Neil Ellison Rogers
GORMAN — Neil Ellison Rogers, 72, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Memorial services will be Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Eastland with Brother Rod Lotspeach officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Rogers was born in El Reno, Okla. He married Judith Ann Temple in Ontario, Calif., in 1958. He worked for Kaiser Steel in California and for J.J. Finley in Eastland.
Survivors include his wife of Gorman; five sons, Gregory Rogers of Apple Valley, Calif., Timothy Rogers of Gorman, Eric Rogers and Brian Rogers, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dustin Rogers of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Melissa Blankenship and Robin Pacheco, both of Gorman; two sisters, Neva Ross and Dorothy Lebleu of Gorman; and 10 grandchildren.

Billy Rex Zirkle
RISING STAR — Billy Rex Zirkle, 80, died Tuesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Rising Star Cemetery.
Mr. Zirkle was born in Burkett. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Bea Haney, and also the widower of Allene Corley, whom he married in Glen Rose in 1971. He was a farmer and a rancher, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Jones of Trent; one daughter, Sandy Clarke of Fort Worth; two sisters, Glennie Glass of Brownwood and Christine Jones of Coleman; two brothers, Doyle Johnson of Waco and Bobby Johnson of Rankin; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Monroe Gordon Shaw
EARLY — Monroe Gordon Shaw, 75, died Wednesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Chapel with the Rev. Dan Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Shaw was born in Brady and had lived in Brownwood since 1954. He was the widower of Mary Louellen Cunningham, whom he married in Brady in 1942. He was a Pentecostal and a member of Trinity Chapel in Early.
Survivors include four sons, Ebbon Shaw of Early, and Dale Shaw, O.A. Shaw, and Leo Shaw, all of Brownwood; four daughters, Jean Warren of Bangs, Minnie Glasscock of Tyler, and Patsy Karnes and Judy Karnes, both of Brownwood; one brother, Omer Shaw of Brady; two sisters, Oma Warren and Lena Eakin, both of Brownwood; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lillie Leona Wilson
HAMLIN — Lillie Leona Wilson, 103, a longtime Jones County resident, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Foster-Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Brigham and Randy Lapenteur officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Anson.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Arkansas and moved to Hamlin in 1965. She was the widow of Tom Wilson, whom she married in 1921. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Lorene Kelly of Sylvester, Lou Riddle of Abilene, and Earlene Wilson and Laverne Wall, both of Hamlin; one brother, Wade Ewing of West Columbia; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren.

William Fred Bell
BOWIE — William Fred Bell, 88, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Stoneburg.
Mr. Bell was born in Gary and had been an Abilene resident for 13 years. He was the widower of Lela Mae Winingham, whom he married in Bowie in 1936. He had worked as a self-employed contractor, as a superintendent for Harry Campbell Construction and for both the City of Abilene and the City of Wichita Falls. He retired from West Texas Culverts. He was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Bell of Tuscola; one brother, Trib Bell of Lorena; and two grandchildren.

Gladys Irene Armstrong
MINERAL WELLS — Gladys Irene Armstrong, 92, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Otwell officiating, directed by White’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Armstrong was the widow of G.Q. Armstrong. She was a homemaker and a Sunday School teacher for the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Alan Armstrong of Mineral Wells; two daughters, Willie Otwell of Fort Worth and Gwen McCraw of Bowie; three sisters, Helen Freeman of Cross Plains, Doris Jones of Henderson, and Verda Upton of Palestine; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Curtis Love
ROCHESTER — William Curtis Love, 92, died Wednesday at a Haskell nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Truett Kuenstler officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Love was born in Comanche County. He was the widower of Johnnie Mae Wolfe, whom he married in Haskell in 1935. He was a merchant and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Grace Bishop of Rule, Mildred Howell of Plano, and Thelma Mitchell and Bonnie Holmes, both of Lubbock.

Bobby Eugene Masters
GRAHAM — Bobby Eugene Masters, 57, died Tuesday in a Forth Worth hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Eugene Weldon and James C. Hill officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hawley Cemetery.
Mr. Masters was born in Cleburne. He married Donna Patricia Russell in Laughlin, Nev., in 1999. He was a retired self-employed construction worker and a member of the Graham Promenaders, American Chuck Wagon Association, and the First Baptist Church in Bryson.
Survivors include his wife of Graham; one daughter, Christa Loftis of Graham; four sons, Joe Charles Lawson of Abilene, Jerry Lawson of Waxahachie; Allen Lawson of Fort Worth, and Jacob Masters of Alpine; two brothers, Roy Masters of Houma, La. and James Masters of Forth Worth; and seven grandchildren.

Larry ‘Pat’ Hyman
FORT WORTH — Larry “Pat” Hyman, 59, died Monday at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Hyman was born in Stamford and had lived in Forth Worth for over 30 years. He was married to Judy Hyman of Fort Worth. He had worked for Ralph Owens Trucking Company and was a member of Tarrant Masonic Lodge 942.
Survivors include his wife of Fort Worth; two daughters, Cheri Betz of Azle and Jana Miller of Godley; his mother, Opal Lee Hughes of Abilene; and four grandchildren.

Clem Lewis Ware
MIDLAND — Clem Lewis Ware, 79, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church with the Revs. Richard Edwards, Cletus Beights, and Jarrell H. Sharp officiating, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mr. Ware was born in Sherman and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the North Atlantic, European, North Africa, and South Pacific Theaters. He was the widower of both Anita May Middleton and Margaret Kelsey Barnes. He then married Reta Patterson. He was a Certified Professional Landman and taught courses at Midland College. He was retired from the Flour Energy Corporation. He was a member of Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church. He was a York and Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the AF&AM Lodge No. 623.
Survivors include his wife of Midland; one daughter, Anita Louise League of Seattle, Wash.; four stepdaughters, Robbie Lyle of Ralls, Barbara Weed of Austin, Sandra Townsend of Merkel, and Bertha Sharp of Midland; one stepson, Bobby Ware of Tom Ball; four grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Watkins Scholarship, Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church, or favorite charity.
