Flora Gladys Douglass
Flora Gladys Douglass of Abilene died Saturday at a local convalescent center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with John Risse officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Douglass was born in Doyle, Tenn., and had lived in Abilene most of her life. She was the widow of Carl G. Douglass, whom she married in Ada, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Foster of Abilene; three sisters, Ruth Baker of Abilene, Ernestine Fallis of Dallas, and Mildred Moore of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Acie Woodrow Martin
Acie Woodrow Martin, 86, of Abilene, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Round Mound Cemetery in Jones County with the Rev. Herchel Thomas officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Martin was born in Dressy in Callahan County and attended school in Burkett. He married Jewel Abbie McMillan in Burkett in 1935. In 1962, he moved from Corpus Christi to Abilene where he owned and operated Martin and Sons Welding Service until his retirement in 1979. He was also a courier for Hendrick Medical Center. He attended Oak Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Ricky Martin of Abilene and Tommy Martin of Eula; one daughter, Betty Elliott of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Borden Heslep
Borden Heslep, 68, a native of the Big Country, died Friday at his residence in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Putnam Cemetery with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Heslep was born in Callahan County and graduated from Abilene High School. He was the owner and operator of Borden Repair Service for 31 years before his retirement in 1995. He had also worked for J. Floyd Malcolm, Sears, and Metropolitan Life. He married Frances Crow in Abilene in 1953. He was a member of North Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Gary Heslep and John Heslep, both of Abilene; a daughter, Burgess Spencer of Cabot, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kathryn 'Kate' Oliver
BRONTE - Kathryn "Kate" Oliver, 86, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pine River Valley Cemetery Chapel, Bayfield, Colo. Local arrangements are through Shaffer Funeral Home of Bronte. Colorado arrangements are through Hood Mortuary, Durango, Colo.
Mrs. Oliver was born in Nolan County. She was the widow of Homer Oliver, whom she married in Sweetwater in 1933. The Olivers were farmers and ranchers in Nolan County until 1952 when they moved to Bayfield, Colo.
Survivors include two sons, Alfred Oliver of Bronte and Charles Oliver of Bayfield, Colo.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Family Hospice, 1121 S. Bryant Blvd., San Angelo, Texas.

Emma Christine Cantrell
THROCKMORTON - Emma Christine Cantrell, 79, died Friday in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elbert Baptist Church with Wayne Echols and Marty Light officiating. Burial will be in Elbert Cemetery, directed by Merriman-Archer Funeral Home of Throckmorton.
Mrs. Cantrell was born in Throckmorton County. She was the widow of Raymond Cantrell, whom she married in Elbert in 1940. She had been a cook at the Throckmorton Hospital for many years and also had farmed and ranched. She was a member of the Elbert Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wilton Cantrell of Elbert and R.D. Hickam of Olney; one brother, Ralph Hickam of Bernalillo, N.M.; one sister, Helen Watts of Hereford; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Elbert Cemetery Association, Elbert, Texas.

Bettifriend ‘BF’ Stuerzenberger
Bettifriend “BF” Stuerzenberger, 70, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. Msgr. Fred Nawarskas officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Stuerzenberger was born in Flora, Ill., and was a real estate broker for many years. She was a past member of Abilene Board of Realtors and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Abilene Ladies golf Association and za life member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Stuerzenberger of Abilene; two sons, Paul Stuerzenberger of Abilene and Tim Stuerzenberger of Bedford; an aunt and five grandchildren.

Dessie Maye Carlisle
Dessie Maye Carlisle, 79, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.

Mrs. Carlisle was born in Girard and graduated from Jayton High School. She moved to Abilene from Stamford in 1952 and was a homemaker and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She married Charles Wray Carlisle in 1938 in Jayton.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two daughters, Dolores A. Bailey of San Jacinto, Calif., and Janice M. Cauthen of Abilene; two brothers, Melvin Taylor of Anson and Jesse Merle Taylor of Fort Worth; three sisters, Ruby Lee Hayhurst of Visalia, Calif., Anna Belle Thomas of Big Sandy and Dorothy Marie Morgan of Post; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Wynelle Dodds
BRECKENRIDGE — Wynelle Dodds, 66, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Melton Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rex Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Dodds was born in Breckenridge and moved to Abilene from Midland in 1977. She was a telephone operator and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Dodds of Abilene; one daughter, Renee Warren of San Angelo; one son, Rex Dodds of Breckenridge; two sisters, Hazel Lindley of Abilene and Shirley Power of Breckenridge; and two grandsons.

Jesse Dudley Hamilton
COLEMAN — Jesse Dudley Hamilton, 84, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker funeral Home Chapel with James Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Mr. Hamilton was born and attended school in White Chapel. He was an Army Corps of Engineers veteran of World War II and was retired from the city of Coleman. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hamilton of Coleman; two daughters, Sandra Kay Lester of Abilene and Patricia Aleene Campbell of Coleman; one son, Michael Thomas Hamilton of Huntsville; one sister, Aleene Jones of Coleman; three brothers, Weldon Hamilton of Coleman, Harold Hamilton of Clyde and Randall Hamilton of Big Sandy; and five grandchildren.
