Cuyler Bernice Stanford
LUEDERS - Cuyler Bernice Stanford, 92, died Monday at a Stamford nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford with the Revs. Stan Leaf and DeWayne Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford.
Mrs. Stanford was born in Haskell County and lived in Haskell and Jones counties all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Lueders United Methodist Church. She married Glenn Stanford in 1926 in Albany.
Survivors include her husband, of Lueders; one son, Kenneth Stanford of Amarillo; one daughter, Joyce Kelly of Granbury; one sister, Maxine Minter of Lewisville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Eleno Martinez
COLEMAN - Eleno Martinez, 92, died Sunday at a Brownwood hospital.
Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today with the Rev. Lawrence Cyr officiating. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Herrmann officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery, directed by Henderson Funeral Home.
Mr. Martinez was born in Coleman County, where he lived all her life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a retired trackman for Santa Fe Railroad. He married Theresa Perez in 1926 in Melvin; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Amelia Martinez DeLeon of Santa Anna; one brother, C.G. Martinez of Fort Worth; three sisters, Eduarda Garcia of Corpus Christi, Isabel Lopez and Tomasa Martinez, both of Santa Anna; four grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

James David Parten
CISCO - James David Parten, 62, died Saturday after an accident near Cross Plains.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at I-20 Church of Christ with Gary Adams officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mr. Parten was born in Carbon and graduated from Carbon High School. He graduated from Cisco Junior College with an associate's degree and was a salesman for Mrs. Baird's Bread, where he had worked for 38 years. He was an Army veteran of the Berlin Crisis and a member of I-20 Church of Christ. He married Dixie Maxwell in 1981 in Waurika, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, of Cisco; four sons, David Parten of Kalamazoo, Mich., Larry Parten of Chancellor, Ala., and John Exline and Tod Parten, both of Cisco; one daughter, Jennifer Parten of Cisco; his twin brother, Harold Parten of Rockdale; one sister, Florence Mitchell of Fort Worth; and one grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

William Franklin 'Bill' Slusher
CISCO - William Franklin "Bill" Slusher, 92, died Monday at an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jo Coppinger officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Slusher was born in Wier City, Kan., and had worked for Sinclair Oil and Bunker Hill Mining as a machinist. He was a member of the Machinist Union and Putnam Baptist Church. He married Rose Belle Slusher in 1930 in Independence, Kan.; she preceded him in death. He married Susie Davis in 1990 in Scranton.
Survivors include his wife, of Cisco; three daughters, Ruth Lindsey of Rainbow, Hazel Hickman of Worley, Idaho, and Ethel Sperry of Lewiston, Idaho; one son, James Slusher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Aleta Mae Boland Chambers
BROWNWOOD - Aleta Mae Boland Chambers, 85, died Sunday in San Antonio.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Chambers was born in the Amity community and was a longtime resident of Early and Brown County. She graduated from May High School in 1931 and attended Howard Payne University. She was a homemaker and worked in the student aid office at HPU. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Peggy Boone Bible class. She moved to San Antonio in 1996. She was the widow of O.B. Chambers.
Survivors include one son, Gary Chambers of San Antonio; one brother, Hugh Boland of Plano; five nieces, one nephew and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
Memorials may be made to the O.B. Chambers Memorial Scholarship Fund at Howard Payne University.

Claude Louis Buster
MERKEL - Claude Louis Buster, 91, died Monday in Merkel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Buster was born in Maryneal and moved to Merkel in 1979. He was a tool die machinist and worked for H.E. Smith Machine Co. He was a Baptist. He married Ruth Davis Pangle in 1979 in Canyon; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, P.H. Buster of Sweetwater, and one sister, Talma Eugene Hupfield of Merkel.

Elmer R. Leasure Jr.
Elmer R. Leasure Jr., 79, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Rev. Arthur Lowe officiating. The body will be cremated.
Mr. Leasure was born in Jeannette, Pa. He married Marlene Petrosky in Harrison City, Pa., in 1958. He was active in the Abilene Bowhunters Association as the area chief and in the Hunter Education Program. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a retired Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald Keith Leasure and Rodney Alan Leasure, both of Abilene, and Elmer R. Leasure III of Centerville, Tenn.; two daughters, Rita Howells of Bethlehem, Pa., and Rebecca Marianne Shaw of Grape Creek; one brother, Alexander Leasure of Lawn; one sister, Lucretia Ellis of Abilene; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Myrle Dean Parish
Myrle Dean Parish, 88, formerly of San Antonio, died Monday at a local care center.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elmwood West United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Doyle officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Parish was born in Dublin. She attended Hillsboro Junior College. She was the widow of Clarence H. Parish, whom she married in Cisco in 1929. She was a member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Rose Park Senior Citizens Center and the West Central Texas Council of Governments. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Mickey Parish of San Antonio and C.H. “Buddy” Parish of Abilene; one daughter, Anetta Parish of Tulsa, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.

Carl Dean Stacy
GORMAN — Carl Dean Stacy, 66, died Monday at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Durward Webb officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Stacy was born in Eastland County. He was the widower of Verlon Eakin, whom he married in DeLeon in 1949. He married Bertie Martin in 1975 in Midland. He owned Stacy’s Gulf Station and Bertie’s Diner. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Gorman; one son, Scott Stacy of Gorman; one daughter Julia Wilder of Hot Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
