Tommy Fulgham
LUEDERS - Tommy Fulgham, 90, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home in Anson with Thurman "Buddy" Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Clear Fork Cemetery at Lueders.
Mr. Fulgham was born in Merle and moved to Lueders as a child. He attended rural Jones County schools. He married Lenora Foster in 1931 in Abilene. He was a self-employed trucker and a member of the Stamford Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of Lueders; two sons, Sam Fulgham and Larry Fulgham, both of Abilene; one daughter, Karolyn Reves of Abilene; one brother, Robert Fulgham of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, Bessie Vinson and Josephine Archer, both of Abilene, Willie Vinson of Stamford, and Winnie Jackson of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Raymond L. Boyd
BROWNWOOD - Raymond L. Boyd, 77, of the Holder Community, died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Green officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Boyd was born in May and was a lifelong resident of Holder. He graduated from Brownwood High School, where he was an outstanding track athlete, breaking several state records. He married Geraldine Fuller Boyd in Brownwood in 1979. He was a rancher and served as County Commissioner for 20 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Holder; one daughter, Barbara Stewart of May; stepsons, Marcus Daunis of May and Don Daunis of Waco; brother Thurman Boyd of Early; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:30-5:30 today at the funeral home.

Sherman Gordon Freeman
BANGS - Sherman Gordon Freeman, 78, died Friday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bangs First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Bangs Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mr. Freeman was born in Piedmont, Ala. and had been a resident of Bangs for 52 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the widower of Johnnie Dell Page, whom he married in Coleman in 1944. He was a stock farmer, and also owned and operated a large peach orchard for many years. He owned and operated Shaw's TV prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Bangs First Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Bill Freeman of Brownwood; two sisters, Ruby Hanson of Piedmont, Ala. and Nellie Moore of George; one grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:30-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or donor's favorite charity.

Mamie Lee Frazier
Mamie Lee Frazier, 75, formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Chattanooga, Tenn., with burial in the National Cemetery.
Mrs. Frazier grew up and attended school in the Chattanooga area. She moved to Abilene in 1994. She was a homemaker and active in the Senior Neighbors Organization. She was a member of the North Side Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Miller of Abilene; one son, John Frazier, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Lillian Miliner of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Girdner-Brown Funeral Home of Abilene, 111 Elm.

Lenora ‘Irene’ Callaway
SWEETWATER — Lenora “Irene” Callaway, 96, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Don Faver officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mrs. Callaway was born in Gainesville and lived in Sweetwater most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ. She married Clovis Callaway in 1922 in Nolan County; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Everheart of Abilene; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Malone Black Alkek
VICTORIA — Marjorie Malone Black Alkek, an Abilene High School graduate, died Friday in Victoria.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Rosewood Chapels with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, directed by Cotten-Bratton Funeral Chapel of Weatherford.
Mrs. Alkek grew up in Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford College and Texas Christian University. She had a 40-year career at The Victoria Advocate, beginning in 1951 as a teletype setter tape punch operator and serving as librarian and secretary to the editor and managing editor. She was a former member of the Weatherford College Development Board. A wing of the college’s Fine Arts Center was named in her honor. She was an amateur actress and dancer and a member of the Community Theater board. She was past president of Decora Study Club, Victoria Women’s Clubhouse and Bon Aire Garden Club and a charter member of Past Presidents Club and Victoria County Genealogical Society. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Colonial Dames of the XVIIth Century. She was past vice president of Friends of Victoria Public Library and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of John Alkek Jr.
Survivors include two cousins.

Turner Chester Simpson
CROSS PLAINS — Turner Chester Simpson, 85, of Baird died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with T.C. Melton officiating, assisted by Jesse Bigbee. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was born in Eastland County and was retired from the Department of Highways and Public Transportation. He was a member of Mitchell Baptist Church in Cisco. He married Ellen Wilcoxen in 1933 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Cottonwood; three sons, Vernon Simpson of Giddings, Marion Simpson of Abilene and Paul Simpson of Claremore, Okla.; three brothers, Melvin Simpson of Fort Worth, Burley Simpson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenn Simpson of Houston; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Robert Thomas Rich Sr.
EASTLAND — Robert Thomas Rich Sr., 74, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Romney Cemetery near Cisco.
Mr. Rich was born in Romney and was an Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Odessa and southeast of Denver City until moving to Eastland County in 1975. He was a carpenter. He married Mary Virginia Garrett in 1947 in Seminole.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Pat Rich of Eastland and Chuck Rich and Buster Rich, both of Denver City; two daughters, Mary Traweek of Abilene and Ann Foster of Waco; three sisters, Ruby Hull and Jo Hogan, both of Gorman, and Ruth Underwood of De Leon; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Robert Talley
STRAWN — Robert Talley, 51, head coach at Strawn High School from 1988-1991, died Saturday at an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Orsini officiating. Burial will be in Mount Marion Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Talley was born in Strawn and graduated from Strawn High School and the University of North Texas. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He married Kaye Corbett in 1973 in Plano.
Survivors include his wife, of Strawn; two daughters, Deanna Talley and Robin Talley, both of Strawn; his mother, Sylvia Danner of Strawn; one brother, Buddy Talley of Strawn; two sisters, Sandra Holder of Strawn and Patty Leonard of Granbury; and several nieces and nephews.
