Pearl Viola Sigler
GRAND PRAIRIE — Pearl Viola Sigler, 96, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Rising Star with the Rev. Lynn Starnes officiating. Burial will be in the Rising Star Cemetery.
Mrs. Sigler was born in Rising Star and attended Salt Tank Schools. She also attended John Tarleton Teachers Normal. She owned and operated restaurants in Dallas; Oakland, Calif.; and Brownwood before returning to Rising Star. She moved to Abilene and then Grand Prairie, where she had lived for the past seven year. She was a Methodist. She was the widow of Henry Duncan and Frank Sigler.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Billie Joyce Deal
WEATHERFORD - Billie Joyce Deal, 70, died Thursday in a local care facility.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Trickham Union Church with the Revs. Kermit Sorrells and Pat McClatchy officiating. Burial will be in Rockwood Cemetery, directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
Mrs. Deal was born in Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School. She married Gene Deal on October 9, 1946. She was a longtime resident of Abilene before moving to Weatherford in 1978. She owned and operated Deal's Food Store. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Weatherford; one daughter, Andrea Ing of Weatherford; three sons, Don Deal and Larry Deal, both of Weatherford, and Kerry Deal of Weatherford; two brothers, Elvis Cozart and Dwan Cozart, both of Santa Anna; and six grandchildren.

Neil McClain
EARLY - Neil McClain, 86, of Blanket and formerly of Bangs, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. McClain was born in Brown County and graduated from Bangs High School. He was the widower of Winnie Elizabeth Dewberry McClain, whom he married on March 3, 1935, in Brown County. He ranched most of his life and was a Baptist.
Survivors include six daughters, Mary M. Miller of Abilene, Gladys Armstrong of Diana, Cindy McClain of W.Va., Suzy Russler of Arlington, Denece Hubbard of Rising Star, and Chyrl Bradfield of Richardson; seven sons, Johnny H. McClain and Charles R. McClain, both of Dilley, Jerry O. McClain, Donnie Perry, and Craig Perry, all of Abilene, and Richard V. McClain and David M. McClain, both of Blanket; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth McFerran
BROWNWOOD - Elizabeth McFerran, 84, formerly of Grosbeck, died Friday following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Mexia with burial in the Old Bethel Cemetery, directed by Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Local arrangements were under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. McFerran was born in Grosbeck. She graduated from Grosbeck School and later worked as an insurance claims clerk for CNA Insurance Company. She was the widow of Leroy Clark, whom she married in Brownwood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grosbeck.
Survivors include one daughter, Johanna Robertson of Brownwood; one sister, Beatrice Roark of Grosbeck; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

John Eugene Crow Sr.
BAIRD - John Eugene Crow Sr., 76, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.
Mr. Crow was born in Sherman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a vending machine mechanic. He was the widower of Martha McCollum Crow, whom he married on July 14, 1944, in Waco. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, John Crow Jr. of Hawley and James Crow of Kemp; one daughter, Linda Sue Webb of Kaufman; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Tollie Faver
SNYDER - Tollie Faver, 104, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nan Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.
Mr. Faver was born in Light in Scurry County. He served during World War I helping build bomber bases. He was the widower of Margaret Ann "Maggie" Werner Faver, whom he married on July 22, 1922, in Snyder. He was a carpenter and also worked for the Snyder Independent School system. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include one son, Arel "Red" Faver of Snyder; one daughter, Wernette Smith of Snyder; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be until noon Monday at the funeral home.

Ellen M. (Mrs. P.E.) Perry
ALBANY - Ellen M. (Mrs. P.E.) Perry, 90, of Borger, died Wednesday at the home of her niece in Albany.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors Chapel in Borger with the Rev. Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Local arrangements were by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Perry was born in Enid, Okla. She was the widow of Phinis Eldon Perry, whom she married on June 29, 1930, in Breckenridge. She was an AT&T operator and also worked as an over-seas operator during World War II. She and her husband owned and operated Perry Sign Company in Borger. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include three nephews, Murray Ferguson of New Braunfels, Don Ferguson of San Antonio, and Don Chase of The Colony; and one niece, Alma Ellen Godfrey-Neese of Albany.
Viewing will be until Sunday morning at the Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home in Albany.

Lula Mae Maddox
RANGER - Lula Mae Maddox, 92, died in an Athens hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Second Baptist Church in Ranger with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Burial will be in Merriman Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
Mrs. Maddox was born in the Chaney Community. She was the widower of Andrew Giddeon Maddox, whom she married on Jan. 4, 1923, in Ranger. She attended school and taught school in the Lone Cedar area. She worked as an aide at the Ranger General Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ranger.
Survivors include one son, Elvert "Cricket" Maddox of Strawn; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

William Craton ‘Bill’ Rister
William Craton “Bill” Rister, 82, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. Ricky Rister and Allan Cartrite officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery in Hodges.
Mr. Rister was born in Jones County and attended school in Hawley. He was a pump mechanic and retired after 10 years with Abilene Pump and Electric. He also worked for Titlow Pump Service for 10 years. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Pearl Lois Adams in 1947 in Abilene; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, William D. “Bill” Rister and Calvin C. Rister, both of Abilene; one daughter, Leta Buckner of Abilene; one sister, Opal Cowan of California; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be at 1833 Jameson.

Eudell Townsend
Eudell Townsend, 85, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Townsend was born in Hamilton County and attended school in Muleshoe. She moved to Abilene from Rockwood in 1957. She was a homemaker and a member of South Side Baptist Church. She married James A. Townsend in 1929 in Hamilton; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Townsend of Abilene; one daughter, Gladys Lavon Burfield of Lake Brownwood; one brother, Alton Davis of Snyder; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
