 65, of Abilene died Sunday in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gouldbusk Cemetery in Coleman County with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Underwood was born in Coleman County and graduated from high school in Mozelle. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse, having worked at Brownwood Hospital. She was a Baptist. She married Alvis Leon Underwood in 1977 in Brownwood; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three stepsons, Alvis Underwood Jr. of Odessa and Ronnie Underwood and Rocky Underwood, both of Abilene; two stepdaughters, Darlene Minter and Rhonda Bronner, both of Abilene; one sister, Cleva Pinson of Brownwood; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Carl Davis
Carl Davis, 55, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital.
The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with Dennis Hayes officiating.
Mr. Davis was born in Arizona and moved to Abilene in 1992. He was an Air Force veteran and worked at Dyess Air Force Base; he was with Civil Service for 37 years. He married Aurora Marquez in 1963 in Big Spring.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Denettie Landin of Big Spring; one son, Carl A. Davis of Denver, Colo.; one brother, James Davis of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Denice Sklaenar and Bernice Kramer, both of Chicago; and three grandchildren.

Pheoba Ragsdale
Pheoba Ragsdale, 58, of Abilene died Saturday at a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Chapel Church in Potosi with the Rev. Gary Wood and Wayland Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by North's Funeral Home, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road.
Mrs. Ragsdale was born in Italy, Tex., and moved to Abilene in 1983. She operated a hair salon in Abilene. She married Wayne Ragsdale in 1955 in Fort Worth.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two brothers, Carroll Pittman of Fort Worth and John Pittman of Gastonia, N.C.; three children, Melissa Manly of Fort Worth, Lorinee Leburn of Austin and Shane Ragsdale of Tulsa, Okla.; her mother, Rosalee Howell; and five grandchildren.

Roy Lee Gills
Roy Lee Gills, 88, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Entombment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Gills was born in Foreman, Ark., and attended school in Tom, Okla. He worked at Texas Eastern Refinery in Falfurrias for 21 years and the Mobil Oil Refinery in Falfurrias for seven years. He moved to Abilene from Premont in 1986. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church. He married Nancy Oleta Jones in 1929 in Idabell, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Kenneth Roy Gills of Columbus; one daughter, Ann L. Reeder of Abilene; one sister, Beulah Barrett of Auburndale, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 S. 27th, Abilene 79605.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Bonnie Mitchell Caldwell
SAN ANGELO - Bonnie Mitchell Caldwell, 42, of Mertzon died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Graveside services were Friday in Sherwood Cemetery with Jeffery Lee officiating, directed by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Caldwell was born in Merkel and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married George Christopher Caldwell in 1980 in Midland; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Katrina Caldwell and Chrystal Caldwell, both of Mertzon; three sisters, Emily Ann Rogers of Sweetwater, Laverne Deen of Trent and Wanda Baker of Gatesville; two brothers, Henry Mitchell of Oglesby and Lonnie Mitchell of Abilene; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Harold Leon Coats
MERKEL - Harold Leon Coats, 63, of Abilene died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Coats was born in Taylor County and was an oil field worker and pipefitter for 34¤ years in the Brownwood and Abilene areas. He was a Baptist and a member of the Pipefitters Union.
Survivors include five daughters, Lisa Gruetzner and Tracy Parker, both of LaPorte, Cara Meeker and Jan Skinner, both of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Kristi Williams of Abilene; three sisters, Peggy Black and Oma Hurley, both of Merkel, and Patsy Poe of Lake Brownwood; and three grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Anne Elizabeth Weatherred Hemphill
COLEMAN - Anne Elizabeth Weatherred Hemphill, 92, a lifelong Coleman County resident, died Monday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Hamp Linehan officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gary Boyd. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hemphill was born in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School. She attended the University of Texas and graduated from C.I.A. (now the University of North Texas). She taught school at Brown Ranch and was a member of First Baptist Church and Esther Sunday school class. She married Charles Wade Hemphill Jr. in 1929 in Coleman.
Survivors include one son, Charles James Hemphill of Coleman; one daughter, Ruth Ann Hemphill Taylor of Raymondville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to West Texas Boys Ranch, West Texas Rehabilitation Center, First Baptist Church of Coleman or the donor's favorite charity.

Melba Lurlene Greer
ZEPHYR - Melba Lurlene Greer, 76, died Sunday at an Odessa hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zephyr Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Swindler officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Greer was born in Brownwood, here she lived most of her life. She was a Baptist and retired from Brownwood Independent School District. She married Alvin Greer in 1936 in Brown County; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Al Greer of San Antonio; one sister, Dorothy Greer of Andrews; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
