L.C. Reagor
L.C. Reagor, 95, of Abilene, died Thursday at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the New Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Leo F. Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home.
Mr. Reagor was born in Ellis County and moved to Abilene in 1935. He married Carrie Mae Hurd in Abilene in 1938. He was retired from KRBC-TV and served in several positions at the New Light Baptist Church where he was a member.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Theatlas Reagor of Banning, Calif.; one daughter, Katie Shepard of Banning, Calif.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. today.

Brandi Bird
Brandi Bird, 18, of Abilene, died on Saturday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Gipson Hunter-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with the Rev. Vic Bass officiating. Military graveside services will be in Whitehouse Cemetery, directed by Barksdale Air Force Base.
Ms. Bird was born in Lufkin. She was a member of the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. She was a graduate of Diboll High School and a Baptist.
Survivors include her parents, Sandi and Fred Bradbury of Lufkin; two sisters, Julie Nash and MeLisa Johnson, both of Lufkin; grandparents, Geraldine Howell of Diboll and Daniel Bird of Oklahoma City, Okla; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Melissa Bardin and Megan Bardin
Melissa Bardin and Megan Bardin, infant twin daughters of Todd and Carmel Bardin of Abilene, died Tuesday at a local hospital
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with the Rev. Stan Allcorn officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Survivors include the parents of Abilene; one brother, Matthew Bardin of Abilene; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Carolyn Asher of Arlington; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Margie Bardin, and James and Evelyn Long, all of Abilene; and paternal great-grandparents, Morris and Kay Lee of Abilene.

Elgin R. Ashley
KILLEEN — Elgin R. Ashley, 81, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Joe Rich and Weldon Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Ashley was born in Rule. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Philippines. He was a car salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Ashley of Killeen; two sons, Daniel Stauth of Stockridge, Ga., and David Stauth of Vinenna, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Denno of Newton, Kan. and Wanda Metzger of Stonebridge, Ga.; one sister, Mary Evans of Killeen; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Vern Renz
BROWNWOOD — Vern Renz, 65, of Indian Creek, died Monday at his home.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Graff officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Renz was born in Rush County, Kan. He married Margaret Myers in Brownwood in 1937. He was a veteran and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He had lived in Brown County since 1982, moving from Fort Worth. He was involved with horses, ranching, and wagon trains throughout his life.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one son, Scott Renz of Brownwood; one daughter, Janiece Gonzalez of Brownwood; two brothers, Donald Renz of Cabin John, Md., and Arlyn Renz of Albert, Kan.; one sister, Janice Johnson of Hasting, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

James Sweeten
BROWNWOOD — James Sweeten, 56, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Scott officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. Sweeten was born in Rocksprings. He married Torjie Carlson in Brownwood in 1970. He was a member of the National Guard and the First United Methodist Church. He was a textile engineer.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one daughter Farrell Sweeten of Galveston; two sons, Jack Sweeten and Brian Sweeten, both of Lubbock; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Sweeten of Rocksprings; one brother, Dr. John Sweeten of Amarillo; and one sister, Phyllis Rhodes of Singapore.

Merl Smith
TALPA — Merl Smith, 98, died Tuesday at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Riley officiating. Burial will be in Talpa Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Millersview where she attended school. She received her teaching certificate and taught school in Duck Creek before moving to Talpa where she taught school from 1918 to 1953. She attended Daniel Baker College and Southwest Texas Teachers College in summer sessions. She was the widow of J.C. Smith. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Don Smith of Talpa; three sisters, Maxine Lett of Abilene, Jessie Maud Franke of Valera, and Billie Ethlyn Clark of Fort Stockton; one brother, Earl McClure of Fort Stockton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wanda Lee Waldrop
Wanda Lee Waldrop, 62, of Abilene, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Revs. T.C. Melton and Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Waldrop was born in Wagoner, Okla., and attended school in Tulsa, Okla. She married Floyd W. Waldrop in Tulsa in 1957. She moved to Abilene in 1962 from Alaska. She was a homemaker and a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; her mother, Nina Smith of Sand Springs, Okla.; two daughters, Sharon Lenius of Abilene and Debra Zimmerman of St. John, Kan.; two sons, Larry Waldrop of Mabank and Gary Waldrop of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Ethel Gray of Tulsa, Okla. and Naomi Eubanks of Sand Springs, Okla.; two brothers, Olie Smith Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., and Paul Smith of Mounds, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Price ‘Cotton’ Bradberry
Price “Cotton” Bradberry, 83, of Merkel, died Wednesday in a Coleman hospital.
Private family services are planned at Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Bradberry was born in Duncan, Okla. and moved to Abilene from Ardmore, Okla. in 1923. He graduated from Wylie High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the carpenter’s union and of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Ann Mobley
SANTA ANNA — Margaret Ann Mobley, 53, died Tuesday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Santa Anna with the Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Santa Anna Cemetery, directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
Ms. Mobley was born in Coleman. She was a lifelong resident of Santa Anna where she graduated from high school. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had worked for 24 years as a registered respiratory therapist at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. She had been elementary librarian at Santa Anna Elementary School since 1994.
Survivors include her mother, Faye Mobley of Santa Anna and one brother, Jackie Mobley of San Marcos.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
