Elaine Frances Bennett-Bates
Elaine Frances Bennett-Bates, 39, died Friday, April 2.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. K.R. White officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mrs. Bennett-Bates was born in Abilene. She graduated from Hawley High School and attended Angelo State University. She had been a long-time Austin resident and had been employed by the Texas MHMR . She was a member of the Black Data Processors Association and the ISSC. She married Don Carl Bates and moved to Dayton, Nev.
Survivors include her husband of Dayton, Nev.; her parents Samuel and Ester Bennett of Hawley; one sister, Teresa Burkes of Austin; two stepdaughters, Amber Bilbeaux of Austin and Tanya Bates of Fairfield, Calif; one stepson, James Bates of Citrus Heights, Calif; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Amelia Ozuna
HASKELL - Amelia Ozuna, 81, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Haskell with her son, Domingo Ozuna, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Ozuna was born in Stamford. She was the widow of Silbestre R. Ozuna, whom she married in Stamford in 1931. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She had traveled to Mexico on mission work.
Survivors include five daughters, Christina Bryant of Plainview, Candie Galindo of Dallas, Susie Gonzales of Dimmitt, and Betty Martin and Janie Alexander, both of Haskell; five sons, Luis Ozuna Sr. of Henrietta, Domingo Ozuna of Dallas, J.B. Ozuna Jr. and Mike Ozuna, both of Denton, and Danny Ozuna of McAllen; two brothers, Miquel Dominquez of Wichita Falls and Eluterio Dominquez of Mexico; two sisters, Juanita Dominquez of California and Petra DeFelix of Mexico; 43 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Forrest C. Boyd
BROWNWOOD - Forrest C. Boyd, 96, a long-time Brownwood resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Art Allen officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. Boyd was born in Van West, Ohio. He married Thelma F. Beatty in Guthrie, Okla. in 1930. He was a retired District Superintendent for Sinclair Oil Company which became Atlantic Richfield. He was a member of First Christian Church of Mt. Carmel, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one daughter, Peggy Gottschalk of Brownwood; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mattie Lou Layman Brinson
ARLINGTON - Mattie Lou Layman Brinson, 73, died Wednesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Comanche.
Mrs. Brinson was born in Comanche. She was the widow of Austin Neal Brinson, whom she married in Comanche in 1941. She had worked as a telephone operator for GTE and had lived in Arlington for six years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Vikki Pier of Colleyville; one son, Austin N. Brinson Jr. of Austin; one brother, Richard Layman of Buda; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Imarene Jones
COLEMAN - Imarene Jones, 78, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Darnell and James Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born in Glen Cove where she attended school. She married Felix Jones in Coleman in 1927. She had also lived in Tahoka, Pecos and Idalou before returning to Coleman in 1996. She was a homemaker and had been active in the Idalou Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Elm Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Coleman; one son, Bobby Jones of Crosbyton; three daughters, Kathryn Benton of Buda, Bonnie Whittle of Marble Falls, and Helen Bozeman of Idalou; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maude Allison
BRECKENRIDGE - Maude Allison, 79, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital due to injuries received in a car accident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Andrew Channer officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery, directed by Morehart Mortuary.
Mrs. Allison was born in Ranger and grew up in Eliasville where she graduated from high school. She married M.O. "Shorty" Allison in Breckenridge in 1945. She was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church and had served as Worthy Grand Matron of Breckenridge and Deputy Grand Matron of Texas in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member of the Stephens Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary and had served as the coordinator for the Meals on Wheels program. She had worked at the First National Bank for 38 years as a vice president and loan officer. Her honors included Citizen of the Year by the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club, Eckerd's 100 Top Volunteers of America, Masonic Lodge of Texas Community Builder's Award, and Parade Marshall of the Breckenridge Christmas Parade.
Survivors include her husband of Breckenridge; one daughter, Judy Credicott of Abilene; two sisters, Evelyne Johnson of Breckenridge and Eunice Hollenbach of Fort Worth; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels or First Presbyterian Church.

Charlie Eugene Tomme
WINTERS - Charlie Eugene Tomme, 84, died Thursday in a Llano hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery with Charles Ball officiating, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. Tomme was born in Valley Springs in Llano County. He served in the signal corps in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the widower of Pauline Cunningham Tomme, whom he married in Menard in 1960. They lived in Post prior to moving to Winters in 1970. He was self-employed and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Addie Jo Prescott of Kingsland and Alma Lou Key of Big Spring; two sisters, Jewell Davee of Burnett and Annie Moore of Porterville, Calif.; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lena L. Campbell
ALBANY - Lena L. Campbell, 64, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Albany Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Packwood officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mrs. Campbell was born in West Virginia. She was the widow of Manley Cletus Campbell Jr. She had managed the Kay Apartments in Albany and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Manley Cletus Campbell III of Abilene; three daughters, Leslie Campbell of Odessa, Shirley Williams of Albany, and Teresa Sutton of Abilene; four sisters, Bernice Lehman of Washington, Anna Deavers, Bentonville, Va., Mary Fitzgerald of Montebello, Va., and Betty Melin of Manassas, Va.; and six grandchildren.

Bob Loyd
BLACKWELL - Bob Loyd, 86, died Thursday at his residence.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Winters Funeral Home with Lloyd Swindle officiating. Burial will be in the Wingate Cemetery.
Mr. Loyd was born in Winfield, Alabama and graduated from Wingate High School. He operated a service station in Wingate prior to moving to Winters in 1945. He had worked for Texas Pacific Coal and Oil Company, Humble Oil and Refining Company, and owned Bob Loyd LP Gas Company. He was a member of the Wingate Lion's Club, Winters Area Chamber of Commerce, Wingate Masonic Lodge and the University Church of Christ. He attended the Wingate Church of Christ. He married Lois Seals in 1982.
Survivors include his wife of Blackwell; two daughters, Sheri Miller and Brenda Buckley, both of Abilene; one sister, Nell Hughes of Irving; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care.
