William Galen ‘Bill’ Jones
William Galen “Bill” Jones, 55, of Abilene, died Monday at a Dallas hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Southern Hills Church of Christ. A graveside service follows at 2 p.m. in Trickham Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Jones was born in Santa Anna, graduated from Cooper High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. He taught in Austin for a few years before returning to Abilene. He also taught electrical engineering in Sweetwater. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the Amateur Radio Communication Club of Abilene and was instrumental in the development of the statewide weather watch program. He was an Eagle Scout and active as a Boy Scouts leader.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie D. Jones, of Abilene; two brothers, Gary L. Jones of North Richland Hills and Ken Jones of Hurst; one sister, Elaine Kendrick of Plano; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

George Paddick
George Paddick, 91, of Abilene, died Tuesday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Paddick was born in Decatur, and attended school in Cleburne and Fort Worth. He moved to Abilene from Dallas in 1940. He worked as warehouse manager for Wilson Produce from 1940-56 and also worked for H.L. Hays Construction. He was the widower of Janet Burnett Paddick, whom he married in Abilene in 1953.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Jason Thomas Woodruff
Jason Thomas Woodruff, 16, a Wylie High School sophomore, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
A funeral Mass will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fred Nawarskas officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South.
Jason was born in Philadelphia and moved to Abilene from Belleville, Ill. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Tina Woodruff of Abilene; grandparents, Donald and Ivy Woodruff of Keystone Heights, Fla.; great-grandmother, Linda Woodruff of Dundee, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Leona Pruett Ballou
Leona Pruett Ballou, 97, of Abilene, died Tuesday at a local nursing center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney with Dr. James F. Eaves officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Ballou was born in Blue Ridge, graduated high school in McKinney, and graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor. She taught school in Sterling City and McKinney before retiring after 20 years. She moved to Abilene in 1996. She was the widow of Oran A. Ballou, whom she married in San Angelo in 1926. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Bill Ballou of Abilene; one daughter, Carlene Musser of Abilene; one sister, Margaret Pruett Ogilvie of Fayetteville, N.C.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred Clore Howard
ALBANY — Mildred Clore Howard, 83, died Monday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Albany Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Cope officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mrs. Howard was born in Pope County, Ill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma Garren of Albany; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Marion M. Bare
MESQUITE — Marion M. Bare, 70, died Sunday.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel of Mesquite with burial in Kemp Cemetery in Kemp.
Mr. Bare was born in Dallas, and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Taylor County Citizens Band Radio Club during the 1960-70’s. He was mentioned in a series of books titled Fighting Men of Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Bare; four daughters, Carol Ramey, Judy Walters, Sherry Adams and Donna Christine Adams; two stepdaughters, Glenda Hacker and Sandy Stienra; one stepson, Larry McAlpine; three sisters, Marie Albin, Irene York, and Bonnie Moody; one brother, Everett Bare; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Rev. Ozelle McBride
The Rev. Ozelle McBride, 64, died Friday in Wytheville, Va.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Dr. James W. Webbs and Rev. Bobby King officiating, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home of Abilene.
Rev. McBride was born in Arkansas. He was a truck driver. He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Green; two brothers; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bernard ‘Bernie’ Milmo III
LA MARQUE — Bernard “Bernie” Milmo III, 79, died Monday in a Webster hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the James Crowder Funeral Home with Leo Smith officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating.
Mr. Milmo was born in Perrin. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired welder for Carbide Chemical Company. He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, and the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Adona Milmo of La Marque; three daughters, Mary Majors of The Woodlands, Virginia Weatherford of Arlington, and Dee Dee Mathiews of Tomball; three sons, Walter Milmo of Friendswood, David Milmo of Gordon, and Wesley Milmo of Tomball; one sister, Lucille Burch of Ranger; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ruth Mae Moore Carlton
STAMFORD — Ruth Mae Moore Carlton, 91, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at St. John’s United Methodist Church with the Revs. John Erwin and Paul Carlton officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Carlton was born in Stamford. She was the widow of Carl Edward Carlton, whom she married in Lubbock in 1925. She was a lifetime resident of Jones County and a member of the Texas Cowboy Reunion Old-timers Association. She was also a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Stamford Garden Club, the Monday Canasta Club, the 84 Club, and a past member of the Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include one son, Billy Walter Carlton of Granbury; one daughter, Carla Carlton Bird of Stamford; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
