Jessie Paul 'J.P.' Morales
COLEMAN - Jessie Paul "J.P." Morales, 58, died Thursday in Lampasas County.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence Cyr officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home. A prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Morales was born in Doole and attended school in Paint Rock and Millersview. He married Valentina "Tina" Martinez in Ballinger in 1960. He had lived in the Coleman area since 1964. He was employed in road construction and was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of Coleman; two sons, Jessie J. Morales of San Angelo and James Moralez of San Angelo; two daughters, Judy Morales of Brownwood and Jeneva R. Morales of San Angelo; his mother Blasa Morales of Coleman; five sisters, Maria Torres of San Angelo, Alice Estrada of Abilene, Carolina Luera of O'Donnell, Julia Sanchez of Winters, and Angie Felipe of Coleman; three brothers, Joe Morales Jr. of Coleman, George Morales of Lubbock, and Johnny Morales of Denver City; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Madie Rue Lee
ASPERMONT - Madie Rue Lee, 70, died Friday in a Hamlin hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Double Mountain Cemetery with Bob Phillips officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.
Mrs. Lee was born in Rains County. She married J.N. Lee in Tuscola in 1971. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Aspermont; one daughter, Patsy Smith of Aspermont; two sons, Donnie Criswell of Eldorado and Buddy Criswell of Haynesville, La.; her parents, Harmon and Clarice Whitus of Abilene; one brother, Daniel Whitus of Abilene; eight sisters, Frances Pruitt, Irene Turner, Lorene Whitus, and Joyce Whitus, all of Abilene, Maudine Thackerson of Fort Worth, Brenda Whitus of Arizona, Betty Whitus of Grand Saline, and Shirley Beets of Yakima, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Eunice Pence
CISCO - Eunice Pence, 87, died Thursday.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at East Cisco Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Poe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Ms. Pence was born in Cisco. She had private childcare in her home and was a member of the Cisco Chapter 461 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the East Cisco Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Bertha Donham of Cisco; and several nieces and nephews.

J. McAnally
ROBY - J. McAnally, 82, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Roby Cemetery with the Rev. Mickey Wagoner officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mr. McAnally was born in Fisk. He married Ollene Knox in Rotan in 1940. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of Roby; one son, Randy McAnally of Midland; and two grandchildren.

Mattie Geraldine Keith
DUBLIN - Mattie Geraldine Keith, 78, died Friday in a DeLeon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. David Locke officiating. Burial will be in Round Grove Cemetery, directed by Harrell Funeral Home of Dublin.
Mrs. Keith was born in Paint Rock. She was the widow of Steve Eli Keith Jr., whom she married in Erath County in 1940. She was a member of the Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Dean Keith of Carbon, William Cleavie Keith of Garland, Jerry Lee Keith of Stephenville, and Frank Keith of Dublin; one daughter, Teresa Lawless of Rising Star; two brothers, George W. Fisher of Glen Rose and David Fisher of Proctor; two sisters, Mary Garrett of Weatherford and Claudie Shelton of Stephenville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Russell N. Walls
FREDERICK, OKLA. - Russell N. Walls, 75, died Friday in a Clinton, Okla. hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Oklahoma Chapel of Frederick Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell.
Mr. Walls was born in Blackwell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals. He trained for the Civil Service in firefighting and worked in Clovis N.M. and Amarillo. He retired from Frederick Civil Air Base at Sheppard Air Base as Fire Crew Chief in 1979. After retirement, he worked as a dispatcher for the Frederick Police Department. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the DAV.
Survivors include his wife, Velma, of the home; five daughters, Judy K. Clark of Alice, Ruthie L. Webster of Gilbert, Ariz., Sherial A Richards of Frederick, Okla., Becky L. Henry of Tipton, Okla., and Brenda E. Hogue of Manitou, Okla.; two sisters, Bertha Greathouse of Brady and Del Massey of Aubery; one brother, Cloven Walls of Evant; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Tillman County Sheriff Reserved of the Frederick Quarterback Club.

Lloyd L. 'Larry' Legg
HOUSTON - Lloyd L. "Larry" Legg, 58, died Tuesday.
Graveside services will be at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Houston National Cemetery, directed by Hilliard Funeral Home of Houston.
Survivors include one son, Lloyd Legg of Abilene; one stepson, Ronnie Lang of San Antonio; one daughter, Judy Wayne of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Cindy Chaney of Abilene; one sister, Sue Hammer of Abilene; and nine grandchildren.

Betty J. Thomason
Betty J. Thomason, 74, of Possum Kingdom, died Friday at a local hospital
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. H.B. Terry officiating. Burial will be in Rosehills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. Thomason was born in Eliasville. She was the widow of Harry Henry Thomason. She moved to Abilene from Possum Kingdom in February of this year. She was a Southern Baptist and a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Harry David Thomason of Lakewood, Calif., and James Earl Thomason of Placentia, Calif.; two brothers, Tom Nichols of Eastland and Jay Nichols of Wyoming; one sister, Irene Hazelwood of Hobbs, N.M.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Zella Edwards
Zella Edwards, 98, of Abilene, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at North's Funeral Home Chapel, 242 Orange, with the Rev. Rodney Watson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Hamilton County and raised in Coryell County. She was the widow of Harrison Edwards, whom she married in Wichita Falls in 1925. She lived in Tipton, Okla. for over 50 years before moving to Abilene in 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lytle South Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, M.C. Cranfill and R.C. "Doc" Cranfill, both of Abilene, Murry Edwards of Dallas, and Samuel Edwards of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 842 Chestnut.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elmer E. 'Bud' Blackwell
RANGER - Elmer E. "Bud" Blackwell, 97, died in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Mesquite & Rusk Street Church of Christ. Clyde Antwine and Jim Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Alameda Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
Mr. Blackwell was born in Chaney where he attended school. He was the widower of Ruby Ruth Strickler, whom he married in 1923. He served on the Chaney School Board and then on the Chaney, Alameda, and Salem Mt. Consolidated. He was re-elected to the Alameda School Board. He moved to Ranger in 1962. He served as a County Committeeman for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation for 32 years. As one of the original directors for the Comanche County Electric Coop, he helped bring electricity to the rural people of Eastland County in 1939. He served on the Board of Directors of the Southwestern Peanut Growers Association and had been president of the Eastland County Farm Bureau. He was also a committeeman for the Farm and Home Administration for four years.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Blackwell of Midland, Herman Blackwell of Arlington, Edward Blackwell of Panhandle, and Virgil Blackwell of Iowa Park; one daughter, June Ice of Abilene; one brother, D.W. "Slim" Blackwell of Midland; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
