Edward Earl Thomas
BRADSHAW - Edward Earl Thomas, 35, of Abilene and formerly of Bradshaw, died Tuesday in Macon County, Ala.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Bradshaw Cemetery with the Rev. Don Ladner officiating, directed by Winters Funeral Home of Winters.
Mr. Thomas was born in Grapevine and moved to Bradshaw in 1971. He graduated from Jim Ned High School in Tuscola in 1982 and worked as a truck driver for C&A Transport in Abilene. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Abilene.
Survivors include three children, Tara Thomas, Tanya Thomas and Todd Thomas; his mother, Shirley Drain of Marble City, Okla.; five sisters, Sherry Lane and Lynn Townsend, both of Abilene, Julie Wilkerson of Winters, Bobbie Martin of Clyde and Terrie Baker of Baird; and one uncle and one aunt.

Reta Allene Morris
COMANCHE - Reta Allene Morris, 88, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Lee Miller officiating. Burial will be in Pendergrass Cemetery in Comanche County.
Mrs. Morris was born in Sidney, where she married Roy Morris in 1927, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sidney Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Nadine Allen of Kermit, LaVern Wood of Aspermont, and Wanda Drake and Peggy Hand, both of Sidney; four sons, Roy Morris, Lane D. Morris and Mickey Morris, all of Sidney, and George Morris of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Anna Lucille Sipe
SWEETWATER - Anna Lucille Sipe, 83, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Buddy Sipe, Orvel Brantley and Travis Monday officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sipe was born in Longworth and was a lifelong resident of Fisher and Nolan counties. She moved to Sweetwater in 1952 from Longworth She worked as a licensed vocational nurse at the Sweetwater hospital for 34 years, with a total of 15 years in the surgical and obstetrics departments and nursery. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the widow of Noah Miles Sipe, whom she married in 1934 in Longworth.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Newman of Sweetwater and Floy Skelton of Abilene; one son, the Rev. Buddy Martin Sipe of Cottonwood; one sister, Willow Osterhout of Blackwell, Okla.; four brothers, O.C. "Spot" Hale of Eastland, Hilbern Hale of Artesia, N.M., James Hale of Irving and Jack Hale of Andrews; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Russell Erving Nelson
ALBANY, Ore. - Russell Erving Nelson, 80, father of an Abilene resident, died Thursday in Lebanon, Ore.
Services will be Monday in Aasum Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial will be in Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home, Ore.
Mr. Nelson was born in Cushing, Wis., and attended school in Roosevelt, Minn. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Alliene Tucker in 1943 in Abilene. He moved to Sweet Home, Ore. in 1950 and worked at Willamette National Sawmill. He was an oilfield roughneck and truck driver in Silver, Texas from 1953-55. He then returned to Sweet Home, Ore., and started Nelson Logging Co. He owned and operated Nelson Roofing in Corvallis, Ore. He lived in both Corvallis and North Albany, Ore., before moving to Albany. He also was employed by Van Plywood, later Stone Forest Products, as a carpenter and millwright for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, of Lebanon, Ore.; one son, J.E. Jones of Abilene; two daughters, Marlyce Girard of Brownsville, Ore., and Patsy J. Howard of North Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Elnora Ericksen of Canby, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Gabler
SWEETWATER - Dorothy Gabler, 76, lifelong area resident, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Phil Collard and Larry Fluitt officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Gabler was born in Wastella and married O.C. Gabler in 1939 in Roscoe. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., and was a member of Roscoe Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Sweetwater; one son, Larry Gabler of Sweetwater; two daughters, Lynda High and Nelda Gortney, both of Sweetwater; two brothers, Bobby Wayne Kreidel of Sweetwater and Bill Kreidel of Midland; two sisters, Jonell Tidwell of Sweetwater and Margie Vernon of Burleson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Deborah "Susie" Barker
Deborah "Susie" Barker, 45, of Abilene, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, with Chaplain David Mickey of Hendrick Hospice Care officiating. Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes, 542 Hickory, will officiate.
She was born in Waukegan, Ill., and had lived in Abilene the past 20 years. She attended Cisco Junior College and Abilene Commercial College. She had been an assistant store manager for Circle K Convenience stores in Abilene for the past three years. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include her stepfather, Vaden Lonnie Dean of Tuscola; two sons, Richard Eugene Barker and Randall Lee Barker, both of Abilene; two sisters, Donna Rae Blanks of Kansas City, Mo., and Robin Kae Dalton of Beeville; and one niece.

Clellie Mae Miller
Clellie Mae Miller, 94, of Abilene, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John Risse officiating, and directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Born in Rice, Texas, she lived in Abilene most of her life. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for 27 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club and the Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, David H. Miller of Abilene; one sister, Glennie Griffith of Big Spring; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 1201 N. Willis 2-4 p.m. today.

Cecil Urquhart
Cecil Urquhart of Abilene died Friday at an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Abilene State School Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Bingham officiating, under direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Urquhart was born in 1947 and had been a resident of Abilene State School for 38 years.
Survivors include an aunt and uncle, Glen and Marie Urquhart; a cousin, Judy Craven, and her daughter.

Abel Benavides
HASKELL - Abel Benavides, 47, formerly of Haskell, died Thursday at his home in Fort Worth.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the New Covenant Foursquare Church in Haskell with the Rev. Martin Silvas officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Cemetery.
Mr. Benavides was born April 3 in Robstown and graduated from Haskell High School. He worked as a furniture mover in the Fort Worth area.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Ann Benavides, in 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jo Benavides of Lampasas; his mother, Elida Benavides of Fort Worth; two sisters, Elma Silvas of Haskell and Irene Arriaga of Fort Worth; three brothers, Reyes Benavides of Haskell, Reynaldo Benavides of Abilene and Robelin Benavides of West Columbia; and one grandchild.
The family will be at 903 N. Avenue H. in Haskell.
