Frances Louise Draper
HASKELL — Frances Louise Draper, 65, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Haskell with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Draper married Fred Draper on June 22, 1968. She worked as a nurse at Haskell Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Haskell; her mother, Eva Pearl Hanks of Duncan, Okla.; four sons, David Livingston of Abilene, Harvey Livingston of Caldwell, Randy Livingston of Haskell, and Steve Livingston of Clyde; four daughters, Glenda Storm of Caldwell, Kathy Gosdin of Bernalillo, N.M., Kim Schulte of Mineral Wells, and Karen Livingston of Haskell; four brothers, Troy Stone of Munday, and Walter Stone, James Stone, and Robert Stone, all of Waco; one sister, Linda Kay Strawhorn of North Victoria; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John D. Koon
COLORADO CITY — John D. Koon, 78, formerly of Snyder, died Thursday in Midland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Colorado City with the Rev. “Bear” Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery.
Mr. Koon was born in Hallsville and had lived in Colorado City since 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as a field gauger for Shell Oil and was a Methodist.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Blythe of Lubbock, Lana Koon of Odessa, and Janie Dyer of Midland; former wife, Faye Moore of Midland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Irene Day
EARLY — Irene Day, 78, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Eastlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Dale Tabor officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Day was born in Mills County and had lived in Brownwood for the past 30 years.
She was the widow of Leon Elbert Day. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Jones Chapel Baptist Church and Eastern Star 116.
Survivors include one son, Gaylon L. Day of Blanket; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Early.

Rance H. Turner Jr., 82, formerly of Abilene, died April 28, 1999, in West Plains, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Turner was born in Gatesville. He was the widower of Velma W. Turner.
Survivors include one son, Billy Turner of Abilene; one daughter, Brenda Anima of Calif.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Oren F. Moore
COLORADO CITY — Oren F. Moore, 84, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Colorado City with the Revs. Kay Reed and Bob Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Westbrook Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born in Mitchell County. He married Louise Stokes on June 1, 1947, in Westbrook. He was an operator for Col-Tex and Fina. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Colorado City; three brothers, Clarence Moore of Mabank, and Leon Moore and Grady Moore, both of Mesquite; two sisters, Carmen Stephenson of Ballinger and Linnie Johnson of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.

Deann Jobe Adkinson
FORT WORTH — Deann Jobe Adkinson, 61, formerly of Tuscola, died Sunday.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Ms. Adkinson was born in Tuscola and graduated from South Taylor High School in Tuscola.
Survivors include one son, Mike Powelson of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Patsy McKeithan of Fort Worth and Wylda Speer of San Jose, Calif; and several cousins in the Abilene and Tuscola area.
The family will be at the home of Bill and Les Terry, 925 Graham, Tuscola, TX.

ROTAN — Rebecca Montez, 60, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in the Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Johnrose Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery.
Mrs. Montez was born in Odem. She was the widow of Julian Montez. She was a ceramic dealer and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Montez, Julian Montez, and Adam Montez, all of Rotan, and Daniel Montez of Plainview; three daughters, Jeannie Ortega and Susan Montez, both of Sweetwater, and Martha Montez of Calif.; three brothers, Willie Vasquez, Ciprano Vasquez, and Natividad Vasquez Jr.; three sisters, Janie Martinez, Sandy Alvardo, and Della Wagner; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Billie Joyce Deal
WEATHERFORD — Billie Joyce Deal, 70, died Thursday in a local care facility.
Services will be at 4 p.m. in Trickham Union Church with the Rev. James Ford officiating. Burial will be in Rockwood Cemetery, directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
Mrs. Deal was born in Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School. She married Gene Deal on October 9, 1946. She was a longtime resident of Abilene before moving to Weatherford in 1978. She owned and operated Deal’s Food Store. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Weatherford; one daughter, Andrea Ing of Weatherford; three sons, Don Deal and Larry Deal, both of Weatherford, and Kerry Deal of Weatherford; two brothers, Elvis Cozart and Dwan Cozart, both of Santa Anna; and six grandchildren.

Jack H. Ray
THROCKMORTON — Jack H. Ray, 73, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Rice officiating. Burial will be in Throckmorton Cemetery, directed by Merriman-Archer Funeral Home of Throckmorton.
Mr. Ray was a cutting horse trainer and ranch hand, and worked at several ranches in Texas and Kansas, including the R.A. Brown of Throckmorton, the W.R. Watt of Throckmorton, and the Nig London and the 6666 at Guthrie. He also had done boot and shoe repair. He had lived in Throckmorton several times before returning in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Ray, of Throckmorton; three sons, Gary Ray of Throckmorton, Ronnie Ray of Stephenville, and Charles Ray of Afton; two daughters, Vonnie Jones of Throckmorton and Brenda Burns of Hereford; three sisters, Josephine Baker, Ruby Blackwell, and Doris Wall, all of Ashland, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Gregg Murrell
RICHARDSON — Gregg Murrell, 27, died April 30, 1999, in a Dallas hospital.
Services were held May 3, 1999, in the First Baptist Church of Arlington and burial was in the Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, directed by Moore Funeral Home of Arlington.
Mr. Murrell was born in Arlington and graduated from the University of North Texas. He was a member of the Porsche Club of America - Maverick Region, Society of Automotive Engineers, and the First Baptist Church of Richardson.
Survivors include his parents, Ron and Jan Murrell; one sister, Stephanie Murrell Tedder; grandfather, Ray Hooten; and grandmother, Annie Lea Murrell.
Memorials may be made to the Kanakuk-Kanakomo Christian Athletic Kamp in Branson, Mo.; the First Baptist Church of Arlington; or the First Baptist Church of Richardson, Junior and Senior High School Camp Scholarship.
