Delza Mae Harwell
Delza Mae Harwell, 92, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Pecan Cemetery in Purves with the Rev. David Roberts officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Harwell was born and attended school in Purves and moved to Abilene in 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Shelton and Doyle Shelton, both of Abilene, and Carl Shelton of Clyde; two daughters, Virginia Keesee of Abilene and Murle Gideon of Cleburne; three brothers, Otto Gilbert, Ozell Gilbert and J.C. Gilbert, all of Dublin; one sister, Norma McGlothin of Stephenville; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Andy Jasper McCarrell
COLEMAN — Andy Jasper McCarrell, 90, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rockwood Cemetery.
Mr. McCarrell was born in Rockwood and lived his early life in Coleman County. He moved to California in 1941 and was an auto mechanic for 11 years. He retired from General Dynamics in 1971 and returned to Texas. He was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. He married Reba Burson in 1930 in Coleman; she preceded him in death. He married Erma Jenkins in 1978 in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Alta Hastie of Los Cruces, N.Mex., and Katherine Cadd of Ontario, Calif.; one son, Bob McCarrell of Lampasas; two stepdaughters, Susie Nipp of California and Brenda Harris of Tye; two stepsons, Tommy Bernard of Irving and Richard Bernard of Abilene; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Odessa Josephine Morton
SWEETWATER — Odessa Josephine Morton, 82, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Revs. Orvel Brantley and Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Morton was born in Greenville and had lived in Sweetwater since 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. She maried Albert Morton in 1936 in Snyder.
Survivors include her husband, of Sweetwater; one son, Jerry Morton of Little River; one sister, Eula Mae Corley of Sweetwater; and three grandchildren.

James ‘Buddie’ Hicks
COMANCHE — James P. “Buddie” Hicks, 77, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Longoria officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks was born in Comanche County and was a real estate broker. He was a member of the Texas Real Estate Association and First Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Bobbie Rea Stanton in 1947 in Comanche; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Jim Bob Hicks of Flower Mound; four brothers, Jarrett Hicks of Blanket, J.D. Hicks and Charles Hicks, both of Comanche, and Billy Hicks of Nogal, N.Mex.; six sisters, Effie Lee Farley of Bastrop, Elmeree Elliott, Mary Ruth Ross and Patsy Auvenshine, all of Comanche, Dee Heilman of Omaha, Neb., and Gene Silva of San Diego, Calif; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. today. Lunch for the family will be served at noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church.

Genevee (Sessions) Tyler
MUNDAY — Genevee (Sessions) Tyler, 98, died Sunday at a Knox County hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Munday Church of Christ with Gene Klutts officiating, assisted by Bryan Boyd. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tyler (known as “Jinks”) was born in Seymour and was a homemaker and a retired cafe owner. She was in the cafe business in Munday and Goree in the early 1940s. She was a member of Munday Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Reudel Roberts of Seymour; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Elmer Stone
SWEETWATER — Elmer B. Stone, 95, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born in Grandview and was a farmer and had been a truck driver for Sweetwater Ready Mix.
Survivors include one sister, Jewel Campbell of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Willie Evans
EARLY — Willie Evans, 71, of Brownwood died Saturday at a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greater Faith Community Church with Aaron Blake officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Evans was born in Brenham and had lived in Brownwood since 1949. He was a retired warehouseman for Santa Fe Railroad.
Survivors include four sons, Melvin Evans, Bobby Terrell and Gary Terrell, all of Brownwood, and Philip Terrell of Orange; five daughters, Audrey Jones, Billie Joe Blackshear and Andrea Evans, all of Brenham, and Nadine Terrell and Margaret Terrell, both of Brownwood; one brother, L.C. Evans of Brenham; one sister, Inez Miles of Brenham; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lyndell Willingham
HAMLIN — Lyndell L. Willingham, 68, died Saturday at a Midland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Foster-Adams Funeral Home with Jerry Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Swedonia Cemetery in Fisher County.
Mr. Willingham was born in Hamlin and attended school in Clyde. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had lived in McCamey since 1969. He was an oil field driller and a member of the Church of Christ and American Legion.
Survivors include one son, Garland Willingham of Artesia, N.Mex.; two stepsons, Ronnie Grogan of Llano and Franklin Moore of Brownwood; two stepdaughters, Alicia McDaniel of Corpus Christi and Sharon McCloud of Pontotoc; one brother, Paul Willingham Jr. of Fort Worth; and 11 grandchildren.

Robert Charles Brookshire
SWEETWATER — Robert Charles Brookshire, 69, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Lavelle Layfield and the Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial with military and Masonic rites will be in Garden of Memories.
Mr. Brookshire was born in Sweetwater, where he had lived since 1978. He graduated from Newman High School in 1947 and attended Schriner College, Texas Tech University, McMurry University and the University of Southern California. He retired from the Air Force as a major after 26 years. He married Joy Younger in 1953 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; two sons, Daniel Brookshire of Austin and Michael Brookshire of Lake Sweetwater; and one daughter, Linda Joy Carson of Sweetwater.

Raleigh Odell Johnson
BAIRD — Raleigh Odell Johnson, 85, of Abilene died Monday at an Abilene nursing home.
The body will be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Johnson was born in Caps and moved to Abilene from Downey, Calif., in 1992. He was a retired buyer for Safeway grocery stores and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one niece, one nephew and seven great-nieces and -nephews.
