J.P. 'Jack' Bowden
COLEMAN -- J.P. "Jack" Bowden, 78, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Stumph officiating. Burial will be in Brown Ranch Cemetery.
Mr. Bowden was born in Plymouth, Pa., where he attended school, and served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He married Nelline Bell in 1957 in Fisk and worked for GTE in telephone equipment sales and later as sales supervisor of the Southwest region until retiring in 1982. He lived in San Angelo, Robstown and Lewisville before moving to Coleman in 1982 and was a Charismatic Christian.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one brother, William Bowden of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Muscavage and Margaret Skvarla, both of Plymouth, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society.

Kenneth Eugene Richardson
BIG SPRING -- Kenneth Eugene Richardson, 23, of Stephenville, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday in Stephenville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Big Spring with the Rev. Ben Neel, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Mr. Richardson was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. He came to Big Spring in 1978 as a child and attended Big Spring schools, graduating from Big Spring High School in 1993. He attended Tarleton State University and graduated last month with a bachelor's degree in finance. He was a member and outgoing president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Tarleton. While at Tarleton he was involved in student government. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Ray Kennedy of Big Spring; his father and stepmother, Robert and Linda Richardson of Roscoe; a brother, Michael Richardson of Stephenville; two sisters, Stefanie Kennedy of Big Spring and Krista Richardson of Sweetwater; his grandmothers, Helen Dial of Oklahoma City, Bernice Richardson of Mineral Wells and Jean Emerson of Big Spring; his grandfather, Paul Kennedy of Heflin, Ala., and his great-grandmother, Reba Rogan of Big Spring.

R.W. Cagle
BIG SPRING -- R.W. Cagle, 84, died Thursday at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Paul B. Keele, pastor of West Angelo Church of Christ, San Angelo, and Robert Turner, pastor of Oasis Church of Christ, officiating.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Stag Creek Cemetery between Rising Star and Comanche.
Mr. Cagle was born in Eastland County. He worked as a conductor for T&P Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1978. He was active with the Senior Citizen Center. He was a member of Oasis Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Cagle of Big Spring, Joe Cagle of Carbon and Bud Cagle of Odessa; a daughter, Agatha Thomasson of Clyde; a sister, Conova Weaver of Comanche; a brother, Lohman Cagle of Comanche; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to Family Hospice, 3210 E. 11th Place, Big Spring, 79720.

Lisa Sue Mirau
BROWNWOOD -- Lisa Sue Mirau, 31, of Farmersville, formerly of Garland, died Thursday at her Farmersville residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Mirau was born in Garland. She was a resident of Farmersville since 1971 and graduated from Farmersville High School. She was an accountant. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Farmersville.
Survivors include her parents, Michael J. Mirau of Merit and Shirley Boyd Mirau of Farmersville; three brothers, Michael Mirau of Dallas, Brian Mirau of Alta, N.M., and Chris Boyd of Brownwood.

Pauline Elkins Wilson Whiteside
Pauline Elkins Wilson Whiteside, 80, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elmdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Whiteside was born in Coleman County and lived in Abilene most of her life. She worked in civil service as a mechanic on B-52 bombers during World War II and was a homemaker. She was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church and was the widow of John J. Whiteside.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Davis of Abilene; one brother, Doyle Elkin of Midlothian; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Antonio Lopez Valdez
Antonio Lopez Valdez, 90, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Valdez was born in Monterrey N.L., Mexico and worked in the maintenance department for the city of Abilene. He also was employed by Batjer Associates and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Frank Valdez of Garden Grove, Calif.; one daughter, Lupe Villalobos of Abilene; three brothers, Jose Valdez, Leon Valdez and Manuel Valdez, all of Abilene; three sisters, Dolores V. Guyton, Maria Valdez and Juanita Valdez, all of Abilene; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Patricia Taylor
CLYDE -- Patricia Taylor, 61, died Tuesday at her home after a long illness.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Hamilton, Ontario, where she married Jim Taylor in 1959. She moved to Texas in 1959 and worked as a registered nurse for many years at Callahan County Hospital in Baird, and West Texas Medical Center, Humana Hospital and Coronado Nursing Home, all in Abilene. She was a member of St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Clyde; one daughter, Kathleen Rohmer of Magnolia; five sons, Luke Taylor, Glenn Taylor and Steve Taylor, all of Abilene, Jim Taylor Jr. of Katy and Joe Taylor of Clyde; three sisters, Joan Paxton and Colleen Kennedy, both of Hamilton, Ontario, and Ruth Cahill of Mississauga, Ontario; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

Stephanie Kay Whitworth
DOOLE -- Stephanie Kay Whitworth, 29, a 1998 graduate of Abilene Christian University, died Tuesday from injuries received in an automobile accident south of Doole.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Brady First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cathy Caudle, Dr. John Alsup and LeRoy Beach officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, directed by Leatherwood-Colonial Funeral Home of Brady.
Miss Whitworth was born in Fredericksburg and was a lifelong resident of the Brady area. She graduated from Brady High School in 1987 and was a stock farmer, having raised registered Angora goats. She helped with the elderly and Meals on Wheels. She was a former poster child for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and was a member of Brady Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her parents, V.C. and Jo Ann Whitworth of Doole; two brothers, Michael Whitworth of Brady and David Whitworth of Junction; one sister, Cynthia Quinn of Brady; five nieces and four nephews; four aunts and three uncles; and one great-aunt.
Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center or Brady Presbyterian Church.

Lilla Mae Carr
ALBANY -- Lilla Mae (Mrs. W.R.) Carr, 87, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Albany First Baptist Church with the Revs. John Tunnell, Dewey Lamb and Don Clevenger officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Faulkenbury Cemetery in Groesbeck, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carr was born in Groesbeck and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of William R. Carr, whom she married in 1927 in Groesbeck.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Burge of Albany; two sons, Michael "Mike" Carr of Deer Park and Bill "Sonny" Carr of Abilene; one brother, Jack D. Stewart of San Antonio; one sister, Ruby Mitchell of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Retired Marine Corps Maj. Thomas Lever Linder
BRECKENRIDGE -- Retired U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Thomas Lever Linder, 53, died June 9 in Bangkok, Thailand after a heart attack.
Services will be Sunday in Columbia, S.C.
Mr. Linder was a Mason and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Linder of Atlanta; one daughter, Marissa Linder of Columbia, S.C.; his mother, Ismae Linder of Columbia, S.C.; and one brother, L.C. Linder of Bangkok, Thailand.
